  1. Hmm, moderator closed my unsub or staying thread and linked me to this long dead thread from 2/3. Whatever, I'll necro it. No, I'm unsubbing. To quote my earlier post: Personally, I'm unsubbing because the performance issues have hardly even been addressed, endgame is lackluster, and gear is too easy to get. The game honestly feels like WoWlite, but buggier and laggier, and it's lost that Star Wars appeal with the clunky gameplay and the traditional tank/heals/dps trinity. Plus there's no combat parsing, guild bank/calender, or other tools to help out raiding guilds... not that they'd be very interested in doing tuned-up versions of the same boring bosses with the same recycled mechanics, anyway.
  2. Your CPU is a little weak for SWTOR, which apparently is more system demanding than BF3 and Shogun II put together. I'd suggest at least an i5 processor.
  3. The only thing that needed to be test driven in development was the freakin horrible Hero engine, imo.
  4. By the way, I was talking to a friend with an i7 980 processor and a Geforce 590. He gets as low as 25 fps in imperial fleet. Obviously, he can play any other game at super high resolution and graphics maxed, dualboxing even.
  5. That's fine, but as a dps you also contribute a raw amount of damage on a particular boss, and that number is very crucial toward determining whether you beat certain enrage timers and successfully navigate the encounter. Arguing against damage meters for dps is like arguing against turnover statistics for pointguards in basketball.
  6. That's sad, dude. You really care that much about being exposed as a baddy that you'd quit if other people could see your contribution to the group?
  7. ITT: People compare SWTOR launch to a game from 2004's launch.
  8. I'm actually quitting in major part because of no combat parsing. There's no way to tell exactly how much my new pieces of gear contribute to my overall dps, making gear progression seem pointless and unrewarding. In WoW, I'd feel good about a gear upgrade because A) It's shiny and purple, which doesn't matter in SWTOR because EVERYTHING is shiny and purple, or B) It improves my dps, which I can't freakin tell because there's no COMBAT PARSING. Plus, not having combat parsing makes certain encounters with enrage timers frustrating, as you don't know who in your group is holding you back.
  9. For all those who started on launch, you have 3 more days until your SWTOR subscription renews (2/18). Are you staying or unsubbing? Personally, I'm unsubbing because the performance issues have hardly even been addressed, endgame is lackluster, and gear is too easy to get. But I can understand people staying until the March update to see how the new content is. Anyone placing bets on Bioware deciding to release the March content some time after the next subscription renewal date (3/20, if my math is right) for another $15?
  10. There is no miracle tweak besides trying to run the datacachearena and the fx files from RAM. There's a great tutorial in the customer service subforum about it. But yeah, this game's optimization is horrible. Canceled my account because of it.
  11. I gave them 2 months to fix my performance issues and add combat parsing and other important PvE features. They didn't. I just unsubbed.
  12. I found out there is no secret to enjoying this game. This game is unenjoyable unless you're doing operations, pretty much. Why I unsubbed just now :-/
  13. I can't believe I'm saying this, but SWTOR makes me think back fondly on WoW holiday events.
  14. I'm quitting, mostly because of poor performance and lackluster endgame content. I have no desire whatsoever to play these same boring raids on nightmare mode. No real gear grind in this game, just hand-me-out gear with no real value. I also don't feel the same sense of gear progression because I can't gauge my dps gains or theorycraft without combat parsing. Not to mention the game just feels boring, and there's no innovation. You guys can ride this sinking ship a little longer. I have other games to play... other Bioware games, even. Bring on ME3. I'll come back to MMOs once GW2 comes out, and we'll see whether that game lives up to the hype.
  15. No. Only doing operations now, much like WoW endgame which was all raiding. PvP is boring and laggy, no rated PvP as of yet. Flashpoints got boring. In short, I'm much better off playing singleplayer RPGs like the soon-to-be released Kingdoms of Amalor: Reckoning (also an EA title... man, I give EA a lot of money O.o)
  16. Get to 50, experience the endgame content, then tell us how you feel about the game. Until then, no players with max level characters will bother taking your opinion seriously.
  17. I can't believe they refuse hardcore raiders the ability to gauge their own dps. Yet another reason why I'll be quitting :-/
  18. I have a much better rig than you along with a Phenom II x4 and I get 20 fps in warzones :-/ Specifically, Phenom II x4 @ 3.4 ghz, 8 gigs DDR3 ram, Geforce 560 ti. Yes, I'm quitting.
  19. Then why is my game performance still pitiful a month after launch with no news of any incoming fixes?
  20. That's actually exactly what I do now in SWTOR lol. Except in the Fleet docking bay because the Imperial Fleet main lobby lags too much.
  21. It causes the developers to focus on 4v4 and lower pvp class balance, sometimes intruding on the class balance in other areas of the game.
  22. The devs themselves said not to expect a miracle solution, and I'll need +100% performance just to be over 30 fps in warzones at all times. I'll need +600% performance to be > 30 fps in Ilum op v. op. This is with a Phenom II x4 and a Geforce 560 ti. I am not upgrading for this game when I can play BF3 64-player on high settings and full 1080p + Antialiasing.
