  1. When I played EverQuest through a couple waves of server merges, they were very explicit about telling the players that, though the server retained one of the two names, it was considered a new server, and the players from both old servers were merged as equals. I’m on SS as a result of whatever merges occurred while I was inactive. I had three or four characters get new names, and one that was flagged as needing a change but it cleared without letting me actually change the name. A forced merge is the only reason I’d leave SS, mainly because I don’t play multiplayer and I don’t want to move characters piecemeal - I want the whole legacy moved at once.
  2. I’d be more willing to use tokens to buy additional Jawa intel items if they didn’t run on a continuous timer. I think they should run 60 minutes of game time, not clock time. That said, I’m in the 400s now. While the drop rate is low, the Jawa intel seems to about double my rate. I’ve used three, I think, while doing some long flashpoints.
  3. The last time I used it (at the GS5 launch), it was in the Account page at the very bottom of the page. It’s a link, and it can be hard to spot. Edit not the account link from the forum page, but the SWTOR.com page. My swtor, then my account, then sign into your account. Should be bottom of that page.
  4. I’m sure his “we stuck a fork in our customer base” letter will go over well.
  5. The Copero SH should have a PA announcement every 20 seconds for “House Inrokini!” No reason to leave that soundtrack in the flashpoint. Make the ability to turn it off one of the later reward track payout.
  6. I had a CC failure when the card renewed with the same account number, but a new security code. The account interface for SWTOR allowed for updating a credit card number, but not a security code. The last time I had to update to a new card, I wound up having to delete the old card and enter a new payment method. That caused all sorts of issues and reset my account status to new, so I hoped the payment would go through. The next payment failed because of the change in security code, so I had to completely change my payment because of the code. If your card renewed, that might have been your issue.
  7. I’m not big on the romances in general. I like the Revan era Lana, so several of my characters pick up on her, and I also like Theron’s voice acting and dialogue. But yeah, I don’t know what it is about Major Anri - maybe the voice, the accent, or the projected confidence but I like that character a bunch as well.
  8. I did the classic “see the GS6 announcement, sign up and it’s too soon” bit. Hopefully it will go soon. The only character I’m actively leveling is almost ready to start Corellia, and the only good thing about Corellia is finishing it.
  9. If they were listening to just a few forum whiners, they’d have responded to the dozens asking for a chance at Altuur.
  10. It’s interesting that they had to take down all the servers to move Leviathan. There’s obviously some cross connection between the systems. If they were fully independent, whoever is running the show could stop and restart each of them individually. As I recall when Star Forge needed attention earlier this summer, Satele Shan was bounced as well. Any word on performance changes for Leviathan? Is the latency improved?
  11. My understanding of the official seasons (if there is one) is Spring lasts from the vernal equinox to the summer solstice, then summer lasts from the solstice to the autumnal equinox, when fall begins. Fall lasts from the autumnal equinox to the winter solstice, and winter lasts from the solstice to the vernal equinox. Then it all repeats. Here in south Texas, practical summer lasts from mid-May to mid-October. Spring and fall are variable, and winter lasts about 6 weeks in January and February. If your garden isn’t planted by March, the sun will likely burn it up before harvest is done.
  12. I played the first 18 months or so, starting at early access. Going from a memory more than 10 years ago, there was a large thread early in the game where the developers were taken to task (fairly severely as I recall) for too many very revealing outfits. The developers agreed to back off the skin and provide outfits that covered a great deal more. As far as the outfits Steve detailed, I don’t think many are generally available. I think they cycle rarely through the CM, and are otherwise on the GTN at extravagant prices. I’m sure he knows the availability much better than I. I find the slave girl outfits a little too skimpy for running around in public, and much of the rest not all that attractive. I’d like something sexy but not too revealing for my female characters, but I couldn’t really describe exactly what I’d want to see.
  13. I play solo on SS and probably wouldn’t take anything less than a forced transfer anywhere because I don’t want to. I play irregular times and durations, and I tend to log in to do something specific. It’s hard to be group oriented when nothing you do in game flanges up with group content. Of course, I’m also not posting for my preferred play style under the guise of “best for my server”, either.
