  1. Guys, I stopped playing my commando 2 months ago. So don't worry, the metrics will now go down and BW will start seeing what everyone is talking about. Cash, you need to stop playing too or else it'll take longer!! =P Now that the 2 of us are no longer playing our commando's, the nerfs will stop.

  3. These are the abilities that I feel need to be swung at by the nerf bat: General Nerfs: 1. Guard - Needs to be reduced to 30% with talent options (in tank tree only) to increase it by 5-10%. 2. Resolve system needs to be reset to pre 1.4 Class Nerfs: Jugg/Guardian - Reduce Smash/Sweep dmg by 10%; Reduce Unstoppable/Unremitting buff duration by 2 seconds. Sage/Sorc - Force Armor/Static Barrier stun procs only on casters bubble. VG/PT - Reduce HiB/RS armor ignore to 60%; increase ammo/heat of Ion Pulse/Flamethrower. Kthxbai
  4. I'm full stock on my WH geared Commando. I was told that replacing the acc to power/surge and all the armor mods to pve armor mods is what I should be doing but I don't PVE. I have no access to pve armorings and will not be farming pve dailies for them. I do just fine with stock. Assault spec.
  5. It will be bad if you don't have the skill. You'd be better off with a VG or any other melee class. To be good at 50 pvp with a Commando, you need to know every class in and out, use LOS properly, and be able to kite like a pro. It takes a lot of work... too much work. Also, Assault is the best spec for PVP.

  7. It's all about the metagame. I know what they're gonna do before they do it and adapt. Sents/Mara's have 1 ability that spells auto-loss for commandos/mercs but they never use it. Even the best Mara's/Sents don't use it accordingly so I usually have the advantage. But yes the Mara's that fight me over, and over, and over, and over again eventually catch on if they're smart enough. However, holding on to that 1 ability just in case they fight a competent Commando/Merc is never in the back of their head so they use it up and when they run into me, it's gg. I'm pretty sure I said this in an earlier post, granted it's 40 pages long... The Sins usually always slow me. If my shield is up, I use it to break it but that barely helps as they have a sprint and a root (or is the root part of the slow?). Sins have an answer to everything, if I beat one in the vid, it's cause I knocked them off a cliff or they were out of CD's or someone else jumped in at the last second. They are my bane. I'm not here to fight with you guys about the class. I agree it is subpar compared to the other AC's. Still tho, I have beaten some of the best on my server 1v1. And they respect me enough to focus me down whenever they see me in WZ's.
  8. Most of my targets are full WH geared with 18-20k HP (depending on how many datacrons they picked up). There are some in there that are BM/WH and you can tell who they are if I crit them for over 4k. My crits on equally geared players are 3-3.5k (give or take a few). Most of the warriors in my vid I did not crit for over 3.5k without the WZ buff. As for not being able to solo the classes I mentioned... Those are the counter classes for Commando. No matter how good you are, they will always win 99% of the time, simply because they can counter everything you try to do. I don't QQ about, I live with it. Well, I QQ about sins cause they piss me off.
  9. Rofl, read sigs much? There in my sig is my 25 minute vid of me destroying melee and most other classes on my Commando. I know the class is sub par. I never said it wasn't. The only classes I cannot beat 1v1 are Assault/Pyro Vanguard/Powertech, Shadow/Assassin, Combat/Rage Sent/Mara. The rest are situational with proper LOS.
  10. Have you played WOW lately? The have the best of the best Devs working on that game. Their in-house staff is top notch. Yet the PVP is worse than SWTOR. You think the stuns are bad here? Go play WOW. If you're not playing a broken class then gg to you. You'll provide nothing to the BG. You'll be consta CC'ed the entire match. I had my warrior with close the the best gear pvp gear attainable. It was the only dps class that could free itself from all CC for a good 5 seconds. The community QQ'ed so bad that it got them nerfed so I quit after this last patch. SWTOR is the only game where I can take a bottom of the barrel class in solo queue pvp and still do extremely well if I play the class correctly (even if people say I'm wasting my talent with a subpar class, it's still more fun than any of the other dps classes, to me anyway). Also, Remember that BW has a pretty non-existent dev team. A lot of their folks got laid-off or quit. And it's not easy to buff/nerf pvp without effecting pve. Even the Blizz devs have trouble with that and always have.

