  1. Totally agree. Nice to see someone else of the same mind about the inclusion of Revan. It’s seriously pigeon holed the storyline, and has been the trigger of some truly horrifying flame wars on the forums that lost the game more than a few players. The hardcore KOTOR fans were out for blood before SWTOR even went live, as evidenced by my friend handing me her birthday present back in a fit of temper because it wasn’t KOTOR like she was rather naively expecting, and she wasn’t going to play some “stupid KOTOR rip-off when the real thing should have been made first”. I always believed that throwing Revan into the mix was like giving ADD ridden children neat red cordial and a truckload of explosives...and it blew up predictably and spectacularly, and pushed the game places it was never intended or marketed to go until the post protest redacted forums became the new canon. I liked the Dread masters, didn’t love the concept, but the storyline was done well enough that it would have made a decent expac, and allowed much more MMORPG scope than kotfe did. I came back to the game a couple of weeks ago to see what the storyline was doing and I have to admit it’s improved a LOT since I left just after the initial chapters of kotfe dropped, but I miss the game from beta to 2.x. It’s a lotta style and precious little buggy inconsistent substance now. At least the forums are working again and the developers are keeping the players updated now, and that’s a vast improvement over last time I played.
  2. We are an Imp side Harbinger 8Man team who is currently 10/10 SM and 3/10 HM as well as farming SM CM and working on HM CM. We are also active with achievement farming and world events, and while it's not a main focus many of us run BG's/PVP days as well. We will be raiding into KOTFE (fingers crossed for some new end game content sooner rather than later!) so if you're interested please contact Noct'ara, Amorphous or Gloominous ingame or head to our website for more details. http://bullseyed.womprats.shivtr.com/ -Noct'ara.
  3. Update on OPs recruitment: Spots are almost full for our first team. We are still in need of a solid heals (would prefer an Agent, but would also take a Sorc) and another tank (preferably an assassin or warrior) . Anyone else who runs to an Australian timetable is welcome to give us a yell though, as we will be starting up a second Ops team as soon as this team is stable and we have the numbers.
  4. Bump!! Ops team is almost ready to run! We are still desperately in search of a solid tank and a dps or two who can run in the evenings Australian time. If you're interested in joining to run Ops please have TS and Star Parse and be able to run to Australian times
  5. Oh lordy I can't believe this is STILL a thing! My poor healer is stuck over in EU because of server mergers that happened when I wasn't even playing and now I can't play her anymore... and she's the only toon that managed to get Karaga's hat too *sigh*. 'Welcome back, your launcher never ever finishes downloading so you can't play the xpac you just brought, and your main raiding toon is on a server that is only awake when you sleep and on another time zone from all your other toons...' Damn it she was my first max level toon, I loved that character
  6. Bump This needs to be implemented. This or something like it. I'm SO damned tired of REing over twenty items to get to the point where I simply give up or am too high level for the damned item once it procs. I get that it's random, but really 20% chance is extremely optimistic. I don't even bother making less than 15 items at a time to RE because it almost never takes less than that, its usually around the 15 to 30 mark. In fact if it procs within the 4-6 attempts like it should I actually get a little disturbed. And that's just the demoralizingly annoying make-re-make-re-make.... cycle. Lets not forget the never ending EXPENSIVE, boring and time consuming grind of repeatedly farming the mats to actually make dozens of hte same item over and over again. Mats like Sillica, plastoid, and aluminium just a an example because they are fresh in my mind this morning (grrrrrrrr). Quest after freaking quest and none! Or underworld metals... they should just have done with it and call it "underworld companion gifts". Really. I absolutely LOVE this game, but the crafting system is seriously making a big dent in my enjoyment at the moment. Especially since I'm at end game and aside from raiding and dailies there isn't much to do aside from trying to gear up my alts which keep leveling faster than I can proc their damned gear.
