  1. Why? There are already quests in this game with no vo via the bounty boards, area 4 quests, bonus staged quests, and random datapads/items you click on then just scroll through some info. So wouldn't they already be complaining if they felt the game had to be fully vo? Anyways, pretty sure most are referring to the side/filler quests. Not ones that have some significance to them.
  2. What does what I find entertaining in a video game have remotely to do with real life situations? This doesn't even make any sense. Many play these for escapism from reality so if that is your defense for how they did things just further proves my point really. Not that I really care to use that example to try and prove anything.
  3. For me, it takes away the emotional value and significance of the stories that have some actual depth and arcs to them. I like how they handled it for the main story lines for the planets and your class. For the rest? Simply overkill and devalues the others. Not to mention it makes things really stand out when it comes to all the alien una buka tuka chatter repeated at times or how often your choices have you giving the same exact responses over and over again.
  4. I enjoy the game to an extent. I am not happy with the faction imbalance, populations in general on some servers, and the subpar lfg mechanics. But I am still playing the game and entertained. Just not as much as I could have if things were handled a bit differently. The whole grouping thing though is starting to wear on me. I'm tired of having to drop group quests or spend the bulk of my play time trying to get a group together. So either they put in some lfg mechanics that people will actually use and are functional or offer some free server transfers in the near future. Otherwise I don't think I'll be playing much longer. I'm not rerolling again.
  5. Some do. Some don't. Either way I can still be affected by it because if enough do then you start to see restructuring and downsizing which essentiall means less updates, less fixes, and less updates. Since they're making less money. So frankly whether I deem it to be a minor or significant gripe it matters to me if I plan on playing the game for any extended matter of time. I would think or at least hope considering this is their product and business that it would matter a hell of a lot more to them.
  6. I've been harping on this for a while with these companies and I completely agree. They have this mindset they can launch a game in the same condition that games used to be launched years ago. That simply isn't the case and at this point I'm not sure when companies are going to get it through their heads that they have a much smaller window of time to make an impression with the mmorpg players. There is simply too much competition at this point to expect many players are going to be real patient if you launch a game with core features missing or subpar. This is a rather common trend amongst the industry as a whole. ...and then they sit in wonder or are mystified why their game has amazing sales in the beginning but then drops like a rock and players are quitting at a faster pace than new players are joining the game. If you come out with a themepark oriented game then you better believe and not be surprised many are going to expect your game to have many of the fundamental concepts and mechanics in place they are used to in their other games. You can make all the excuses and reasons why you won't and frankly may even have a point with some. But if you don't then don't be surprised when your game's long term profits doesn't live up to your company's expectations or customers end up being disappointed with your product. Right or wrong the writing has been on the wall a long time far as how this goes. All you have to do is look over the long list of games in the last few years to come out with rather impressive sales or starting numbers and how they dropped off the side of a cliff over the first year of the game's life.
  7. Not really. It was an okay minigame to doa few times but after that felt rather boring and repetitive to me. Kind of irked there isn't any space PvP either. Might have kept tinkering with it if I could at least go up against other players. Although suppose in its current format that is pretty much impossible since it is on rails. Haven't bothered with it in some time.
  8. Got mine too although apparently what he says is perfectly acceptable. Rather amazing really...lol
  9. They're both not only damaging to the community but the long term health of the game because neither side of them is right or usually being even remotely objective. ...and most people do not think of fanboys as what you refer to. Not anyone with any sense anyways. Those are not fanboys. Fanboys never see a problem or issue with anything. They will also defend any and every action a company does regardless the effect it is having on the community. They will not only do this but usually justify anything and everything done in the game. If a person has an issue they are either lying, exaggerating, or simply whining. A fanboy is not simply someone that enjoys the game or doesn't agree every time with those that have suggestions or ideas.
  10. I think this will get locked shortly but your example is kind of skewed because there are many getting bunched in with the lfd crowd that are simply asking for lfg mechanics that are simply more functional and people are willing to use. So you have several arguments going on getting thrown together under the same roof. Besides the majority that get called a 'fanboy' don't simply respond with your comment. Usually it is peppered with insults itself and then they wonder why the op responds in kind. Either that or the infamous it isn't happening to me therefore must not be happening to anyone. Which seems rather prevalent around here. Amazingly, I have been referred to as both a fanboy and hater of this game. One poster in the past here even stated I was a schill for WoW. Which was amazing considering I never even brought up the game in the topic we were discussing.
  11. Really depends on the server but it is the norm on some. Especially on the Republic side since many have a way lower number of players playing that faction. I wouldn't say it is the norm across the board though. Especially for the Imperial side.
  12. Because it will somehow magically destroy the community. I mean that's what they use for lfd so guess they're going to use it for even suggesting the current lfg tool needs to be revamped. I mean it is fine and works so well. Cearly that is why most don't bother with it and instead spam chat Usually involving sitting at fleet if it is an fp yet to have a better tool will somehow increase those at fleet waiting for an fp.
  13. The tool they have now is garbage. It is about as simplistic as you can get and rudimentary at best. Not to mention the fact that hardly anyone uses it. You can still search via other planets or fleet anyways so what difference would it make if they made a tool that actually had more functionality to it? Preferably one people actually feel is worth using. Would help if it was mentioned in the tutorials as well because frankly I'm not even sure many are aware of it.
