  1. Did your population actually drop by 10%, or are you misusing decimate?
  2. Ars Technica has been around for 13 years. That you've never heard of them is a reflection of your gravitas, not theirs.
  3. Here's a translation of 95% of the mission briefings: "Destruye diez droides. Traiga me siete de sus higados." "Que lastima! Los droides no tienen hígados!" "El emperador lo manda de todos modos, peón."
  4. Nadia Grell's species is Sarkhai. Force sensitives are extremely rare among them (based on the Consular storyline), and they seem fairly insular, so wouldn't have a tradition of smuggling or bounty hunting, and they're decidedly Republic, so being agents is out too. I think in this case, a cigar is just a cigar.
  5. No, but that's how it was expected to work, and how people quite obviously want it to work.
  6. I was under the impression that legacy gear gained stats as the character using it gained levels, so that it was always roughly equal to blue quality gear of that level. I am now disappointed.
  7. http://www.swtor.com/server-status is pretty much the best you can hope for a the moment.
  8. A full stack of Red Goo for 200 each.
  9. I'm already seeing people earn four, then stealth to an out of the way corner.
  10. Ah, you're right. I completely forgot about the ship bonuses. They're arguably the most useful stuff there is too.
  11. The only things that have an unavoidable credit requirement right now are: Legacy Fleet Pass I - III Legacy Travel I - III Rocket Boost / Improved Rocket Boost I - II The rest are all either / or unlocks.
  12. People are confusing taxes with the high level guild perk from World of Warcraft which granted an added percentage of all coin looted by the members to the guild bank. It was not a tax at all. Warhammer: Age of Reckoning on the other hand did indeed have a tax which directly deducted from the amount the guild members earned, placing the balance in the guild's coffers in a normal manner.
  13. "Oh, look. That gigantic conquest droid is covered in 500 sticky grenades! How very droll!"
  14. How's that again? Are you one of those people who constantly moves every single mod in their gear around, respecs multiple times per day, and racks up huge repair bills?
  15. A child with close eyes, huh? I wasn't aware that there was a useful pupillary distance to game difficulty ratio for determining the value of a game, so I guess I learned something today.
  16. A cousin of the wildly and tenaciously tenebrous ptarmigan.
  17. I just wish the Troopers could get a helmet that didn't look quite so much like a...mushroom.
  18. To a degree, it is. If you're using WoW as your reference point, SWTOR just isn't set up to have a tank like a Paladin holding down 12 mobs at once. That the tank does not have full control over everything in a pull is a frustration that's led some people I know personally who have always played tanks in MMO's to choose a different role in the SWToR paradigm. You're also not necessarily supposed to keep everyone at 100% health over an entire encounter. Alive, certainly, but for practical purposes 1% HP is the same as 100% as long as the party member remains alive. You'll probably feel this even more directly after the 1.2 patch, as healers have had their resource efficiency toned down a bit.
  19. An online log parser that handles everything server-side rather than client side. @OP: Out of curiosity, which language did you use to write the parser?
  20. Why PVP before 1.2? The same reason you'll be PVPing after 1.2 . For competition against other players. If you're pvping purely for gear and not for constantly developing strategy and effort to win against other players, you're missing the point in my opinion. If you can't see any point to playing now, I don't see why you'd see any point to playing later. The point of PVP is to compete against other players, and hopefully to win. Not to get shinies. The shinies just help you win to a degree (though the discussion of the magnitude of their contribution is an entirely different barrel of Mon Calamari spawn). EDIT: To the second poster, no -- all that gear you earned prior to 1.2 was not wasted. It went towards helping you compete. If you're a smartphone user, think of it like a last generation phone. Or perhaps a TV smaller than the current market standard. You bought it, it did its job, something better came along. You didn't waste your money on the item -- you paid for the use you got out of it. It might not be the biggest, brightest, or flashiest, but you can certainly continue to use it if you see fit.
  21. Mumble is cheaper, prettier, easier to set up, sounds better, is more stable, is open source, and (for me at least) uses fewer resources.
  22. It might help if you listed the brand and model of keyboard you're using, along with your version of Windows and the version number of the keyboard's driver.
  23. You can't leave out Yaddle. God knows I wish you could, but you can't.
  24. Let's see if I can do this from memory for my three 50's... Trooper - Aric Jorgan Elara Dorne M1-4X Tanno Vik Yuun Consular - Qyzen Fess Tharan Cedrax Lieutenant Iresso Zenith Nadia Grell Smuggler - Corso Riggs Bowdaar Risha Guss Tuno Akaavi Spar
  25. There's one in the open PVP area on Tatooine as well.
