  1. I am not trying to degrade you OP, just stating something as a fellow PVP tank. Protection is great and all but it is a fraction of our purpose in Warzones. I have gotten 50k protection in one life before by running into a big battle and throwing up a group taunt, a guard, and a solo taunt on their top dps. Yes that is all useful but if you can do all that plus have the gear to do decent damage then you are serving the team better. I do not fault someone for having weak gear cause we all did at one point and I am not saying this to attack you. Just giving friendly advice that quoting numbers of 90k protection doesn't mean much, especially if the opponents have figured out you aren't doing much if any damage to them they will save you for last.
  2. Since you are level 11 I doubt you have a ship to get from the orbital station to the fleet so you would have to use the direct to fleet option from Korriban. If that is bugged and not working try using your fleet pass. If you are a new player and don't know about the fleet pass hit "p" to bring up your abilities window and in the general tab look for the ability. It is a teleport to the fleet from anywhere, on something like a 18 hour cooldown. You don't want to use all the time but it would at least get you off Korriban.
  3. Here is another completely random thought that has never been posted anywhere on these forums before, don't go look at the 30 threads about this topic cause then I would be a liar . When the game was being promoted BW figured that there would be a much larger draw to the Republic since MMOs tend to have a "good side" heavy population. They therefore promoted the $* out of the Sith to show them as being not so evil after all. During this time they also showed the Sith as being although a bit ruthless in some ways to be more of a militaristic and organized society while the Republic were shown as being weak and pathetic, barely able to keep control of anything. Now come to today from release why would this imbalance still be in place? Well we can use myself as an example. I rolled on a server as republic to play with friends who bought this game and moved over as a group. They have busier lives with family and work so are not yet ready to raid and that is fine, but with the low server population I can't find anyone else to raid with in the meantime. Hurray I can PVP, but as a PVE driven player with minor if any interest in PVP doesn't do much for me. After I got my 3rd character to 50 I rolled Sith on a server with another friend of mine, hit 50 just this week and should be raiding tonight. With the server populations the way they are I know that I am being part of the problem not the solution. However, if I don't start raiding soon I will quit and find another game to play.
  4. I am not saying that there aren't some that use Kill Trading to inflate valor, there are. But there are also some that use it just to get daily quests on Ilum done. I know this sounds stupid but here is how things are on my server. Before me and some guys went to Ilum there were 15 imps riding in circles for armaments. We set up a KT and they call for more to enter. Just before the KT gets started some guys arrive from their fleet who were hell bent on making sure a KT didn't go off because it isn't how PVP is meant to be. Due to the wonderful game engine now that we had almost 2 full ops facing off the lag was so bad that we couldn't even function, me and the reps just left cause it wasn't pvp to stand there and wait till someone stopped lagging enough to kill you or you got lucky enough to kill them. All the sith that came riding in to stop the KT left and didn't work on their dailys either, leaving once again about 15 imps to ride circles for armaments. End result? A fraction of the sith complete their dailys and nobody on the republic can complete their dailys. Yeah there is no logical reason why a kill trade should be used by the player base. None at all. I prefer true pvp. I ran WoW on max settings during zerg fest style pvp. In Ilum I can barely play in 10v10. When they fix their engine to support true pvp I will support your request that kill trading be considered an exploit, till then dont try to deny me the only way I can complete a daily that is handed to you by population imbalance.
  5. So you are saying that you have tons of people standing around where there are no enemies to kill and doing nothing. Yeah, that is a pvp issue not a warzone issue. Thanks for proving my point though. I'm out for the night though. To be honest I think your goal is a good one, but your argument is greatly flawed. "We suck help us get better". Just use the basic philosophy of, "We would get more enjoyment from not seeing only Huttball". Not as many holes in that philosophy and therefore more likely to accomplish your end goal.