  7. Oh I so agree with this thread. I'm not sure whether to put in a ticket about it or not, but I'm getting to the point where I'm considering just pretending the crew skills don't exist and deleting them all to save frustration. I've made 15 of a particular item today and didn't proc a schematic from it. Two days ago I made 30 of an item on another toon and didn't proc a single schematic. Thats after spending thousands of creds grinding useless companion gift quests to try and get my underworld metal quests (because you can guarantee that when you need Abundant or above in a particular type of quest you will only ever get Companion Gift quests and moderate yield of the one you need....) and quest after quest of the other gathering skill trying to get a decent amount of mats from that. (Silica anyone? Try and grind that in a reasonable amount of time. It's SO damned hard to get despite being a crappy green material when you are not on a planet with nodes) Eh I"m so frustrated I'm rambling. The point is that I don't even bother making 4-6 of an item to RE anymore. I make them in lots of 20. Then I swear a lot and start the grind all over again when inevitably it takes 2-3 lots of 20 RE sessions to FINALLY get the damned proc. By the time I get it the toon I'm making stuff for is passed the level of the item and I have to start all over again... again... It's soul destroying. And NOT fun.
  8. I'd rather see it go to someone relatively local to it's location anyways. I would be so gutted if I won it over here in Australia and it arrived mangled and broken from being thrown around in shipping... I"ll just be happy to offer good luck to anyone who can enter, and reserve the right to seethe in fangirl jealousy when the winner is announced lol.
  9. Oooh I"m so sad that I can't enter... He looks aaaawesome Good luck to everyone who enters!!!
  10. I love legacy too Yes, I'm a shameless fangirl, no, I don't care if anyone doesn't like that fact. It's awesome to see a thread with something positive to say! The first thing I did when I logged in was dance in the cantina with all my minions (it's such a tiny thing but it made me squee! lol) In all seriousness though... The changeable UI is awesome too, it made healing raid night last night so much easier. The Black Hole dailies are heaps of fun and are fast and smooth to get through. The new warzone rocks, and as far as character and family tree development for the roleplayers out there I think the Legacy system rocks. It's obviously not finished, but then it wasn't meant to be in this patch so I'm happy to play with what I have and look forward to the rest Yes, I have been a very happy geek this weekend lol.
  11. *shuffles out of the corner* Can I come join your 'happy server' too? I'm starting to feel like a minority with all the gratuitous wailing and gnashing of teeth going on by the extremely loud and shrill relative minority on the forums. I just really hope that BW realizes that there are dozens of us who are if not extremely happy then at least content, for every person who breathes fire on the forums.
  12. You made me smile, good sir (or ma'am...) you made me smile...
  13. Ditto. I have had a ball on all my toons. I love the work that bioware have put into this game, and I love almost every aspect of it. The things that I don't like simply don't matter because of the sheer volume of content to keep my occupied. I absolutely love the patch, the changes to the UI are awesome, and very much needed. The legacy system had me cackling and plotting for hours. (And yes I admit it the first thing I did was take my companions and dance with them in the fleet cantina lol) I am a vanity pet addict so the free tauntaun is awesome. I love that the players that have put in extra time have been given a little thank you with some free play time. And I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that we are getting the unexpected downtime from last night back in the form of another 24 hours of free time. Seriously, there may be a few little probs here and there, but this is a very new and incredibly ambitious game. There will be some hiccups along the way. I have (with only one exception) had nothing but polite, helpful and respectful communication from the customer service people, and seen nothing but a constant enthusiastic attempt from the game designers to keep on improving the product. Was it annoying that I couldn't play last night? Yes, a little. But that annoyance was far outweighed by the fact that it happened in order to make the game better as soon as a problem was discovered instead of forcing us to play a broken game for a week with no word or apology given. Yup, if they keep this up they will be stuck with my subscription for as long as they choose to have the game running. (And that is saying something considering I am boycotting ea/bioware single player games. This game is good enough to be my exception to my own rule) :D:D
  14. Oh you have no idea. The emotional blackmail this woman came out with put my mother to shame, and she's an emotional blackmail champion! Alas it wasn't my guild, I was only a new member or I would have booted the person in question straight away (we had no idea that he was that young, we were told he was a couple of weeks away from 18).
