  1. If you mean the outfit the fem rattataki is wearing, that's the imperial dancer garb and it's sold by the security key vendor on the fleet. It's social/light armor so only useful for healing/dps BH. It would gimp the armor dr for a tank.
  2. The problem is that it's not really what an RPer wants either. Now if we could use the legacy/family tree system across numerous players/accounts, that would be fantastic. But as a solo/alt thing it's pretty meh from an RP standpont.
  3. HDMI or DVI is far and away better than the old dsub VGA connector. It seems unlikely your new card and hardware would actually have a VGA connector though (it would be blue). Much more likely it is a DVI connector (white), in which case it doesn't matter, HDMI and DVI have identical signal qualities.
  4. You were supposed to choose synthweaving. The codex entries for these two skills could not be more expilicit.
  5. I thought all primary stats gave a small boost to crit %. Not in a position where I can track down a source to verify that at the moment though...
  6. My sniper reroll got to 25 in <24 hrs of /played, through no great effort. Just solo class/story/sidequest stuff, no heroics or flashpoints or group play. This also kept me right at the suggested/yellow level for most quests, so good balance of xp vs difficulty-related downtime. I'm sure it can be done faster but a decent benchmark to see if you are on pace. I slowed down after that since I caught up to where I wanted, but based on what I remember, daily space combat is probably good time/xp investment but daily flashpoints (or fp grinding) definitely was not worth it.
  7. Proton torpedoes can only be used on a few targets. You'll notice a red pulsing cross-hair over these targets when you mouse-over them. It's mainly for bridge/command decks, the station comm arrays, and shield generators on the large ships. (Might be a few other things too, I don't recall precisely). For a target that has this extra red cross-hair, you simply hold the RMB over target until the cross-hair "locks in" (it gets closer to the center of the cursor over a few seconds and then flashes), then release to fire. If the target doesn't have this extra cross-hair, you can't use torpedoes on it. No amount of RMB holding will do anything in that case.
  8. The only consistentency I ever see in the casuals vs. hardcore debate always boils down to "do you min/max or don't you?" That's it. It's not time spent, or skill level, or dedication, or raiding, or anything like that. It is simply whether, for the tasks you are interested in (be it pvp, pve, raiding, crafting, or other), do you feel compelled to min/max your character, at practically any cost, to gain every known/possible statistical advantage, whether or not you actually have any practical need to do so? Do you prioritize these tasks above more "fun" tasks during your playtime? If yes, you are not "casual". Or do you feel fine with good enough? It bosses/opponents are dying and you are able to access and complete the content you care about, what does it matter if your toon could theoretically be more optimal? Do you see optimizing stats as pointless after a certain point, namely being the point at which you are already conquering the content you care about? Do you prioritize "fun" over min/maxing once you have reached this acceptable level? If so, you are "casual". So casual has nothing to do with time spent or activities enjoyed (pve vs pvp vs etc), or even necessarily the specific activities performed or even the outcomes gained. Casual simply means that after a certain point you no longer care about min/maxing. In contrast, non-casual means you feel compelled to prioritize min/maxing even if there is no longer a practical need for it.
  9. The gear models are inherently faction-dependent. So if there are no class restrictions on warlords headgear and it is boe, then yes you can sell it cross-faction at nar shaddaa. But it may not look the same on the republic toon as it looked on the sith toon. Edit: just to clarify, I mean that in the general sense. Lots of chest armor in particular has faction-dependent appearances. I cannot say for certain that warlord's headgear specifically will change looks since ive never seen it equipped on a republic toon either in game or in screenshots. Could be they didnt bother with a faction-specific look for that particular piece, but there's no way to know except to try it or find screenshots of the same item equipped on toons from both factions.
  10. The perceived shortage of healers and tanks in any game based on the trinity is inherent. No game design will ever change that. BW could hand out free lvl 50 healers and tanks and it wouldn't help, They could give every class a free, always available, spec independent tank and healer tree and it still wouldn't help. As long as the basic encounter mechanic is trinity-based and requires a designated tank and a designated healer, people will shy away from those roles in anonymous groups for community/social reasons, not mechanical ones. (And I stress the anon bit.. there are plenty of people willing to tank and heal for friends and guildies but not for random pugs, which is really the crux of the social issue). The best you can do with game design is to not artificially limit players by adding unneeded barriers for someone who would otherwise be willing to take on these roles. And BW for the most part has done decently with that. But no game design will ever change the inherent scarcity of people willing to perform these tasks for abusive strangers.
  11. I believe the polyplast ultramesh leggings have an identical look and those can be had off the gtn or from an armormech.
  12. Trooper Vanguard/Bounty Hunter Powertech - tank or dps Trooper Commando/Bounty Hunter Mercenary - heal or dps Jedi Knight Guardian/Sith Warrior Juggernaut - tank or dps Jedi Knight Sentinel/Sith Warrior Marauder - dps only Jedi Consular Sage/Sith Inquisitor Sorcerer - heal or dps Jedi Consular Shadow/Sith Inquisitor Assassin - tank or dps Smuggler Gunslinger/Imperial Agent Sniper - dps only Smuggler Scoundrel/Imperial Agent Operative - heal or dps
  13. How about an option that lets you filter out skin colors you don't want to see? Or an option to switch every npc in a position of power to a specific gender? Or a list of accents and dialects we dont want to hear in voice overs? Every one of these is technically feasible and can be argued for using the exact arguments used to justify the OP's request. And the counter to all of them is the same... we don't need the dev or writing teams to waste time implementing content filtering for adult gamers. There are far more important things for them to spend limited time and resources working on. If they open the door to one of these requests then they will need to open the door to ALL of these requests because there is no justification for a "same-sex filter option" that can't also be used for the examples I provided and many other equivalent requests.
  14. Coruscant and Nar Shaddaa. I love the city planets as I love feeling like I'm actually playing in a sci-fi game. If I want natural fantastical environments with ravenous animals, I'll go play WoW. Nar Shaddaa feels like I got dropped into Blade Runner, Fifth Element, etc. and is far more entertaining for me. No surprise then that I also far prefer the tech/sci-fi classes over the force users, and generally prefer the sci-fi elements of the game overall.
  15. Regarding Belsavis, and at least based on the options I choose as an Imperial Agent: Regarding Hoth, again based on my choices as an Imperial Agent:
