  1. I've played WoW for 5 years now, and I can honestly say I am bored of it. However, I still have alot of friends that play it, and I enjoy their company more so than the game itself. My guild in WoW runs two raids; one progression, the other alts and other, less geared mains, so I agreed to run with them. Less stress, more fooling around, and since they are on their alts I can just keep playing with them. The game I really want to play more is SW:TOR, and I recently came back to it after I learned they were finally allowing transfers. The main reason I quit was because my server was dead, and hopefully with this change, I can have fun again. So, anybody else doing the same?
  2. Talking to people is harassing now? Do you understand what the acronym MMO stands for? As for the OP, I've done this for a long time, in SWTOR and WoW before the LFG was put in. Most people are up for doing things, they just don't think "Why don't I do something instead of sitting around on the fleet." Not to mention most just ignore the chat if they're not actively looking for a group. If you bring it to their attention by whispering something simple, they will be more likely to do it.
  3. At the moment, the ship is just an instance with NPCs standing around. I remember in Kotor and Kotor II, you would see interactions between companions. Some of them would get along, others would start arguing. This really made the companions feel more alive and helped with immersion, which seems to be a big topic to most people. One of the small things I loved in Kotor II was how T3-M4 would walk around the ship doing repairs. If the companions in our ships moved around once in a while instead of act as decorative statues, the ships would be much more interesting. So, add companions interacting with each other, and add a simple path for them to walk in. Maybe sometimes they can get food, sleep, whatever. Anything to breath in more life to the game.
  4. For future plans (expansions, or whatever) I have no problem with fewer, larger worlds. However for a start, I think the way they did it is fine. I prefer seeing the many places you hear about in Star Wars over a few larger planets. Not to mention I actually hated leveling in Tattooine. The desert gets old. If I had to spend 1/3 of my time on this planet, I'd probably stop playing.
  5. Well I've been on these forums since 2008 (made an account in 2009) and I do remember what you are talking about. However you have to realize that these decisions aren't always final. Best example is Blizzard repeatedly saying flying mounts would not be available in Azeroth when Burning Crusade came out, and now they are. No suggestion is every truly closed, and if it is raised enough times it will be seriously considered. Unless its something really obscure, and I think a simple night/day cycle is not that radical.
  6. If you look at the healing abilities of some classes, I think it shows the transition from Kolto to Bacta. On my medic trooper, there is the Kolto Bomb, and Bacta Infusion. One has a higher cooldown and is single-target (Bacta Infusion), and the other is an AoE, meaning its more expendable.
  7. I recently started leveling in Taris on my Imperial alt, and noticed how it was night out. It was a great change from the usual look of planets - especially in one like Taris where Republic players, like my main, had to level when it was light out. I realize that it would be silly to have night and day on time with the Earth, but who says they have to be like that? Couldn't each individual planet have their own timers? So if its dark out in Alderaan, it might be light out in Taris, and etc. I really feel that seeing the stars when you look up really, seeing things at night, adds to the aesthetics of the game. Just imagine what Coruscant would look like during night.
  8. I first noticed this when Dorne wanted to talk in private at the ship. I ran back, entered, and suddenly realized Im in outer space. Clearly Dorne values her privacy.
  9. No. I have no problem with the game itself. The only reason why I say no is because I need the faction populations to be balanced before I can really enjoy it. Otherwise, as far as gameplay goes, I think its a fine game and will do fine, or is fine if you're in a decent, active Republic server.
  10. I know queue times in WoW used to be a factor in why people switched factions, so I agree with you.
  11. Couldn't care less. Chances are more people will read it before its locked than another post on one of those threads.
  12. On a side note, on Death Wind Corridor I win more often than I lose on my 50 Trooper. Quality > Quantity in Warzones it seems
  13. Cyborgs are already on Republic, but I really don't see this as solving anything besides offer people more reasons to roll alts. While I havent read up on the patch notes that much, I would assume they're also giving Republic races to Empire, like the Miraluka Which is fine with me, I have no problem with the legacy system. I just don't think it will really do anything to population imbalance.