  15. I've always been in 25+yo guilds until my current one that my main toon is in now. As much as I really like everyone in my guild I'm strongly considering leaving it to start my own 25+ guild. The reasons are: 1) Maturity. Just because someone is good at throwing huge dps/heals around or tanking, doesn't mean that they have the self restraint to make a good raiding partner. Being impetuous causes wipes and I hate wasting hours on end because someone decides that it's a school night and has to save 2.5 seconds skirting around a mob of 50 bad guys which leads to the poor shmuk at the end of the conga line accidentally pulling the mob leading to a TPK. Over and over again... I like to take my time and see the content, I don't want to miss 2/3 of it because someone wants to show off or make curfew. 2) I'm naturally flirtatious, and so is my partner. I WILL NOT risk either of us being hauled off to jail because someone took something we said seriously when we were sleep deprived and a little tipsy at 4am after a long night of raiding. 3) I like to relax with a few drinks, and I'm not going to be done for corrupting a minor because someones parents heard me babbling on vent. 4) I really really don't like being aggressively hit on by minors because my toon "looks hawt". In the open world I can /ignore. In guild, this creates a problem. It's bad enough when adults get sleezy let alone when kids do it. 5) I have a potty mouth. I'll admit it. I cuss, I flirt, I swear, I berate my mouse and keyboard, and the sons of hutts I'm trying to kill. I really hate when someones parent gets on vent and starts berating me mid raid for not 'minding my language'. Now, I know that there are a bunch of talented minors out there that love to raid. There are also a bunch of old farts like me who like to get out there and raid. I just don't think I will ever be comfortable mixing the two in a guild setting. I'll happily take minors on raids if they fit our playstyle, but at least if they are invited as a once off I am aware of the age, the situation, the curfew and I can make sure I don't do anything dumb that might get me banned from a game I love until after the minor has gone off to bed.
  16. My healer is doing fine too. I barely noticed a difference at all. In fact casting was much smoother than it has ever been making my heals more efficient despite the supposed nerf.
  17. rofl, Half the guys I know who play MMO's have a female main toon as well
  18. I was honestly expecting the prices to be higher. By the time you hit 50 if you are smart about the way you sell your crafting mats and items on the GTN, you will have more than enough to purchase most of it. I think the idea of the low level items that you can buy with the emblems is for new alts, not high level chars, so I'm not sure what the "items are too low level to be useful" fuss is about. Most players I know have at lease a couple of lowby alts that would find that stuff useful. Just have a play with it, learn how it works, then decide which bits you like and ignore the rest. *shrugs*
  19. lurking on forums, messing around on deviant art and plotting what I"m going to do tomorrow with my legacy tree. :D:D
  20. I've had a lot of probs getting raiding spots as soon as the guys find out I'm female (in other mmo's). In my last WOW guild I was pretty much excluded from raids unless I went on an alt and healed. These days I just don't talk in vent and don't tell anyone I'm female until I have a solid raid slot. Then I talk and everyone is like "holy crap!!". I've never understood the idea that girls should only heal, or that we only like to heal/are only good at healing. I admit I'm a pretty good healer, but I'm much better at big oophy crunchy dps lol. I like raining down almighty death on anything that moves. I do kinda suck at tanking though My BH in this game is the first voluntary heals I've ever had lol. I still prefer smacking the bad guys upside the head with a well aimed blaster though... *evil grin*
  21. Eh, TLDR. Paragraphs are your friend. I love this patch, I've had a blast messing around trying to find all the small differences, and tweaks. I've had an even bigger blast checking out the new content and the legacy system. This is an awesome patch and I love that BW has taken the time to fix the few probs that have come up instead of leaving it buggy until next Tuesday. I hope they keep up the good work
  22. Oh they most certainly did. And right in the middle of festivals, and on public holidays, and anytime their content needed bugfixing or patching. Or, they would leave the game crashy and unplayable for a week thus wasting a full week of paid game time with not word whatsoever except "patch on blah date, servers down for minimum 4 hours" which might mean anything from 15 mins to in a couple of memorable cases 24 hours straight.
