  1. Some of these Legacy features seem poorly thought out. For example, let's say I want a Chiss Smuggler, but want my BH and IA to be non-Chiss. I have to create a Chiss BH or IA, level it to 50, then create the Chiss Smuggler, then delete my Chiss BH/IA and re-roll it as the race I originally wanted? Seems rather convoluted. And what about the people who already created characters they otherwise would have created as different races? Tough luck, because the devs took too long getting the feature out? Making the race/cosmetic options retro-active seems the only fair solution. The player base shouldn't suffer because the devs kept them in the dark and took 3 or 4 months to implement a feature that should have been ready for launch. And character slots: 16 advanced classes but only 8 character lots? That's a pretty huge oversight. Many altoholics are going to want to create a character of every advanced class. And no, one of each base class is not an acceptable substitute. Why should they be forced to build up an entirely new legacy for half of those characters? Why should they be forced to invest in an entirely new server community for half of those characters? It seriously concerns me that this isn't even on the devs' radar. Especially given the emphasis on server communities and the impact of the legacy system.
  2. Schematics need an 'already known' label so players are not constantly flipping back and forth between their bags/GTN and their crew skill window to see if they already have a particular schematic.
  3. Will the character cap per server be increased/removed? The Bioware devs often stress the importance of server community, and the legacy system encourages playing alts, yet altoholics such as myself will be forced to invest in two different servers (and thus two different legacies) in order to play as all 16 advanced classes. This seems a tad unfair and unnecessary, and I'd really like to see this addressed.
  4. Will you increase the character cap on servers to 16+ so that altoholics can invest in a single server community and legacy and still be able to create a character of every advanced class?

  6. Just a few suggestions to improve use of the crew skill system... -Add a search field to the UI so that you can look for a particular item by name. There are a lot of different schematics within each crafting skill, and this issue is only compounded by reverse-engineered variants. -Add an "already known" label to schematics you've already learned. Nothing is more frustrating than searching the GTM for new schematics and having to constantly switch back and forth between your screw skill window and the GTM window to make sure you haven't already learned a given schematic. -Add the ability to search specifically for custom (orange) gear in the crew skill and GTM interface. Many players choose gear for the look, and custom gear is perfect for this. However, when you're browsing your crew skills or the GTM, you can't search for it. You have to sift through pages and pages of premiums, prototypes and artifacts that you have no interest in, to find the handful of custom items that are available. -Add the ability to link a player's crafting crew skill in chat, displaying all their schematics. If a player is looking to buy a crafted item, but don't have a specific item in mind, letting them browse what you have available would ease the process. Having to sift through your own crew skills and linking, saying, "How about this one?" isn't terribly efficient. -Add the aforementioned crafting crew skill chat links to the guild tab. Guilds exist for a reason. They help each other. A guild member should be able to browse through his guildmates' crafting crew skill schematics at will to see if anyone has what they're looking for. -Fix the companion commentary upon returning from crew skill missions. Ok, I'm just nitpicking here. But it's incredibly annoying to have your companion return and effectively say, "Look how awesome I did!" only for you to see they've utterly failed the mission. Or, the reverse, your companion says, "I'm sorry I failed you!" and they've had a critical success on their mission. Is it really that hard to make sure the commentary actually reflects their performance? Thoughts?
  7. Q: Will you increase the character cap on servers to 16+? As an altoholic this is a serious concern for me, and I'm sure I'm not alone. I would ultimately like to play a character of every advanced class. Under the current system, I would have to divide my characters between two servers and two legacies. However, I'd like to commit to a single server community and a single legacy. I've always gotten the impression that the devs were interested in fostering strong server communities, but this cap will force players who invest heavily in alts to divide their attention between two servers. From the previous Q&A, it's clear that the legacy system will reward playing both factions in a single legacy (and therefore, on a single server). This further divides characters. Characters of one faction will not be able to benefit from the resources (crew skills, drops, etc) of characters of the other faction within the same legacy and server. It was also made clear in the previous Q&A that the developers consider advanced classes to be fundamentally different, and yet we are only given enough character slots per server to play half of them on our chosen server. Finally, there's no benefit to the current system of having only eight character slots per server. Any economic concerns, such as the number of simultaneous crew skill missions that could be performed and auctions that could be posted by players with more characters, could easily be limited on a per account basis to the levels attainable with eight characters. As it stands, I, and I'm sure many others, have been hesitant to create alts because of the lack of info on the legacy system (a system actually intended to encourage creating alts) and the limitations of this cap. Increasing the cap, or at least addressing the issue of whether or not you ever will, would go a long way toward putting minds at ease. It'd be nice for the devs to show some awareness of this concern.
  8. Q: Would you consider increasing the character cap on servers to 16+? I'm an altoholic, and I'd eventually like to create a character of every advanced class. I don't see why I shouldn't be able to commit to the same server community and legacy with all 16 advanced classes.
  9. Whoops. Didn't see this thread and created a redundant thread of my own. I'll just repost what I said here: I'm a huge altoholic myself, and I ultimately plan to create a character of every AC. That's 16 total. The current server cap is 8. The most efficient way to split that up is an all Imperial and an all Republic server of 8 each, but I have concerns the Legacy system may reward playing both factions in a single Legacy, forcing me to go half-and-half, which is terribly inefficient. I'd rather invest in a single server community and have all my alts contribute to a single Legacy, but that's not possible with the current cap in place. I can only see a few potential downsides to implementing this idea. Namely, the capacity for players to increase the number of crew tasks they can perform and auctions they can post, which could have negative impacts on the game economy. This could easily be corrected by restricting the number of crew tasks and auctions on a per server basis to the level they are at now, regardless of character cap. I'd definitely like to see the cap at 16+.
  10. I'm generally not one to post on the forums, but I figured I'd throw this out there and see what happens. I'm a huge altoholic myself, and I ultimately plan to create a character of every AC. I'd like to get some feedback on this, and hopefully bring it to Bioware's attention, so reply/flame away!
  11. I'd like some more details on the Legacy system: -Will it give incentives for playing the opposite faction? -Will the perks be retroactive to existing characters? Right now I've stopped creating alts due to the limitation on character slots per server and a fear that I will miss out on some Legacy features if I create an alt prematurely. That's right: I've stopped creating alts because of a system that is supposed to encourage creating alts. This needs to be addressed. And as long as there's a chance someone is actually reading this, I'd like to know if Bioware would ever consider increasing/lifting the character cap on servers, and how the community feels about it. I'd personally like to ultimately create a character of all 16 ACs on the same server, but at present this is not possible. My alternative is having an Imperial server and a Republic server, but if the Legacy system creates incentives to play both factions on a single server, this idea has to be scrapped too (which brings me right back to needing details on the Legacy system). Help me, Bioware. You're my only hope!
  12. I'd like to see the character cap for servers removed completely. It's an antiquated system. I'm a huge altoholic and if I want to roll every AC I shouldn't have to commit to one faction per server or split my characters between two factions across two servers.
  13. I have similar concerns. Ultimately I'd like to have a character of every AC. I'd like them all to be on the same server, but since there's a cap of 8 I've settled on having an all Imperial server and an all Republic server (Note to Bioware: Character caps on servers are so 2004). However, I'm afraid there'll be incentives for having both factions on the same server which will completely ruin my plan. I've been avoiding creating more than 2 alts for fear this will be the case and I'll have to go back and delete characters. I think there are a lot of potential pitfalls with the Legacy system and it'd be nice to have more information so we could plan around them.
