  1. This thread makes me kind of sad actually. In the course of reading all the posts and watching the video, I had convinced myself to quit the game, and then conviced myself to stick it out, and back and forth until now I am not sure about any game that is F2P. From what all have said here about inevitiability of things happening, what does that mean for new games coming out like GW2 or MechWarrior Online? They are F2P at the onset. Are they doomed to follow the inevitible path layed out here? Why even bother playing games these days then? Let's get back to the PnP table top games.
  2. I believe it is 7am cst that they reset. So let's say you get yours on Tuesday and get 5 out of 6. If you get up early enough on Wednesday and if you can actually get in a match before 6:40 ish, you can complete and get the quest again soon after.
  3. I think Gankers are just expressing their inner Dbag that they are too afraid to show irl. But that is just my opinion about them. If you roll on a PVP server you need to expect that you are going to get ganked. It happens. Like if you go to Prison you have to accept the probiblity that you will get cornholed at some point. There you have it. Gankers = Cornholers.
  4. I agree! Weather and Night/Day cycles would be awesome. All the planets are different sizes and have different rotations. This is what I would like to see in the game. WoW was always daytime and that annoyed me greatly. The best weather I have ever seen in a game has been in EQ. Thunderstorms were incredible. Bring the worlds to life!
  5. Anyone else find similar items that should be simple but are annoying difficult? Like maybe, As a guild leader it is helpful to know when a user was last on. Be it an hour or 6 months. Why can't that be a column unto itself so it can be sorted and such as opposed to having to click on each name.
  6. Now these things may sound simple and once you figure it out, you smack yourself in the head for not seeing it right away. Until then however, it is majorly frustrtating. A couple of examples: I wanted to buy a piece of War Hero gear (Gauntlets). I had the commendations, the tokens, and the BM piece. I go up to the vendor and try and purchase and it is grayed out and says that I can't afford it. This frustrated me for days until I realized while typing up a ticket that maybe it can't sell to me because it wasn't in my inventory. Sure enough. I removed my BM Gauntlets and boom I could buy the War Hero Guantlets. Why couldn't the tool tip say something about it not being able to sell and equiped item instead of you can't afford this. Sure it's obvious...now. I wanted to buy warzone medpacks at 10 comms per. For the longest time I would have to right click like a fiend in order to get the amount I wanted. For giggles I decided to shift click on the item and it asked me how I wanted to split the stack. I scrolled it over to the amount I wanted to buy, hoping that this would work, and then clicked on Split. It allowed me to drag it over to my inventory and boom I had the amount of the item I wanted. I never saw this written anywhere (more my fault probably if it is written somewhere). There is nothing user friendly about doing what I did. I could have just as easily lost comms or items experimenting. Why can't these be more obvious. I played other games which lead me down this path. If I were a new user I'd have no clue at all. Please make the simple things simple again.
  7. There is already an 80+ page thread on the sound issue in the Customer Service forum. I have it happen to me quite often. I notice it more during a Civil War warzone where suddenly all I can hear is artificially created static. It is really bad on my ship after that. I can't do quests and hope to hear the voices much at all. It will work for some speech but not for all. It is rather frustrating and I am honestly surprised that this isn't one of the top priorities for them to fix bug wise.
  8. Yes. I am having fun. To varying degrees though and that depends on the match. I try to never drop a game out of frustration or any other reason. It's just a game but sometimes it can test a person's will. I would like to see more variety of warzones. I truly miss the WoW battlegrounds and some of the ones in Rift. I'd love to see an Alterac Valley type warzone in this game.
  9. Ummm for a while in my life I was a pvp'er IRL. I would have taken any kind of shield during that time. We'd have more players here today.
  10. I miss Alterac Valley, the old one, the one that took days if not weeks. Those were the most fun. Waiting inside a bunker until it burned down. Leaping out of a tower into the frey.
  11. If anything I'd say add 1-2 more stats that are pvp only. That way there can be some customization with the pvp gear. Go heavy defense, go heavy healing, go heavy offense. Choose one and go with it. Or make it totally different and boost support roles instead with super buffs or added range for shots or leaps.
