On the Imperial Side, an investigation into corruption in the Ministry of Finance revealed the plot of a warmongering General and a greedy Sith lord to kill our own Imperial soldiers on Balmorra and frame the Republic for. While we have no love for the Republic, we don’t condone the murder of good Imperial citizens either, and we thwarted their plans. Greetings from the Thirteenth Legion/Vindicta! [EDIT: Updated as of 5/7/2022] (Note: You may have seen our old posts before! We’ve revised our application procedures as of June 2021 so we decided a fresh thread was in order!) The Thirteenth Legion Republic guild on the Star Forge server with a sister Imperial guild, Vindicta. You can join one guild, or both, depending on which faction you prefer! The mission of these guilds is to enjoy casual PvE and share roleplaying experiences, and most importantly, to maintain an out-of-game atmosphere of friendship. The Thirteenth Legion/Vindicta had its roots in Atlanta and has members from around the world. We are not here for pwning n00bs, high-end raiding, PvP, power leveling, or gear. If you're looking for these types of experiences, we might not be a great fit for you! We are a professional guild, which means that most members have a full-time job and run their own household. If you’re looking for people online all the time, ready to run a flashpoint at the drop of a hat, hitting absurdly high numbers for Conquest, we may also not be the best fit for you! Operations with the Thirteenth/Vindicta: We run story mode, occasionally hard mode, Ops on both factions. We’re currently recruiting for all roles! If you’d like to try an unfamiliar role, we’re happy to help teach! Our current schedule is as follows: Republic Ops at 10pm EST every Tuesday, with occasional forays to the Imperial Side. Roleplay with the Thirteenth/Vindicta: We offer roleplay sessions for both Republic and Imperial factions and often try to have one session on each side weekly, depending on who is wanting to tell a story. The current format of RP in the Thirteenth and Vindicta is a combination of tabletop style dice rolling events with homebrew rules to tell stories and what we call “social nights,” which are basically characters getting together to just converse about adventures and events of the day. Frequently social nights are where new characters are introduced, but those new character debuts can happen at any time! We’ll work with you! Intimidated by the thought of rolling dice? Understandable! It’s okay to be nervous, but we don’t bite and we’ll gladly walk you through how we do things. Dice are primarily used to help facilitate storytelling by injecting an element of drama into a session. Failing to pick the lock on a security door can create a more interesting story than if all the door locks are successfully picked. It also allows for every player to have a chance to shine regardless of if they’re playing a Sith or a Mandalorian! A failed lightsaber attack may present an opening to the bounty hunter covering their Sith companion. Roleplay nights are currently Saturdays at 7:30pm EST. However, we don’t live in that world, so we wanted to spell out some expectations up front for behavior. No racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, or other derogatory remarks about individuals, or groups, are tolerated in this guild. If you’re unsure if your comment falls into one of these categories, best keep it to yourself. You’re “just joking” or “I didn’t mean it like that” isn’t an excuse. Be mindful of your words. We are an LGBT+ friendly guild (see above) and want to create a space where all feel welcome. If you have an issue with that, best to seek guild membership elsewhere. We’re an 18+ guild! No, we’re not posting NSFW content (See below) or doing anything weird or inappropriate. A majority of our members are 30+ years old. That’s quite the age gap if you’re coming in as a high schooler! We think you’d have more fun with folks your own age. Also, we’re old and probably can’t keep up with your youthful energy. Keep it PG-13. Occasional profanity happens, but excessive swearing, or other types of vulgar commentary, won’t be tolerated. Innuendo falls under this category, too. Not everyone wants to be around those types of comments and that’s fine. Everyone has different boundaries and we, as a guild, want to do our best to respect those. **This Code of Conduct also applies to RP. Star Wars has some darker themes and those can be fun to play with! That said, even on the Imperial Side, we are still a **cooperative** RP group and even in fictional scenarios with fictional characters we should strive to be respectful of the other players we’re interacting with above all else, even if it comes at the expense of not delivering a character line you may want, or describing horrible actions your character may take. If any player states they are uncomfortable with a scenario or theme, we will honor that above any character moment/action/development and ask the player/author to make adjustments accordingly. Remember that jokes and sarcasm often fall flat on the internet, particularly with people you don’t know well. Do not spam, repeatedly post trivialities, or troll. When you get angry or frustrated, walk away for a while when you need to.. Work out problems with other players privately and offline. We’re all working adults. If people aren’t around, or are busy doing other things in-game, that is okay! We all have limited time with which to play and we should all do our best to respect people’s time. If you find yourself unable to comply with this code of conduct, you will be removed from the guild. Recruits who violate our code of conduct will be permanently removed from the guild. Status of the Thirteenth - March 2020 Guild Meeting: This month we did a galaxy wide session of Hide & Seek! Our hiders came up with clues and we raced around trying to find them in their chosen location! We had some very creative hiding spots and a good time was had by all! Status of the Thirteenth - February 2020 Guild Meeting: This month we took advantage of the rakghoul event to go clear out the Tunnel Lurker, a World Boss, and the Eyeless! Aside from some minor complications with plague a fun time was had by all! Republic and Imperial Ops: Our Friday night Ops group is still looking to expand and bring on more people, ideally an extra tank and healer. We'd ideally like to get a solid group of 12 folks as we have had in the past. The idea being to rotate groups throughout the weeks (e.g. Week X: Groups 1 & 3, Week Y: Groups 2 &3, etc) so everyone would get a chance to play and to have a pool of subs to draw upon. Happy Anniversary SWTOR! I've been with this game since the start, even though it doesn't quite feel like it's been nine years?! In terms of in-game content, I am forever grateful that the team opened up same-sex romance options. While I loved the game from the start, it stung a bit being excluded from those particular stories as I have always enjoyed the emotional connection they bring between characters and the story as a whole. Getting to flirt, and woo, Lana--and then other options as they opened up--rejuvenated my interest in SWTOR when Shadow of Revan dropped and was always something I looked forward to as the story progressed. It meant, and still means, a lot to be included on this front when LGBT+ representation--though it has improved over the years for sure--isn't always the greatest in video games. In terms of real-life, this is still game related, I am grateful I was able to find a solid guild of folks to play with who I can not only run Ops with, but also share stories and enjoy the company of. Our canon “state of the galaxy” for both the Thirteenth and Vindicta will be in line with what Bioware usually does: light-side, Republic choices. For example, Jace Malcom survived Iokath while Empress Acina met her demise (though she remains the Empress of some of our hearts <3). Status of the Thirteenth - September 2020 Happy Halloween! The only holiday that lasts a full month! Guild Meeting: This month was word boss hunting! We put the fear in the monsters on Quesh, Alderaan, and Tatooine. Republic and Imperial Ops: The Friday Night Republic Group continues to work on Dxun, the gauntlet is brutal, but we haven’t given up at making progress! We also did some more casual ops runs as well as some master mode flashpoints to keep things fresh. The Imperial Ops group is working to gear up to take on the Gods of the Machine sooner rather than later. **Our Republic Operations group is always looking for new members! Many spirits were poked and anicent tombs disturbed! Republic and Imperial Ops: Our Friday Night Republic Group remains busy! We took our first shot at Dxun last week and, while we didn’t finish it, we certainly learned a lot going through the first few bosses!
