  1. Is there a clear answer or post on the forums I missed about Accuracy? I have been looking and I apologize if I overlooked it or missed it. Accuracy is a chance that your attacks will successfully hit a target. It states that Accuracy over 100% reduces a targets defense. The question is, what does it reduce defense by? What is the difference between 101% Accuracy and 125% Accuracy? How much are your abilities effected if under 100%? Is defense to Accuracy based on armor type, kinetic/internal/elemental damage? Thanks for the info fellow gamers!
  2. Hopefully with the new SSSP - 12 vs 12 free flight PvP, this means they have improved game performance which could lead to improved larger ground updates for PvP? Guess we will have to wait and see.
  3. UPDATE Houlden - Shadowlands http://s1156.photobucket.com/user/Thatonemerc/media/Screenshot_2013-10-08_18_47_34_896616_zpsa365872c.jpg.html
  4. Well Said. When I created this post, I wasn't trying to force (no pun intended) SWTOR to become the NGE. I just feel that if they took all the things that made SWG appealing to players and added it to SWTOR, you would have the best of both worlds and one hell of an incredible MMO. SWTOR is a fun game, but it too limiting and restrictive for a modern game. Diversity, correct content, and creativity are the core to keeping players focused. The story aspects of this game are entertaining, but grinding multiple clone-alts becomes stale quickly. I agree 100% that SWTOR has improved since launch, but for the amount of money and time that went into this game, and the franchise it is connected too, lots of diehard fans expected more or better. As long as they do things correctly, add good non cookie cutter repetitive content, and improve game play, the future does look bright. My ideas where not game breaking. What is wrong with improving companions, adding new classes, improving the game engine, adding larger scale PvP, enhancing crafting, etc.? WOW in the MMORPG world was lightning in a bottle. I don't think we will ever see another MMORPG come along that has 8+ million players. When customers come in my stores and we talk about MMO's, WOW players state the dangling carrot factor all the time. I have never played WOW, but I hear their is a ton to do. SWTOR is still in its infancy and we all can only hope for the best and see where it goes. Enjoy!
  5. That is your opinion and I respect it, even though I do not agree. SWTOR is a good game but very limited and basic for today's MMORPG diehard crowd. If you enjoy playing a modern console based MMO game on a computer with restrictions and instances, then SWTOR is the game for you. MMO gaming is a hobby and I am Star Wars fan, so until something better comes along, I guess I will settle for SWTOR. A fun game, but its true potential has not even been tapped yet and may never will!
  6. SWG in the beginning was unique and very popular, but was quickly wounded by WOW and SOE. This post was not about the return of SWG or turning SWTOR into SWG, it just happened to hit on points that are connected to SWG. This post was mainly about base ideas to improve SWTOR for the future. If SWTOR never came along, SWG would still be going in some form today. SOE would of turned the game into PTW game, knowing it can make money off its players. SOE pulled the plug because of SWTOR.
  7. I am a MMO fan and a Star Wars fan, that is why I play SWTOR. Imagine vast MMO battles with bases, turrets, walkers, teamwork, guilds, and more, all connected to Star Wars. Subs would easily increase and the only croaking would be from the enemy dying on the battlefield! If you think 4vs4 WZ's are better for the long haul then huge RvR sandbox PvP zones with battlefield objects and siege warfare, then I don't know what to tell you.
  8. SWG in its prime was hands down a great game. SWG struggled with two Achilles heels shortly after its launch. SOE and WOW. Even after the pre-CU and NGE, there where still base elements in that game that kept it rolling along with a stable entertainment factor till SWTOR launched and SWG shut down. I still say, if SWTOR took 25% of the best ideas and what worked correctly in SWG, added more sandbox elements, and moved more from an MMO to an MMORPG with RvR PvP, subs would increase ten fold! Much like running a stable store, a licensed product-game needs to appease its base core of fans for the future. In retail, new customers come and go, but loyal customers that are happy, are the bread & butter of the entire business. They are the anchors that help the business thrive and survive. MMO gaming is a hobby and a dangling carrot of interest. An MMO can’t operate 100% correctly if its main focus is to be repetitive and limited with its base design. The sky is the limit with SWTOR. There are so many things they can do with this game. My suggestions are only a small handful of ideas. The forums here are loaded with ideas. I honestly enjoy SWTOR for what it is (the new Dread Master/Oricon is entertaining), but its true potential is still trapped and waiting to be released. SWTOR has the ability to last 10+ more years easy unless they are planning an entirely new MMORPG after the new movies come out. I guess only time will tell.
  9. I have been a Star Wars fan since I first saw Star Wars back in 1977. My business to this date is connected to Star Wars. I have met many of the actors, been to conventions, worked shows, and rubbed elbows amongst Star Wars legends. As a hobbyist, my MMO gaming began in 2003 with Star Wars Galaxies. From their I ventured on to Vanguard, Warhammer, STO, and now SWTOR. I never played WOW, because it just didn't appeal to me for some reason. And I have to say, no MMORPG that I have played, has ever topped SWG in its prime. The feel and freedom of creativity in that game set the bar very high for me as a gamer. I didn't post here to put SWTOR down. I really want this game to succeed. I have been here since beta and have been riding the wave with all my fellow players. I have to admit though, for a modern MMO, SWTOR is lacking a lot. For all the good, there is a lot of bad that should be improved. Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors at AE/Bioware. We as fans can only speculate and hope for the best. Star Wars is the largest and most profitable movie franchise of all time and more new movies are coming. At this point in the MMO gaming world, SWTOR should be king, but to many diehard gamers and Star Wars fans, it is not. Being a business owner in the real world, I would relaunch and re-market this game. It doesn't matter if it is FTP, there is still a vast audience of MMO gamers and Star Wars fans out there that have not played this game. SWTOR may have lost a lot of players from the beginning launch, but it is still in its infancy of MMO life. There is still a vast potential of things they can do with this game. Nothing in this world is perfect, but with a few tweaks, some changes, and correct updates, SWTOR could come close and give MMORPG gamers what they want. In the modern gaming world, the X-Factor to gaming is the ADD factor. If a game keeps you focused, pulls you in, and entertains & addicts the mind, then as a fan, it has succeeded. Gaming is a hobby, an escape, and a form of entertainment. We all want to play something fun. Here is what I wish would be done if I had the chance to improve SWTOR. World The theme park console game feel of SWTOR needs to be altered. SWTOR can keep the theme park elements in place they have, but for long term MMO playability, SWTOR really needs to add more of a sandbox feel to the game. Bring the world to life, eliminate restrictions, and expand. SWG may have been far from perfect, but SWTOR can learn a lot from taking just a few positive pages from their overall game book or any open area/space MMO. Social interaction is key to a thriving community and universe. Fleets do not help with bringing the factions together. The best thing to do is to improve the segregation of factions and player interaction as a whole. Planets need to have shared social hot spots that work, this also goes hand in hand for the pvp players with adding RvR style control areas of war. Cantina's need to be active and improved, adding Entertainer as a crew skill could help improve things. Bringing players together is vital for any MMO. Each faction has their safe zones, but not having active neutral areas is a mistake. Places like Nar Shadda should have an active casino with playable games and more. This is only the tip of the iceberg. Random events need to happen too. I remember in SWG, watching a shuttle land and Darth Vader came out, a droid army attacked Theed and both factions helped repeal them, and I even remember Nightsisters attacking. Players had a blast with these. Travel across the board needs to be improved. There are too many steps to basic ship to planet travel. Starports, orbital stations, and hangers are large, empty, and to a point useless. Many seem like a waste of graphics and time. Visuals are fun, but the majority of all players just want to go from point A to point Z. Plain and simple. The quick travel terminal gets an A+. Also, if PvP is ever improved to control zones and RvR areas, bogged down loading screens and slow travel will have the community in an uproar! Classes There is nothing unique about choosing your class on an opposite faction. The abilities are named different and the animations are different, but in the end, mirror design is limiting and weak. Each class/sub-class should have an ability their faction opposite does not. There needs to be more diversity. The SWTOR story element of the game is great, but it limits character class structure for the future. What they should have done is make all classes neutral with faction/Dark-Neutral-Light side choices determining your character structure. This way we could of had Imperial Troopers, Rebel Agents, fallen Jedi, Republic Bounty Hunters, Imperial Smugglers, etc. I would like to see class defection. Wouldn't it be interesting to see some of your companions leave, resent your choices, or back what you do. Talk about creating a story! In the future, if classes are added to SWTOR, they should be neutral classes for both sides. If they ever take a page from SWG, add Creature Handler! There needs to be more faction perks pre side. Also, Dark-Neutral-Light Side really needs to be explored more and improved upon. As it is, being 100% of Dark or Light side really means nothing. Race also needs to be more then just a graphic/skin. Each race could have a perk or something that is not game breaking above standard fluff. PvE Base PvE in SWTOR is fine, it is interactive and story driven. I would just like to see bigger rolls and more diversity for companions. Maybe some dailies that require the use of a certain companion as part of the daily. Maybe more companion story arcs. Maybe some fun 8 man Heroic OPs that allow 4 companions to be used with 4 players or maybe a special daily single player Heroic that allows you to form a full group with you and your select companions. Right now companions are not being utilized like they should be. Allow companions to wear relics, add more customization, and improve many of them to be more unique, not just clones of other companions. Allow neutral companions & customizable droids to be acquired or built (these do not require story). You can take all the companion abilities, armor types, weapons, etc, and create one hell of a cool customization builder for companions. Creativity is one hell of a dangling carrot in a thriving MMO world! We all know content is king. Correct timeline content is a must too. But if they add more planets, it would be cool to see Dathomir with a new Nightsister OP. Do not create content that requires using characters from both factions. Not everyone likes grinding alts and a large majority of players do like remaining loyal to their faction. Give perks where needed for those that play both sides, but do not alienate those that don't. PvE fluff: Allow Emotes to be placed on your game macro bar. Datacrons: Add more Datacrons which are more about puzzle solving and collecting planetary items then playing Super Mario Brothers. PvP and Warzones First and foremost bug fixes and balance tweaks need to be implemented. Game engine improvements will be a must to handle large scale PvP battles and player interaction. Also, without beating a dead horse into the ground, the designers need to look into reducing & eliminating outside game programs and cheats. We have all at some point in our game time have seen something strange while PvPing that goes above and beyond normal skill and game abilities. Cheats exists, plain and simple. WZ's are fun and Arenas will be fun, but they are too small, repetitive, and limited. Going smaller with Arenas is not the magic bullet this game needs. Even in the game trailers, we see 100's verse 100's. SWTOR needs more sandbox elements for warfare, more diversity, improvements for the community, and large scale warfare with siege ability, bases, capture & control, and universe wide effects. It is after all...STAR WARS! Key planets should have battle objectives, RvR lakes (take base ideas from Warhammer), outposts (battlefield objectives), and bases (SWG) to fight, siege, and control over. This can all be mixed in with NPC's, open warfare, and PvE content. One prime planet will have a main base structure with elements of Restuss from SWG, this is what Ilum should have been from the beginning. This will be a 50-55 zone with reputation, dailies, weekly kill quests, etc. Controlled outposts can give perks/stims/consumables/rep/valor based of how long they remain under faction control. The main planet base can unlock content, loot, etc. The sky is the limit. Even crafting and crew skills can be part of warfare with slicing terminals, fortifying structures, etc. Adding correct elements of all game play will satisfy all players and give SWTOR the PvP boost it needs. Imagine being on the Imperial Fleet, and a transmission comes over the screen: Alert...Alert...Alert "This is Darth Drethtor. Imperial command has been informed that the Imperial military command outpost on Hoth is under siege. Loyal soldiers of the Empire, report for duty!" Players will now travel to Hoth (those that want to) to defend that base. The ideas are endless. There can also be random events where players siege a space cruiser, or travel into a free for all dungeon like Ancient Port Warhouse in Vanguard MMORPG, etc. Guild vs Guild options can be offered with structured rules, safe zones, and achievements. Remove expertise and restructure gear & balance. PvP should never be mainly about piling one stat, expertise was a mistake, PvP should be a full circle of all elements including player skill. New perks can be put in place for those doing PvP and Warzones. Valor = Expertise. Your Valor level will now grant defense or offense bonuses which only work in Warzones, RvR areas, and PvP open world encounters. These bonuses do nothing for PvE content. There will be 2 new mini skill trees to spend points on, Valor Defense & Offense. Valor will now be raised to 150 with awards, achievements, titles, fluff, and more. Warzones need better que management and structure for Ranked and solo players. There needs to be something for galaxy wide game play offered when factions face enemy factions. Its fun to face your allies and hone your skills, but when facing the enemy, the perks should be greater. Fixing ques is a must. How many times have I loaded into a losing WZ which right off the bat was impossible to win, or you load in and get nothing due to the time running out. Why would it pick you for a WZ match with less then a few seconds of game play? Also, who designed these Warzones? There is a drop off out of each starting point the causes damage, not a good design. Legacy/Cartel Market/VIP Legacy: As a whole, Legacy needs a tweak. It needs to connect your character and family achievement tree more. Add more stuff for crafters. Raise the Legacy level up by 10 levels with more stuff. Allow base Datacrons to be shared through Legacy. Matrix Shards and Fleet should not be part of this. Cartel Market: What's done is done with this cash cow (I am guilty myself and use it a lot). Lets just hope it does more positive then negative in the future. I would like to see items that are exclusive to stores/cons/etc. offered to players that have missed out on this stuff. Also, remove the Cartel Pack/item timer if you are transferring items to an alt. Why must you wait a day and a half to send something to your own character? It's pretty silly if you think about it. VIP: Add more VIP only items to the VIP kiosk. The game Codex and Legacy Achievement sections need to be merged into one tracking system with improved information. Crafting Crafters need more useable items to craft that are not dropped from missions or OPs. Be it fluff, armor styles, perks, or whatever. A thriving crafting community is always positive. Harvesting and crafting materials could use some tweaks and improvements. Stronger NPC's and bosses need to drop a better variety of mats. Kinda ridiculous when you kill a main boss and they drop 1 durasteel! Planet layouts with resources can remain the same. This way hunting for stuff and crew missions remain active. Maybe add or enhance a few new crew skills with elements of Bioengineer (if they ever add Creature Handler), etc. Harvestors like they had in SWG would be a great addition in some form. They should add daily crewskill specific crafting missions & harvester placement, allowing the Seeker Droid and Macrobinocular's to come into play. Also, certain planets could have planet only resources which require unique items like using moisture vaporators on Tatooine and the like. New crew skills allowing custom food and drink to be made. If PvP is even improved to a larger scale, crafters can craft turrets, bases, and other items for war. I can go on and on with stuff... I would like to thank my fellow SWTOR gamers for reading this and hopefully someone at EA/Bioware looks this over. /salute

  13. Thanks for the information fellow gamers. Would be nice if Bioware would list better information for all players to get these items (stores/codes/locations/etc.) Obviously I am not the only person that ran into these issues.
  14. I am not complaining about the EU pet at all, I just stated I lived in the States.