  6. Yes I fully agree, but in the case of Civil War and Voidstar it is like asking you to learn how to ride a tricycle. Takes you a time or two to get the idea how to steer and then you have learned it all, now all that is left to the race is who has better fitness or in terms of SWTOR who has the better pvpers. These two warzones are so simple that if you are being beaten by tactics it is cause your team fails at PVP not at the warzone.
  7. I'm sorry but I laughed like crazy when I saw that you are having trouble winning Civil War and Voidstar due to your faction not playing it as much as the other. They are both variations on simple tower/point defense maps, the most basic simplistic form of pvp there is outside of zerg fest. I firmly believe that any person that needs more than 1 or 2 tries at Civil War or Voidstar to know how to play it should never pvp again, they are just that simple.
  8. Basically as a Jugg to pull off that large attack they have to build up rage then Force Crush you for a full 4 sec and then land a 5-yard aoe attack. Since you know that the attack which hits hard is coming after the Force Crush, which you can cleanse, use stuns/knockbacks/speed to get distance and he cant hit you with the aoe. Edited: Read a thread earlier where they named the intermediary step wrong and not playing the class said it wrong. Fixed.

    Warzone Exploits?

    This is a known exploit. They know about it, I assume that it is being fixed but not working for their programming department I hate saying for sure cause I am just speaking from a logical sense not true knowledge.
  11. So we are now talking about a 5 man group with 4 of them being healers? are you taking on this group by yourself? If so either you or they are idiots, cause either you are trying to do the impossible or they are wasting time 5v1, so lets assume this isn't the case. So now we are looking at a 5v5 scenario where as you say all 4 of the opposing healers are targeting and casting heals on the one non-healer. If you have say one healer on your side and 4 dps have all the dps switch and focus fire the same healer, guess what...dead healer. By the time that the healers switch targets and can cast their first heal it will be too late the guy will be dead already. You also have interrupts, stuns, and knockbacks as a team to mess with healers. Interrupt them, then when you cant interrupt them use a stun on them to interrupt them again, then interrupt them again, then when they cast again you can use a second stun or a knockback, then your interrupt is up again. That is 5 casts in a row they cant finish. And a skilled player using a knockback to ruin a team's healing options will angle him away from the fight as far as possible, now he has to run back to the fight just to be able to heal his allies...interrupt with lockout of all schools of casting until he is in range again. Yes healers are so overpowered, when you ignore them completely and let them wreck your team. Then again if you can't figure out how to beat a healer you probably don't deserve the win anyway so tough luck.
  12. Before the "educate them don't make fun of them"...we tried and were nice to him not nasty. Doesn't mean me and everyone else weren't talking about him the next game when he wasn't there. So we are coming out of the doors in first room on Voidstar while on defense. Just before the doors pop we read in chat "HELP NOW WEST". We all hop out and seeing nobody on the east I went east to make sure it was okay since 4 other deaths were heading west. Of course the guy meant east and said west, here is the kicker. After we politely, and yes it was polite, told him that he got the direction wrong he absolutely insisted that he was correct. He stated that when you are looking to the south, west and east are reversed. Yes there are some people that just need help, but people like this guy deserve to be ridiculed.
  13. Lets think logically about why there might be less people logged in at any single point in time now than when the game released. What time of year did the game release and what time of the year is it now? Releases over winter break when kids and college students are on break. All of whom are back in school meaning that even when not at class they have homework and after school activities. There are also adults who play this game and have kids who are in school and are now busy with their kids being more active. Do you play a game the same amount at launch as you do after you have played for a while? No, you don't. If you claim that you do you either aren't being honest with yourself or you really need to get out more because most people take some time off work or family etc. to level when a new MMO or expansion releases, but if they continue to do so on a regular basis they need to get their priorities straightened out. All of these are things that affect how much a person logs on but not whether or not the person pays for their sub and or enjoys the game. Don't pretend like you know anything about total subscriptions based on what little information you do have. And I am not saying that the game is "fine and doing great", cause I don't know any more about that than I do about it "falling apart". We aren't in a position to judge because we don't have access to the information to make informed judgements.