  14. And just have people ignore it on the 10+ pages of a thread they've read the title of, and then ignored. Thanks for the bump
  15. While leveling my alt in Alderaan, I compared the two sides. There were 4 Republic players on the planet, with 34 Imperials. This is from Death Wind Corridor, which is a server that generally has mid to high population on the server list. On any given day we'd be lucky to have 60-90 people on the Republic fleet, while the Imperial fleet tends to peak out around 180 or so and rarely drops below 50. Republic fleet by the PvP Vendor Imperial fleet by the PvP vendor Not to mention in these screenshots, none of the people on the Republic were level 50 (besides me) In Ilum, there might be ~8 or so Republic players when there are 20+ on Imperial. I don't care how you guys plan to fix this, whether its free server transfers, merging of servers, or whatever; just fix it BioWare. Its been shown that this game is growing in size, but it doesn't help if people are getting invited by their friends, who play Empire, and go with Empire themselves. I shouldn't have to start over on the opposite faction just to enjoy a decently sized server community.
  16. Guessing you mean Imperial or Republic. I don't know about the others, but on my server there is usually a good 150-220 people on at the imperial fleet during the busiest hours, while there is 80-130 on republic. On a side note, Republic wins a majority of the warzones I've been in. Quality over quantity I guess.
  17. Act 1 was great in my opinion. There was depth, it was engaging. It was very well done. After that, it felt like the Devs were just trying to fill up space to get us to 50.
  18. http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/332/screenshot2012012215550.jpg I don't seem to have problems with Commando healing. Lack of AoE is balanced with fast and strong single-target heals. Just be faster at selecting new targets to heal, keep up Bacta Infusion and its easy. While stronger AoE heals might be an area to look at, I disagree with the idea that Bacta Infusion and Kolto Bomb should be flipped. I value Bacta Infusion much more in my healing, and it would be unbalanced to put it way down there. So old school holy paladin up in here...
  19. I used Aric until I got Vik, then Yuun. I kept Vik's gear up to date, only because it was so easy to do group quests. Need a tank and a healer for some Heroic 4 quest? No problem, got both. And Yuun is just an excellent dps overall. When I was doing more solo stuff, I used Yuun. Overall leveling as a healer wasn't bad whatsoever. You can survive much better (obviously) and you really don't suffer that much from the lack of damage.
  20. I used combat support just for the almost free charged bolts. Plasma cell I thought was good as well. Easy ways to get a high impact bolt off, so more burst damage. Since trash mobs while leveling don't have much health, it really wasn't that bad. Maybe on a long-term, overall fight, the DPS might be better with Armor-piercing cell, but I didn't notice any difference with leveling.
  21. Mjolnir, a fairly new 50 medic, light side. With Vik, my companion of choice http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/3968/screenshot2012012216230.jpg Exploring http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/9565/screenshot2012011802363.jpg Best performance on a WZ so far (i take screenshots when I beat my personal records) http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/332/screenshot2012012215550.jpg On the character creation http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/579/38135632.png
  22. You're the one thats dependent on addons, and you're calling other people bad? http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/332/screenshot2012012215550.jpg Raid frames are perfectly viable, while mouse over macros are completely unnecessary and pampering. Maybe you just suck at what you do?
  23. I really don't care what /v/ says anymore. Those guys think Catherine was a god tier game. Also, this pretty much sums up their view on everything. A game has to be legendary to be seen positively by the *majority* of /v/. http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/8082/1321510109776.png I cant think of a single MMO that met their expectations.
  24. I'd like to see more movement and more action inside the ship. Im sure it wouldn't be hard to map out a patrol-like sequence of movements for companions, so they at least walk around. Or something along those lines. Companions in Kotor 1 and 2 would often talk to each other, and I loved seeing how they interacted together. If something like this were to be in ToR, it would be awesome. Because right now, as a level 50 trooper, I rarely see them mention each others names let alone have any contact. Creating more interaction or more movement would only make the ships feel more alive. On top of that I would like to see more customization of the ships interior. This was suggested by a poster on another thread. This is a possible money sink, and MMOs can always use those. Interior customization could be a part of professions or bought from vendors. Either way, it would be interesting to have. Another idea presented in another thread was to tie together your alts, in NPC form, in your mains ship. This would be feasible through the legacy system. I've posted this in general, but I suppose it would be better for suggestion. Some of these ideas may never happen, but in the end I would really like to see more life inside player ships.
