  1. You must have left... that was also DURING... DURING the NGE. I did everything you just mentioned and I was an NGE Player.
  2. How many servers did SWTOR have at launch? How many are left now? How many still feel like ghost towns? Didn't we have an entire Oceania region? Where is that now? I'm not exactly sure how else you're supposed to feel 'star warsy'. Play a Star Wars, or any genre game these days and what do they do? They put you in an environment with recognizable landmarks and references, and let you interact with it. That's exactly what SWG did, and SWTOR is doing the same thing with the KOTOR universe of Star Wars. Those who were out to make a quick credit may have done that, but I knew several entertainers that interacted with the people in the cantina, base busts, restuss, whatever. It's something called 'social engagement', and there were a few that excelled at it. (Shout out to Ikewe!!) I'm guessing you were a Pre-CU Elder Jedi who got miffy when the NGE hit and anyone could simply 'choose' to be a Jedi. When you left you missed a lot of fun, and missed interacting with a lot of great people. If SWG was anything, it was a lot more social than SWTOR is. You can't even gather and socialize with the other faction unless you're on a neutral planet and type /say. SWG brought people together regardless of class/faction/etc. So I don't think you're going to get your wish of people to stop talking about SWG, because it was a great game to a lot of people, and something like that doesn't fade from memory.
  3. Dear Goddess, I don't even know where to begin with you. How you could compare SWTOR to SWG outside of the Star Wars commonality, is beyond me. In no way do the two games compare in terms of playability. Running and rerunning fallen empire, doing dailies or weeklies, is rerunning the same content over and over and over without deviation. It's as masochist as playing KOTOR from beginning to end and immediately starting a new game and doing it all over again... several times over. With SWG you had the freedom to choose whether you run Death Trooper content on Dathomir, go piloting in Deep Space (or wherever for that matter), or just sit in the Mos Eisley Cantina and ogle the purple Twi'lek entertainer (Which you can't have a purple Twi'lek in SWTOR) Crafting has been a joke in SWTOR since the first crafting update. Items that used to be in demand are now bought for cheap on the GTN from people who don't want or need them. Artifice is practically useless with the wide assortment of crystals available from the Cartel Packs. In SWG there was a strong crafting community. You knew your Shipwright, Armorsmith, Beastmaster, and Tailor by name. And if you frequented them enough, they may even offer you a discount now and then. I couldn't name one dedicated crafter on SWTOR, because there just aren't any. Decorate? You call what SWTOR allows us to do in our strongholds decorating? Items need specific hooks, and if you want to place your item where the proper hook doesn't correspond, you're SOL. In SWG you were able to put anything you wanted down ANYWHERE you wanted. I took pride in decorating my bunker, guild hall, and even my storage buildings with precision. I proudly displayed my armor sets and Jedi robes in SWG. Show me one set of armor in a stronghold that isn't a seperate decoration (i.e. Skytrooper armor) And gathering? In SWG you could go on planets and wander the entire planet looking for lyase enzymes, extracting minerals, killing creatures for isomerase enzymes, killing NPCs for various collections, and if you felt adventurous going into space to grind ship parts. In SWTOR you have to have the specific gathering skill, and if you're in an area where someone else is also gathering what you're gathering (slicing on Yavin) you'd better pray you're faster than the other guy. The differences between SWTOR and SWG are immeasurable, and aside from sharing the Star Wars name, should never be compared in the same light. I loved playing SWG and nothing, including SWTOR, has ever come close to the experience that I had while playing that game. If you're finding yourself 'busy' whilst playing SWTOR, then there must not be much else going on in your gaming world. No offense intended to the OP, but you wanted views... there's mine.
  4. I have never seen a more liberal use of the comma in my life. Now if only they were utilized in the correct spots, then perhaps it would have made more sense. And yes, go do your research. If you'd read the recaps on Dulfy's site you'd know that they will be releasing the entire expansion pack (Yes, I spell out the entire words) all at once. Go read dulfy.net for five minutes, and then come back here. We'll wait...