  14. I just laugh when I am on my stealth class and see this...they keep lowering their health then healing up...wait for it wait for it...one shot. Now time to cap the point. Enough said.
  15. Bobafurz, you have a great personality. By the way, can you believe that I am worth millions and that I have a huge mansion and 5 sports cars. It seems that whatever you believe is the truth despite what the rest of the world has experienced. So if you believe that I have all these things things then maybe it will suddenly become reality for the rest of us and my life will be a lot easier.
  16. You have just proved that you lack knowledge about the game and reading comprehension. First: Who said I was playing as a tank? I have a vanguard to tank with and my gear and spec on my guardian are damage based. But then again you would know more about a character you have never seen than I do about him, especially since I only leveled him. Second: I was talking about 10-49. I did all of what I was talking about while between levels 14 and 49, I didn't start to PVP till 14 because I don't like it when others PVP without sprint so I refuse to. Where did I say that I was talking about PVP at level 50, oops I didn't. The only reference to 50 anywhere in my post was me telling you how much valor I had ground out before level 50 which was my subtle, obviously too subtle, way of telling you I was talking about the 10-49 level brackets. Third: What makes you think that I gained 10 valor levels in 30 minutes? The fact that I was level 50 valor 30 minutes after hitting level 50? Lets spell this out for you since you obviously need the help. -Valor level cannot be higher than your character's level until you reach 50. -The level before 50 is 49. Unless you are using some new math system that I don't know of. -So at level 49 you can have valor level 49, I know because I did last week when I was still 49. You can fill the bar towards the next level but you can not ding that valor level. -After hitting level 50 it took me about 15 minutes to get to finish the quest I was on, get to the fleet and pick up skills. -Warzones are built around a 15 minute play time. Since I was 1 valor away from 50 win or loss didn't matter. Wow look at that, when you use logic it all works out. Then again I am only speaking from my view of reality, if you live in an alternate universe where any of this isn't held to be true feel free to let me know.
  17. So I guess this would include my Guardian that I leveled up so much in PVP that he was 50 valor 30 minutes after hitting level 50. I would start PVPing for about 3 hours at a time...when I started nobody would focus me cause oh hey there is a melee no big deal. Then when their healer and top ranged was dead and me standing over their corpses the other team focused me alot more...which meant that I just pillar humped and messed with them all day long. Yeah I see what you mean, when my enemies considered me the greatest threat even to the point of leaving targets at 10% health to focus on me cause I just entered the fight...yeah so weak it isn't worth mentioning. As a note, in World of Warcraft I played a warrior in both pve and pvp, so I know the play style and it is a relatively easy transition, so I didn't have a huge learning curve. And yes BobaFurz you should just accept that you lost this battle. For me back to PVP on my "weak" melee.
  18. I'm not saying I enjoy kill trading but just trying to shed some light on it for those that don't seem to understand why some would do it. My server is imbalanced, sith out number the republic by a large margin. Before kill trading was going on 2 times a day for about 30 min to an hour the republic side would gather up an ops group and go to Ilum and control it for awhile, then the sith would go back to their fleet advertise about the rout and bam they come back and smash us with numbers. Since the largest ops group I have seen republic field is 24 and the cap on Ilum I believe is 50 2:1 odds weren't working out well for us. So to get your daily done as a republic you had to hope that you logged on when a bunch of others wanted to do an ops group and got lucky. The Imps were spending 90% of their day in Ilum in complete control cause when we don't have an ops group formed nobody is stupid enough to go to Ilum. There are too many imps to possibly beat and there are 15+ riding circles in the middle so you cant get armaments. Now for the Imps with no Republic they are just riding in circles fighting each other for slow drops, then Bioware goes and reduces the spawn rate of armaments. Now the Imps were left with a slower grind than ever. Now that Ilum PVP sucked horribly for both sides and not just for one side, any question as to why they have agreed to doing a kill trade? Do note that until the armament spawn rate was reduced I never once saw or heard of kill trading on my server. Since then we have hours of it done each and every day
  19. Bumping this thread cause I am having these issues on my Vanguard also, but I would like to point something out. I have these problems on my Vanguard in PVP on half my Storms, but on my Guardian I have never once had the animation glitch on his force leap. Much smoother and easier to play through. Please make it work as smoothly as it does for my guardian. Thanks.

