  1. Hey Cathexis I'm pretty sure D3D is included in the RivaTuner installation http://downloads.guru3d.com/RivaTuner-v2.09-download-163.html, so download that package and check through it. It should be in there. Once installed, set it to launch on windows startup and add swtor.exe (C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic\swtor\retailclient\swtor.exe) as a profile. Make sure you set "Force Triple Buffering" and "Force Vertical Sync" on swtor.exe's profile. Also make sure "sound indication" (speaker icon in the program) is not muted. You'll hear a system sound whenever you launch swtor and the program is "overriding" vertical sync. I'm not exactly sure what this thing does, but it makes my game run a lot smoother. And ofcourse it gets rid of my tearing. The vertical sync through the game and through the nvidia control panel on my system don't work as well as this override for VS works Try it out, I'm sure you'll notice if it's making a difference or if it's slowing things down.
  2. Hi there Sounds strange, checked your PC and it seems to fit the requirements. Weird that it's lagging even when all settings are on low. Have you tried altering the settings in your video card control panel? It's a bit annoying but if you try out all the settings in there and keep logging in and out (you have to restart game everytime you change settings in gfx card control panel to see the changes), you might find something that works. Also, I found that downloading a program called "D3D Overrider" makes the game a lot smoother. It overrides vertical sync from game and gfx control panel, gets rid of tears, generally seems to make the game a bit smoother for me. You can also download Prio Priority Saver - http://www.prnwatch.com/prio.html and install it. After this, open SWTOR and login and run the game. Alt + Tab out so you go back to windows. Then press ctrl+alt+delete to open task manager. Then click the button at the bottom with the administrator icon which says "See processes from all users". Left click swtor.exe and set the Priority to "High" and make sure that "save priority" is selected. Do the same on launcher.exe. This gives you a few extra FPS in my experience Game Booster and Advanced System Care actually seems to slow swtor down, so don't even bother with them. Make sure you close as many processes and programs that you don't need running while you're running the game... Besides the programs I suggested, just keep messing around with your graphics control panel settings until you find a combination that works.. I know it shouldn't have to be this difficult to make the game work but it's worth trying to get it a bit smoother Oh and also, if none of the above work, try googling "SWTOR tweaks config.cfg" and check out some of the results. There's a lot of guides out there which will help you edit the client configuration file to make the game run smoother. Hope this helps and good luck
  3. Hate to burst your bubble but... http://www.darthhater.com/articles/swtor-news/20518-patch-notes-1-2-5-5-30-12
  4. About 5-7 MB per hour for PVE... Goes up a bit more when you're playing PVP, probably about 10-13 MB per hour.
  5. Hi there Loving SWTOR a lot, however one thing that really annoys me is that when you're in a party and you join for Warzones as a group, the group disbands when entering the warzone. What I would love is that once you've left the warzone, your party is still formed and people in the party can re-queue together... I know this seems small but when you keep coming out of warzones and have to re-invite party members and re-queue after that it gets a bit frustrating. This was never an issue in my previous favourite MMO - Rift One other thing - when you get kicked out of a Warzone for hesitating too long in the protected area, it's really irritating that you get spat out into Korriban and Hutta Departures... We should get spat back to where we were playing before entering the warzone... Please devs, can you make these changes sometime soon?
  6. This also frustrates me but I do think it's working as intended... Depending on your ability queue delay (in Preferences) you have to click the spell AND select a spot to use the AoE spell within that limit. So for example as a sage, if you're channelling Telekinetic Throw and you want to use Force Quake, you'd need to wait for the channel timer to reach 1.0 seconds or under, giving you 1 second to click the spell and select your Area of Effect... Annoying, I know...
  7. Cool post... This would certainly be an interesting project for a Psychology study if you could obtain the necessary data My experience is kind of strange, I started a Republic character with the aim of turning her evil but the sith corruption made her so incredibly horrible looking that I went back to the lightside
  8. Wearing the iron man one right now - it rocks. But will definitely get the peacock one when I'm able to
  9. I don't think they will add day/night cycles. I read somewhere that they excluded them deliberately because the lighting needs to be constant in the game for the cutscenes to look good...
  10. I tried the ramdrive thing out (http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=154568) and used the .bat method listed in that post and it got rid of my stutter Thanks so much!
  11. Have you had this stutter since today's patch by any chance? It's just that I'm noticing one since then. I get a smooth frame rate and then it's like the game hiccups every 20 seconds. I don't know if it's the game or my PC O.o
