  1. We were "hardcore" because we did 30 hours a week the first week to get it done. There is no and there has never been a "hard core" in this game because there has never been a requirement to do anything to that degree. Of course, the remnant is dead too now. We're playing CS GO and DOTA2. =)
  2. More people have quit because addons don't exist than people who have hung around for the same reason. Enjoy your empty F2P game. =)
  3. Well, our core of players decided to unsubscribe last night. We'll decide whether or not we're coming back when new content hits... But for now my guild is another causality of boredom and frustration.
  4. What would your children tell the other kids at school if your guild had two guildmasters? Wouldn't that be awkward for them?

  6. What's the point of being the richest guy in the world when the world is empty.... And doesn't the world being empty make you the richest guy by default?
  7. Don't get me wrong, you can play one of their cookie cutter decks and it will be pretty easy. If you make your own build though, you can pick a relatively complicated set of abilities that super compliment each other and probably double your damage output. I spent like 10 hours the other night doing target dummy practice with ACT... It didn't matter, I know, but it was fun for me. I guess if you really want it to be easy mode just get thors hammer and make your off-hand elemental then every 5 attacks you can thors hammer for the win. The min maxing of raid compositions is going to be freaking sweet too. Making sure every group has a crit buff rating, the blood lust type ability, a hit buff, etc....
  8. There's more people in my vent playing day-z, TSW, CS GO, and diablo 3 any given day at 3 oclock in the morning than there are that show up for raids in SWTOR anymore. "Do we really have to kill these bosses again? *whine*" We're not lasting much longer. Looks like you'll beat us this time CKN. ;-)
  9. You play... SWTOR... and you think... TSW... Combat is clunky? At least you're not suffering massive frame rate issues trying to kill bosses. TSW isn't the greatest MMO ever released, but SWTOR is one of the worst, and there's really nothing better to do. I love TSW because there are 526 different abilities that anyone can get, and it already has a built in full group combat log system, so I go into dungeons when I'm only in the third zone and I do 450-550 DPS while everyone else in the group is pushing 150 DPS. It's an insane descrepancy, it reminds me of leveling as an elemental shaman in TBC and doing 80% of every 5 mans damage... The skill cap in TSW is insanely high, a great tank can be both the tank and the healer by picking the right abilities. A great healer can pick a few DPS abilities and out DPS some bad DPS. Bad players hate TSW; but I guess I don't blame them too much, the reason I find the game fun is because I think it's really difficult to min max, while SWTOR is on a kindergarten level when it comes to complexity-- even in hard mode.
  10. It is too hard to ask since they're laying off all their developers!
  11. So you mean, they opened up the API, didn't have to spend millions developing the UI, the players took the direction in the way that the majority of players wanted the game to go, and the game ultimately survived? It seems like the opposite of all those things are happening here, especially the game surviving part.
  12. You guys who think UI's or addons make games easier are just plain uninformed. The challenge should be in mechanics, decision making, reaction time, educational aptitude, and general intellectual prowess. "Of all the people who have the debuff, who should I dispel?" Is a fun and potentially difficult decision to make; spending that same amount of time clicking everyones name to see who has the debuff, is IRRITATING gameplay, and not difficult at all. WoW has massive numbers of addons, and still gave us instances like Sunwell, and a few bosses in WoTLK and Cataclysm that were incredibly challenging. Look at heroic firelands, how many US guilds finished it before nerf? A hundred? With insane amounts of addons, all the information you could need, and everyone pushing crazy DPS through so many different kinds of sim tools support. Yet the game was still really difficult for the average person. The challenge shouldn't be in trying to understand what the crap is going on or playing with a UI that could have been better designed by first year MMO players. It's really stupid that some people still have to press their DPS cooldown, press their trinket, and press their next ability. One button should do all that for you, it's a waste of time and DPS otherwise. Gamers are forced to get nagas just so they aren't completely irritated by the lack of information and complex intricacy-- not difficulty, needless complexity-- brought on by this games UI. The fact that it's impossible to find debuffs doesn't make them harder to dispel, or even harder to deal with. It just means healers need to cycle through everyones portrait, or players need to clutter up vent with information like "i've got the debuff". It also makes mechanics like multiple debuf management and passing of specific debuffs between players nearly impossible. Quite frankly this game doesn't have enough freedom of information to even present difficult encounters designs. This is a very passionate issue for me, because quite frankly bioware has just made a terrible design decision in this aspect to not open up the API. Even games like the secret world which spent way less time in development are opening up the API. It's reasons like this, that SWTOR is dying very quickly. Bad development decisions lead to unfun gameplay.
  13. All they really need to do is let us make macros using their API and limit the accessibility to many functions on their API.