So I guess that the voidstar I was in earlier today where we started with 6, went down to 5 and then got reinforcements 20 seconds before shutdown that those people were screwed and shouldn't have been put in that position. I will let them all know that their WIN doesn't matter because they shouldn't have been put in a losing game to begin with. Sucks that you have discovered a new way for wins to not count. Yeah that is right, WE WON. That is what happens when you dont give up and actually play.
  21. It has likely already been pointed out but if not here I go. Quit asking for pvp gear to get nerfed cause it will not change a thing and you are still going to get rolled by someone in better gear, the only thing that will change is where that person got said gear. Right now PVP and PVE gear are nearly equivalent at the same level, so if PVP gear gets reduced PVE gear will now be better for PVP than PVP gear is. So those with time will just go do PVE content get top level gear and then go into warzones and kill those without it anyway. Nothing changes. Yes I know mentioning WoW is taboo, but for anyone who was around back then think to vanilla WoW when there was no reason to PVP for gear since you could gear up through raiding. I know my guild used to roll a premade into battlegrounds and even against other premades we would just destroy them cause we were one of the few end game raiding guilds on our server. This is what you are asking for here. At least with the current system they people that are beating you in top level gear got it by doing PVP and not something unrelated.
  22. I read about 3 pages of this 48 page long thread so I am likely not the first to point this out but here it is anyway. There are a number of you that are saying "just leave and play <insert game here>" and a number more that are saying why some other game is better than this one. The problem I believe here is a lack of understanding between the two parties, something which I hope that we can eventually fix so that way we can make this game better. Those that are saying just to leave: Understand that the people who are posting about another game being better don't wish to leave but they don't feel like they have a choice. The problem is that they aren't phrasing things the way you expect them too, and you flaming them just makes them angry and then we are spending all our time fighting each other instead of fixing the game. Those that are saying another game is better: Understand that even though many of you are trying to give what you consider to be criticism in hopes of bringing issues to light such that they can be fixed, but the way in which you are doing it isn't easily understood and often offensive. Try rewording things and making them constructive criticism instead of just criticism. I will give an example. WoW has a better grouping system for instances. <Not helpful> SWToR would be better served if we had a system that grouped us for flashpoints or a chat channel that could be read on all planets and stations. <Helpful> I know that there will always be some that don't fall into either one of these categories are are people that just like to flame and some that really do just want to criticize, but there are many that are getting lumped in with no thought process. Here is hoping we can get better communication between the community so we can help create a game that will last a long time.

    wins not counting

    I read on a different thread that if you do not use the auto-queue from the end of the warzone and instead turn it off then self register for a warzone after loading back to the main game, then it will not bug out on you. I have not been able to confirm or deny this but it is worth a shot.
  24. I am not color blind and have no idea if this would help or not but just putting it out there in case. Try turning on enemy health bars if you haven't so that way you see their health above their heads along with their names. When you have this feature active it puts a small arrow pointing downwards over the head of whatever target you have selected. The color is red. Don't know if this would help some who were having an issue with targeting. If so great, if not sorry I couldn't be of more help.
  25. The times that I desert is when we have 6 players and they have 8. We don't stand a chance and just keep feeding them medals for nothing. What would get me to stay even in this situation though is if we have 6 people allow 2 of our players to pull out their companions to help. Still use only player characters to judge timing out and if another one shows up bring them in and ditch one of the companions. But forcing us to play 6v8 when we could pull out a healer companion for the added help is retarded.
