  1. We've had a lot of new FTP members joining over the last few months, and would encourage all new RPers to apply on our website. We are also continuing to look to collaborate with other guilds, and have an active affiliate program.
  2. Shared this on our RP forums, hopefully some of our members will be making their way towards your event. We also run an affiliate program, and are particularly looking to buddy up with other active guilds. If you think this is something you'd be interested in then drop us a bell on the affiliate forum @ our website.
  3. Thanks for your interest. To answer your question, it largely varies from writer to writer. All forms are accepted, with some having preference to shorter replies and others to longer replies, the likes of which are more akin to story telling. Personally I fall towards the latter, and I would say that we have numerous very strong and committed story tellers within the community.
  4. Axiom Roleplay is recruiting! A post to post community, our users generate ~3000 RP posts per week. We now have an in-game SWTOR branch which runs RP events on Jung Ma. Pravus Axiom has been around since early 2009 and since then has been setting the standard for Star Wars the Old Republic era roleplay in a way that is entirely unique - both in game and out. Our members RP as singular, original characters in group driven storylines and settings on our dedicated guild website which was voted in the "top ten best community websites" on Bioware's Star Wars the Old Republic official site. We are currently on the lookout for new members - but keep in mind that we're always looking for skilled forum role-players as well, so owning the Old Republic game is not a requirement - though it would be extremely helpful! So, if you're the type of person that loves Star Wars roleplay and loves meeting new people in a setting that promotes the free exchange of ideas, then I encourage you to seek us out! All interested SWTOR role-players are invited to join our forums at http://pravusaxiom.com/swtor/newforum May the Force be with you, friends - and may all your adventures be grand ones!
  5. Why a vanguard for ball carrying, and why shadow for off tank? Personally I would do away with the vanguard and take another shadow tank, far more useful as a ball carrier/snatcher... then switch out a gunslinger for any trooper DPS for grav shot spam.
  6. The answer to your question is on future content. They have at least 6 months worth of content fully voiced already; you don't think they would be able to push out new content every month without having planned and produced it in advance, would you? Any MMO vet can see that they have massive teams working on each aspect of the game. To have a massive patch including both new PvP and PvE content, along with itemisation changes, out the door in a month is either master planning or masterful development.
  7. I played darkness before it got buffed, and now that it is FOTM it pisses me off. There is now a tank under every rock on every server. The hilarious thing is that most of these are still bad and don't even use taunt.
  8. Would have preferred actually seeing you die more, there were some bits which were edited to really only show the 'best bits', and of course different music. Apart from that, it was quite good to see things from a madness perspective.
  9. I wouldn't sacrifice anything to do with shielding if you cannot push to 40% defense -at least- I was very, very skeptical tanking until I could push past 40% defense, and focused entirely on buffing my shields and HP until I could do so. Things will be difficult, but eventually it shall be worth it. Just make sure you know how to tank using an assassin and you should be ok.
  10. From what I could work out whilst I geared up my tank, they had you push shields first, perhaps because that is where we are strongest. Other tiers focus on defense, which fills in the shortcomings. By the time you start getting the current 'tier 3' gears you should be able to break the soft cap when popping your CDs, meaning that you start to have a reliable defense, especially when you can regen HP with lightning. Personally I didn't switch anything out, because I felt that the HP we got was high enough, and shields high enough also, for us to not really need to.
  11. The difference between a robe, cloak and skirt is most profound. They are not skirts. They are robes. Everyone who argues for the whole trousers thing doesn't seem to know the difference between articles of clothing.
  12. Xalek = Group tanking. Khem = Single target tanking. I would also like to point out that Xalek fully geared is just stupidly good with an assassin, and of course the more mobs the more he heals for.
  13. I think the best advice is to learn how to do it your self. Learn what works for you, just because you are a Sorc doesn't mean that your rotation shall be the same as someone else's. They may have different gear to you, or a different spec. It is best you just learn how to use the class like you want to learn it, not to copy others. This goes double for your UI binding. Honestly, if I told you how I bind my UI you may not like where some keys were. It is a very personal thing, just like play style.
  14. An augment will not make up for the total loss of stats you will suffer in choosing an orange saber over an epic tier 2/3 saber, unless Bioware allow for said sabers to be modified like armour will be able to in 1.2
  15. For proof of RP on Ajunta Paal please see the guild linked in my sig I think RP has been picking up slowly, but there are many tiny RP guilds which seem to come into existence and then fall away. Speaking from experience, recruitment in the medium sized RP guilds is steady, but still slow... so plenty of people -wanting- to RP, but not doing so because they are in a small guild or solo. I mean, Friday night in Slippery Slope cantina there were 3 guilds having separate RPs at the same time at one point, with randoms popping in and out also.
  16. They were well within their right to not listen to your concerns. You must remember that first and foremost this is a game, and it is good RP practice to not God mode onto others. Increasingly scolding others because they are playing within the limits, but not how you want them to, is placing yourself in God mode. I'm sure there have been similar situations in reality which have played out in a similar fashion, with the young girls simply walking away, and not having their tongues ripped out by police... or as you put it, being put on ignore.
  17. You may find this post on my guilds forums a good place for you to start: http://pravusaxiom.com/swtor/newforum/index.php?/topic/6093-before-you-apply-read-this/ Needless to say, it is worth having an idea of your characters 'identity' before you start to RP.
  18. The problem with this, in regards to the games PvE content, is that it is impossible to uphold. You may try, you could even bend the scenarios or ignore that they even exist.... but this will not stop the game from making your character a God in low level content, and a worm in hard mode content. The best solution is having a separate RP channel to use as you go along, then just ignore the combat situations and story... so basically, RP out the start, do flashpoint, then RP out the ending. Honestly, some flashpoints are impossible to RP because of crazy mechanics which you must use, otherwise you die. RP-PvP is easier, but from personal experience there is always someone in the opposite guild who is willing to ruin the story line for everyone by attempting to kill someone in your guild whilst the RP part is going on... Either way, check out the link in my signature for some actual RP on a RP server.
  19. You don't need it to crit because there are better mods to put in anyway. They appear to be simply for people to choose certain skins/sounds.
  20. Same with as everyone else, I have only had 2 mails. Bioware is hotter on this than any other company.
  21. Take it from a fully epic geared tank, no, it is not a must.
  22. I haven't done a PuG since someone from the largest PvP guild on my server complained at me for low DPS when he was tanking a HM in greens. I then promptly specced tank and now spank everything my self. PuGs are the worst I have ever seen in this game, honestly, most don't have a clue.
  23. Tonight we just did a scouting mission to low level Republic towns on Tatooine. This enabled us to have both high levels and low levels in an ops, so we could bring a lot of our guild in an organised fashion. We used a separate RP channel for RP, and the ops channel for OOC. I was actually the tank and was being healed by a low level healer as we killed the town champions, which felt like real synergy. From this we were able to do some PvP and mix in some RP also. Would certainly think of doing it again. Trying to figure out how we can emulate NPC talking, such as in SWG, but I see no other choice apart from making people use alt characters?