  14. Show me where on this anatomically correct doll exactly where the angel touched you.
  15. I shouldn't have said ever, and I should have implied predictability. Let me use a little map to explain. A............................................D ................................................. ................................................. X.............................................Y ................................................. ................................................. B.............................................C Tank at spots X and Y, raid stand at A, B, C, then D, then back to A. Moving bosses between X and Y every other sphere. Boss has big enough hitpoints, melee don't have to make any movement decisions. Just follow strat. Or if you want to simplify it even more, stack whole entire raid at A, B, C, and then D, and move together.
  16. Tanks need to rotate cooldowns the whole time they're tanking, and they cannot get hit by the bosses cleaves if they're not the one tanking because otherwise they'll get one shot by touch of the masters. I recommend picking one spot as the spot you will always tank the boss in phase 3, having one spot you will always transition from, and having your tanks / raid be positioned like so... tank a......................tank b ................BOSS................. ................RAID................. That way tank a and tank b when they come back from their kiting the purple circles will never be hit by anything the other tank is supposed to be eating, and they can run off in their own direction to drop purple circles. After months of doing this boss it's pretty much a one shot for us, and that's because of consistency. We know where every single purple puddle will be placed and what the timing of every single taunt will be.
  17. FYI the minefield robots only explode for like 15k damage. Anyone in the raid can stun one and eat the other. Or a mara/sent can UDR them both. We didn't kill those the first few months we did the instance, we just ignored them and ate them. I would say all the bosses are a little unforgiving on the DPS side if you're in Rakata, you can't make any mistakes. But, after 3-4 months, everyone in your raid should be in full best in slot even if you've never killed a single boss in ECHM.... My full best in slot has one single campaign piece-- the weapon.
  18. All I can say is... for the first boss, your strategy is wrong. Try a new one. In fact, it's even easier if you have all melee dps and only a ranged healer. The Spheres last just long enough that when the fourth one casts, the first one goes away. Surely, with the design of the room, you can find four good places to put spheres without EVER moving the boss or your melee? For the second boss... You can do this guy in full columi gear with a full melee group, it's so easy. You just need the right strategy. Look, I'm not saying QQ learn to play... I'm saying QQ learn to make better strategies. You can't just throw bodies at these bosses and expect to win.
  19. It's visible now. I wonder how many times they rewrote that post. =) At least we didn't get a 'soon', since that's trademarked by blizzard.
  20. Have you noticed that the secret world(TSW) breaks pretty much all of these trends? 1) It still has sharding; to a degree. There are only 4 or 5 servers. The difference is that they sub-divided their servers into instances, much like SWTOR has done, but to a much larger degree. One area I was in had 8 or 9 different instances, each with hundreds of players, all on the same shard... And that's just one area. A shard could probably hold a hundred thousand or more. 2) Trinity. WoW kind of broke from this with Shadow priests in TBC, because you ended up with a class that wasn't amazing DPS but did decent heals. To a degree that still exists, but in TSW now you get characters that can be any mix of the three all at once, and still be viable. You'll never be able to move away from the idea of tank, healer, damage dealer; but you can blurr the lines a lot. 3) Factionalisation is a huge problem when it comes to dividing people. WoW is still the ultimate factionalisation game, you can't even read /say chat from the other faction. TSW is about as least factionalised as you can get while still being seperate. For instance, your general chats include all the factions, and you can even group with other factions for some quests. Yeah in PVP you're against each other, but in everything else you're really not. 4) Grinding and leveling: The only way to move away from this is an elder scrolls like system; or a system like TSW where there is no leveling, or cap... At milemarks for exp you get points to spend; semi-infinitely. You can keep doing quests until you've got every ability in the game, because there are no classes. Or you can get a few quick ability points then jump right into end game and pvp.
  21. I got a legendary from a chest once, but I always make sure and put on my magic find before opening chests. Well, until they patched it so that chests aren't effected by MF anymore.
  22. This is the problem in a nutshell. Some people have had the content on farm since the second week of April, with the expectation that nightmare was coming soon. I'm down to like 14 raiders now. It's so difficult to recruit into a game we're not even playing anymore. I recruit people, and then they get frustrated because they see we're online only one night a week; with a few exceptions for PVPers. We're playing D3, or BF3, or DOTA2, but never SWTOR. The game is in a terrible place for raiders. One of the reasons we "finished" so quickly is that you could give equivalent from black hole comms, so everyone was in BIS in half the time. We got half our gear from raiding, and half from comms-- which is a stupid design to begin with. When nightmare finally hits the PTS, I'm going to have to instantly recruit 2-3 people and hope they don't suck just to field a 16 man raid... and this problem isn't just centric to my guild, it's most top guilds with competitive gamers. There's just nothing to keep the most competitive players interested anymore.
