  1. It's a shame many of you missed the best and lack the perspective. I'm not being condescending, just honest. Pre-Trammel Ultima Online and Asherons Call on the Darktide server were the best. For realm vs realm I'd have to say DAoC, although mezz was over the top. This ^^ -Gratus
  2. Your sentiments have been expressed time and time again. About the only thing more amazing than the facts you state that are correct is the lack of response to them. For many, whom PvP is a key aspect of a game, have unsubed and moved on, including myself.
  3. You are misunderstanding me. It's one thing for a "gamer" to personally enjoy any and all aspects of a game. It is another thing to have the lead developer for an aspect for the game to not be qualified. One look no further than the mess we have; but what I was pointing out is that yes, one who is a "Hardcore PvP'r and a Hardcore PvE'r" is an oxymoron. That isn't to suggest players can't and don't enjoy both equally; but from my experience it's unusual at best. Most "hardcore" pvprs PVP; they don't raid unless it is necessary to be competitive in PvP. But we don't need to debate "the player". The problems here are with the developers and yes, I stand by my belief the lead PvP developer for any game should be a hardcore pvpr and despite what Gabe believes, he isn't.
  4. I don't know what your experience is, but having played MMO since 1997 I can tell you that when a major patch goes in a game, usually developers monitor the forums for any issues they may have missed. As soon as this was brought to their attention; which I believe was within an hour of deployment, they should have done some thing. The zone could have been shut down until a patch was ready, as an example. It's pathetic the way it was and is being handled, but the entire PvP is pathetic as well so the problem goes a lot deeper than customer service. From what I can glean, SWTOR has a very very poor PvP team. Even in a link posted today, this guy "Gabe" the lead PvP developer says he is a "hardcore PvPr & Raider". Sure, hardcore PvPrs do PvE, but a hardcore PvPr and hardcore Raider is an oxymoron. If you don't understand that it would help explain why you aren't understanding me and also explains one of the big problems Bioware has as well. The two don't mix.
  5. The horrid balance, lack of a 50 bracket and plethora of issues; specifically PvP related is what caused me to unsub a day prior to the deployment of the patch, not after the patch. The fiasco of the patch and lack of immediate attention to what it created on Ilium just confirmed what was already obvious. Those who unsubbed after 1.1 were obviously on the brink and that just pushed them over the edge. People don't spend $60+ dollars hoping for the fun to only last 30-days. I don't genuinely understand how you can read all the feedback and not understand the credible reasons people have for leaving that have absolutely nothing to do with your theory.
  6. There is absolutely nothing rude in what I wrote. The irony is that you're the one being rude in even suggesting such a thing. The post I quoted was also rude in saying all those who quit this game would have any way because they are FOTM mmo players. Rude and childish to say the least. I'm sure those of us who unsubbed will lose our ability to post soon so don't worry. In the mean time, try to deal with the fact many who bought the game feel differently than you and perhaps our feedback will help make the game better; although frankly, it's probably surprisingly too late.
  7. I've played MMO's since UO released in Sept. 1997. As many fans of the genre, I've played tons of them, UO, AC, EQ, DAoC, AO, and the list goes on & on. This is only the 2nd game I didn't sub to after the first month; first being the mistake of Mortal Online. If you are having fun, bless you; but don't be delusional in thinking many of us who unsubbed would have any way. Most, if not all, who lay out the money for the game would want this game to be good and worth continuing to play. It isn't "for many of us".
  8. It's really no surprise they live in fantasy land since they've been so over the top since release. From reading the notes it didn't sound like they nerfed them enough and from what the OP says, that's a real possibility. This ^^ and the truth is, every one knows it and no excuse for how long an adjustment took. -Gratus
  9. I unsubbed and obviously not alone. People have already left and these 299 pages are a hint as to why. Enough is enough. -Gratus
  10. I am astonished this still needs to be explained. Many Republic haven't surrendered to Empire, they've surrendered to BW. Either they rerolled Empire or like myself, just unsubbed from this pitiful mess. Cheers -Gratus
  11. I don't understand it either. I also don't understand the constant reference to WoW. I haven't played WoW since 6 months after its release. I've unsubbed because PvP sucks among other reasons. There are plenty of other games to play and real life is a good time sink as well
  12. "PVP is going to be a big focus for us" Well, that would require replacing the current PvP team and undoing all the damage that happened with the recent patch. PvP should have been a big focus to begin with; huge mistake. -Gratus
  13. Or as I've done, cancel, save your money, keep an eye on the game and if it looks like things improved resub. Not very difficult. This is really a PvE game and for those who don't care much about PvP or whose needs around it are minimal, it will be fun I'm sure. For folks like me who require good pvp, this game appears beyond repair, not just from what is lacking and needs fixing but the damage yesterday created will have a ripple effect for a long time to come. -Gratus
  14. For myself, and it appears others, it's too late and the fiasco today just made it worse. Good luck. -Gratus
  15. All VALOR should be rolled back. The entire PvP team on this game should be replaced. They've done a terrible job on just about all aspects of PvP and today's lack of a reasonable response promptly is merely one example. I cancelled last night due to the state of PvP and today's fiasco just made me certain I came to the right decision for me. This is primarily a PvE game; let's face it. -Gratus
  16. Seriously, is there any sign at all that PvP is understood or cared very much about in this game? I don't think so. I think this is a PvE game first and foremost. -Gratus
  17. It was a bad decision. They should of at least patched in the bracket. This pushed me over the edge. With just today left before I'm charged I sent the only message posting on the boards obviously doesn't send; I cancelled. It's not just the tiers, although that is huge and lack of it a horrid decision; but the entire pvp situation in this game is atrocious. -Gratus
  18. This news pushed me over the edge. With 1 day remaining before I get billed, I cancelled. PvP is just as, if not more important to me than PvE and we all know the shape PvP is in. I'll keep my eye on the game and this particular board, but until then, I'll be doing other things and playing other games that I find fun. Cheers -G
  19. Yep, the OP is pretty screwed up in his thinking. Welcome to the Internet and another of the developers mistakes in failing to simply restrict ones ability to roll "need" as an option for a character that can't equip it. -Gratus
  20. You're not exaggerating. This game reminds me of the mezz insanity that existed in DAoC at launch. PvP is clearly not done well in this game and doesn't appear to have a team that understands it or even plays it.
  21. Sadly, I'm on a very populated server and would have quit if a level 50 bracket wasn't put in and won't resub until it is. It should have been in from the start. I won't pvp in warzones until it's in and that leaves me feeling like I'm being denied from playing an important part of the game for me. -Gratus
  22. All I care about is more and improved open world pvp. If all I wanted to do was warzones there are better games at it and most are fps. -Gratus
  23. The has been a bug since launch. It needs to be fixed.
  24. Unfortunately the 50's who want to be fed are much louder than you. There should be a sense of urgency in getting this 50 bracket implemented and don't feel there is one.
  25. We really don't care if you "may" need to wait a few more minutes for a warzone or not. The enjoyment of warzones for those of us under 50 is so bad many of us don't even que any longer and are waiting, not so patiently any longer; for the 50 bracket. If you are so worried about a "possible" wait for a warzone to pop, roll an alt or suck it up because the answer to your concerns that may not even be valid in the first place is NOT to continue this stupid unbalanced warzone situation as it currently stands. Hopefully BW will patch this soon. Personally, there is no way I'm renewing until this is in as it should have been in at release to begin with. -Gratus