  5. The light of Shadowfire will never be extinguished. ^_^
  6. This... this is blasphemy!! How can you not like the voice of Laura Bailey? The voice of Rayne in Bloodrayne; the voice of Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket, the voice of Evangeline in Negima!; Rise Kujikawa in Persona 4; Chun-Li in Street Fighter; Lust in Fullmetal Alchemist; Jaina Proudmoore in WoW; Serah in FFXIII; Catherine in Catherine... I could go on all night. Either you don't like the sultry voice of a woman (Which is totally fine btw), or you just don't know of what you speak. Excuse me, I'm going to go watch Crayon Shin-Chan on Hulu... yes she voices Shin-Chan too!!
  7. This game barely works on the PC level. The amount of work that would have to go into this game to develop it for the console would be better directed towards making this game better on the PC level. But you and I both know that's happening at a snail's pace as it is. So stick to Battlefront on the PS4, and complain about that instead, like everyone else. Not me, mind you, I love Battlefront... what, don't look at me like that...
  8. If you represent Brooke Shields and Kenny G, it's no wonder that they haven't done anything credible in years. Your butchering of the English language has nearly given me an aneurysm, attempting to ascertain what it is you're attempting to convey. The lack of punctuation for the most part, and the addition of such where it is clearly not needed. I would think something like this would take more effort to write than it would to read. I would suggest you first get your facts straight as to when events took place. Why would founder titles be given out in after two and a half years? That's simply common sense. As my colleague Kili has pointed out, that was no longer available after the first few months. That's the point of a 'founder' title. And that's all it is, a title, not a sense of entitlement. Rather than go over every point you make to the alleged ineptitude of EA/BioWare over the development of this game, I humbly suggest you buck up, take a breath, and then take a correspondence course in basic English. You'll benefit far more from partaking in that, than you would ranting and raving in illegible posts on a game forum. Oh, and we really couldn't care less about your credit card snafus.
  9. This is what I want... and I know it's petty... vanity... whatever... but I wants it... A PURPLE TWI'LEK!!!! Is that so much to ask for?
  10. First off, I like how you never answered the replies to your 'Gamestop Preorders are only digital!' worry thread. Either we called your mistake, or you simply have a poor memory. Now, to the nitty-gritty of the matter. I don't know how many FPS games you've played before, or if you've played any of them before, but your experience is pretty on-par for these types of games these days. If you don't have the hand-eye coordination of a Korean Starcraft player on Red Bull, you're pretty much going to have such an experience. I also have this experience. As for the flying, I haven't changed the sensitivity whatsoever. I did invert the flight controls and set it to southpaw, but that was about it. I have no problem flying the X-Wing or the TIE Interceptor. In my opinion, changing the sensitivity is only going to hinder you in a dogfight, as you're not going to make the turn quick enough to escape the missile lock-on heading for your tailpipe. So what did you expect from this game when you pre-ordered it? Did you expect to be like Robot Chicken Boba Fett? Out there smokin' rebels with your EE-3, and tearing X-Wings apart with your Slave-I? Sometimes a game is only disappointing if you have unrealistic expectations to begin with.
  11. I am the aforementioned friend, and I just picked mine up from Gamestop tonight, deluxe edition, and mine came with a physical disc. I know with a lot of the console editions of games, that they come with a digital download of the game instead of a physical copy. Is this what happened to you?
  12. Y'all are from Alaska or Canada, aren't you? That is the only explanation I can think of to actually covet such desolation.
  13. For those of who are putting Hoth and Ilum because of their snowy landscapes, have you forgotten about the sheer desolation that each location possesses? If you want a snowy landscape, there's nothing wrong with ALDERAAN Snow packs, majestic mountains, treelines, and depending on where you place the stronghold, also ocean vistas! There couldn't be a more perfect location for a personal stronghold. That is, unless of course, you WANT to freeze your tauntauns off in a desolate location like Hoth or Ilum. You might as well write your epitaph on your front door.