  12. Pyro Merc/Assault Commando Rail Shot/High Impact Bolt can only get 5k if you are full WH Augg'ed and you hit a Full Recruit/PVE geared player. Normally a crit HiB/RS vs another equally geared player will hit for 3.5k-4k. Assault Plastique is in the same boat. It seems like those numbers are just guesstimates. I've been hit by a 9k smash, once. It is not normal. The jugg in question popped a bunch of cd's and had the WZ power buff. It's possible that I was also debuffed, but wasn't paying attention.
  13. Most PUBS are terrible post 50. Just like OP said, if I don't mark healers, no one will. If I don't call out to focus healers, no one will. Pffft, even after calling out what targets to kill, no one listens. I switched over to IMP side recently and the pugs are just a bit better. They will mark healers, call out targets, and focus fire most of the time. There are some great players on the PUB side but they rarely solo queue. But as of late, most are either no longer playing or have re-rolled IMP.
  14. Basically what Cash said. PT has bigger burst and more tools. 2 instants that reset HiB and a stronger HiB to boot. It's no contest. If you ever played a Merc/Commando, you would already know this. The only chance a Pryo Merc has is to DPS from ranged and hope the PT doesn't see him until he's at 30% hp lol. Pyro merc and assault commando are built around their dots. They are up 99% of the time. There is no way you can insta-mez and heal to full. Your dots will break the mez immediately. Edit: Whoever said a merc should beat a PT clearly has only read the descriptions posted by BW and has never actually played either class.
  15. So what happens when they fix merc/commando, nerf sage/sorc bubble, nerf smash/sweep? Is it back to QQ nerf Mara's/Sent's?
  16. Yeah I was gonna break it up at first, but like I said I don't have the time to edit it. Most gamers have an attention span of 3 minutes, I knew I was stretching when I posted it. I usually only watch the first 2-3 minutes of a vid before I close the window and mumble, "noobs..." The people who watched the whole thing, thanks for taking the time!
  17. I have my VG with 8 piece WH now. Tactics spec. I like it, but honestly, I still perform better on my Commando than the VG. I think it's the whole melee aspect that I'm not really digging. My VG does take quite a beating before he dies tho. The survivability of Tactics is amazing. I rolled a sniper recently because, even with the extra survivability, I still dislike melee. Sniper is a pretty hard class to learn tho. Gotta find this one Imp on my server who is King of Snipers so I can ask for help. Hopefully this will all be short lived and in 1.6 they will fix most of the issues with Commandos. I just have this feeling that it will become a bit OP.
  18. I will only insta mez if the Mara is not dotted and he snuck up on me. Other than that I just Cryo and keep distance popping my shield to remove leg slash or cleanse his dots off if he is anni and depends on the dots for a snare.
  19. You still have Cryo and insta mez if they do not leap in first to keep distance. Insta mez only if they catch you by surprise and you haven't dotted them yet. DO NOT STAND THERE AND TRY TO CAST. I see people make that mistake all the time. Keep running. Your plasma proc, dot missile, assault plastique and HiB are all you need to kill a Mara. Forget about reseting HiB because once you stop, they got you. When I'm 1v1'ing most Mara's on my server, at 50% hp, they run away, they know they can't catch me and it'd be better for them to target someone else. Another question I might ask is are you all specced into Degauss? If not, then that is where you are going wrong. Whenever a Mara comes out of stealth at me and I didn't see him earlier, it's Cryo + Shield (if snared) + Run > Hammershot. I do not stop to cast. I use only my instants to get him down and always spam Hammershot in between to keep the snare on him. The Mara will be forced to leap to close the gap and that is where you KB. Most good Mara's will realize that and turn around. If he just came from killing someone else there is a good chance he has 30 centering built up and if the mara is smart, they will crush you.

  21. 9 times out of 10 they start with leap. You are already at range and can keep them at range indefinitely unless the leap. If they start off with invis, you have a stealth scan to break them out of it. So let's go thru that scenario. 1. They stealth; you scan to pop them out. Again, 9 times out of ten, they will leap to start their focus build up. They would need 2 Focus in order to leg slash. They can wait 3~4 secs to cast it while building the focus with Slash but by then they are already snared and you are out of the 4m range and they would have to leap at you, then you simply knock them back. and continue with my previous assessment. 1a. They stealth; you scan. 2. They Zealous strike into a Leg Slash; You pop shield and cryo. You are now out of the 4m range and they are snared. 3. They leap to close gap; You KB. 4. Continue with my previous assessment. It's not that hard once you get used to their mechanics. I have a Sent and the whole reason I went Combat is because I despise being kited. The only way for a mara\sent to counter an assault commando is to pop transcendence. So they would need to build 30 centering in order to do so. If it's a straight up 1v1, they will never build that much since they are being kited the entire time. Their only option is to start with Valorous Call and hope that they can burst down the commando before it wears off. Only Combat can do it easily because of their root for master strike. It forces the commando to use a cryo or KB to stop it and causing them to use one of their defensive CD's first, which gives the Sent/Mara the advantage. Not many Sent's/Mara's do this because they just don't know how to counter a commando that knows how to play his class. They all believe, "Oh a commando, lol free kill!" and then I proceed to blow them up. That's where the whole metagame comes in. If you ever played card games like Magic the Gathering, you'd understand.
  22. I make the best marauders look bad. Truth is Commando has a counter for everything they can do. If played correctly, you should beat them all the time. 1. They leap in; you knockback. 2. They invis immediately after KB; you need to be ready with your Stealth scanner to pop them out of it immediately. 3. Kite for 9 secs, cause their leap is about to come back. 4. They leap back at you (they should be at about 50%); KB is still at about 15 secs before you can reuse it; They will force choke, you break it and run while snaring. If they don't choke you first they will leg slash (their slow); pop shield to break it. 5. At this point they should be at less than 20% hp and they will use "Undying"; Cryo them while it's up and keep distance. 6. They will leap again; you knockback again, then they're dead. It's almost clock work. Situations do vary, but this is how most mara's play. If they change their approach, so do you. It's all about the metagame. I've beaten the snot out of the top Mara's/Sent's on the server all because they didn't expect to be countered so much. But after a while they will catch on and try different approaches when fighting you (the good mara's at least do this). You just need to be ahead of the game. Combat/Carnage is very tricky to beat. If they're really good, they will beat you 90% of the time.
  23. Thanks! Yeah I didn't know avi couldn't be played in 1080p. I used some weird extension that Youtube accepted and reposted it. =) If it wasn't 3 ammo and also reset HiB it would be worth it. Right now it's just a quick hit if I have full ammo while kiting. I still barely use it tho.

    Min/Max PVP Gear

    I've seen a few people in full WH running around with PVE enhancements? I thought BW removed the DR's on Expertise to resolve this? Are the PVE enhancements still better to use than the PVP ones?
  25. The other night I tried using "Explosive Round" while kiting. OMG that ability is so bad!! BW please fix that ability. Kthxbai.