  14. Short of mergers, it would be useful for whoever codes this game now to offer an account move (or legacy) at a reasonable price. The per character charge gets pretty high for someone who wants to move everyone and everything to a different server.
  15. I wonder why they’d draw the line at Endor, especially since Return of the Jedi had been out for a very long time. After all, “Hoth is supposed to be devoid of human life…” yet here it is in the game crawling with pirates, Republic troops, and Empire.
  16. I took the Republic QT to the Dune Sea and followed the column of smoke until I got the seeker senses something message. I found 2 in about 15 minutes. This was a big help.
  17. Who said anything about random, besides you? The space SWTOR occupies is likely to be significantly diminished in the next 12 to 18 months, as people find out Broadsword’s intent. There’s a space opening to claim that customer base.
  18. Does anyone have an idea of the transfer timeline? I’d guess not, since the transaction hasn’t been negotiated yet. The announcement just says they are talking with Broadsword, not that an agreement has been reached. On the bright side, there will be an opening niche for someone else to make a new Star Wars themed MMO without having to deal with SWTOR directly.
  19. Ilum can certainly use the extra content. The missions were gone before I got there, but I wondered why there was only one heroic 2. Zakuul could use some missions as well, or at least zones with sky troopers, heroic 2 or not. The sky trooper kill count in Zakuul that keeps showing up in GS could use an outlet besides running another eternal chapter. Outside an eternal chapter, Zakuul is a colossally dead world.
  20. If nothing else, the name generator should never return an unusable name. The system can run a check for availability before putting it on screen. When I was considering coming back, the first thing I did was create a FTP character to see what the game was like now. Because I never intended to keep it, I grabbed a random name. After at least 10 tries to get one I could test with, I face rolled the keyboard, just to get on with trying out the new game version.
  21. For me, it’s not that the game needs to be harder per se, I think it would be better for the players if the game got players using more of the defensive cooldowns and mitigation more consistently. There’s many times I see a mob starting to channel an attack, and I don’t bother to interrupt it or respond with a defensive ability because I know I don’t need to. At the same time, learning the discipline of when to interrupt or mitigate attacks would smooth transition to multi-player or PVP content. Yes, play would have to be harder (or a tutorial more detailed) to teach and reinforce the necessary discipline, but it’s more complex than mob hits harder or has more HP. The mobs would need to be more responsive and more intelligent. Never going to see the resources spent, but if the goal is to move players from the solo class story to multiplayer FPs and OPs, BioWare needs to do a better job of teaching the players to use the game mechanics needed for that content.
  22. I find ZO-0M to be a bit … charming in her enthusiasm. I also enjoyed whatever language the Togruta used as the turn-in character for GS2. She sounded to me like an American Indian dialect. There were times I would trigger phrases to hear her say them. I almost made a Togruta character in the hopes she’d sound the same. I thought I would like Amity. I sort of liked the tone of the language in the class missions that dealt with the Selonians. Amity, however, stretches nearly every vowel, and her language gets very irritating. I find myself hitting the space bar every time Amity starts to speak.
  23. I played for the first 18 months the game went live. I came back in September 2021 basically because I was curious if my characters were still here. I don’t have any names that are variations of canon, but oddly it was the truly made-up names that had to be changed when I returned. The characters I played the most were still there with original names. Everyone was fairly high level and most were at 50. One name was flagged for renaming, but when I loaded it, the rename flag cleared and it stayed unchanged. When the flag cleared, I didn’t even have the option to change names. I have no idea what drove the name change flags, as the account was dormant during many game changes and server merges.
  24. I finished my day working from home via Citrix, plugged in a new mouse, installed the Logitech software, and got the same behavior as Ziva with the login starting and restarting. I rebooted the PC because I couldn’t do anything with the PC while the launcher kept reloading. Instead of going straight to software uninstall, I tried SWTOR again. I got the same thing as you (again). So I rebooted again, unloaded the Logitech gaming software, and tried restarting SWTOR. I got one “checking for updates” cycle, and then I got the “disconnected for inactivity” message, and then the all-but-Satele server loading screen. I appreciate you posting your experience Ziva. I can try reloading the mouse software once the server comes back. We’ll see what happens.
  25. Maybe for 100 credits per person per page load, they can restore performance. Inflation isn’t going to cure itself, amirite?