  12. I think what is happening is that there is so much more potential and they know it but they are pacing themselves with the release of that stuff. Can't give it all at once because people who play these games are voracious with content and devour it instantly. I think where they are struggling is with the balance of how much to release. In my opinion it is not enough, not yet.
  13. The change is a good one, at least for me. Taking forever to get a win isn't any fun and I was very close to just giving up on pvp altogether. The gap between Empire and Republic was widening very fast on my server. You can have all the best moves in the world but if your damage isn't getting through, you die and they win. Sure there is the whole focus fire stuff but while you and 3 others are focusing on one player, what are the other 7 players from there team doing? Winning. I figured that if they hadn't made this change, before long people would just stop playing and the Hard Core would end up playing with themselves. But they are used to that anyhow.
  14. My normal play style is ranged. I would normally sit back and ping people from a distance. After 1.2 I wanted to change things up. I went full tactics and found myself now doing most of my damage in an "in your face" kind of way. I'm not sure if my dps went up or not but I actually see people's healthbars going down when I hit them. I love that satisfaction you get when you hear that sound that Gut makes. Usually I only hear that when I'm getting stabbed by an OP. I am doing fairly well in pvp now as well as in pve.
  15. Question. How does the IF spec hold up in a PVE environment? I ask because I would love to play this spec but because I am one of the few DPS in our guild I need to be able to pump out dps in raids and such. I am a tactics spec right now and that does pretty well in both arenas.
  16. We tried this on Saturday and spent a long time on the droid. We never finished him. I had even respec'd out to assault from tactics on my vanguard. We'd get him down to about 30k health and then we'd all die. Needless to say, we were very frustrated. I want to thank those you who posted about the kiting with the full group on the tank. I think that is a very viable way to do this as we'd have more interrupts to use. We'll try this next time. From what I have seen so far I hava to ask where the logic is in not allowing speeders? Was this an oversight? We can use speeders most of the other flashpoints and even in those where it wouldn't make sense. Why can't we use speeders in this one? The whole first part is outdoors. Even if you can't use them indoors later on, I'd be ok with that as it would make sense.
  17. I can see matches turning into a game of Hide and Seek. The winning side chasing down the last 2 people who refuse to quit throughout the WZ.
  18. People are charging into the frey with the cry of, "my guildies resubbed just for this"! Dear lord you are acting like their whole allowance was wasted. Does anyone realize how much other stuff came with the patch? Sure we tend to get a bit of tunnel vision when it comes to how we want the game to be but look at the bigger picture. I'm sure they'll have this all fixed to our liking within a few weeks.
  19. HAH you are totally correct! Sorry about that. I'm stuck at work and with how fast things move off the front page I thought there would have been a reply sooner. Thanks to those that responded. I am content with the "coming soon" standard.
  20. Think on this as well. When you are trying to get your schematics by reverse engeineering you only have to do a couple of items for Arms but think on how many slots you need to work on with Armor. One of my guildies went through 80 blue items before getting a purple for a certain slot. Take note though that things are getting better with RE come the patch because now you go from 4% up to 10%-20% and the tool tip will tell you your chances or if it is even possible. I'm Armstech and the only thing that really bothers me is that you rarely (well I never have) see a schmatic for Arms drop in a FP. My pvp weapon is far superior to anything I can make right at this time. (subject to change with patch) Long story short, You'll spend less money on Arms than you will Armor and the beneifts are up to you.
  21. I tried searching but failed to find something solid. Has there been any mention of Guild Leveling or Guild Achievements/Quests? This was a real solid thing that both WoW and Rift did that made the game much more fun for our guild.
  22. I'd much rather see a 3rd faction. Mandelorians maybe or the Eshka (probably butchered the spellings) would make a good third faction. Give us more of a DAoC feel in our PVP and such.
  23. All the other BS aside, I still do miss Alterac Valley and Arathi Basin.
  24. Would a happy compromise be that Resolve worked both ways? You get force pulled once your resolve goes up so that the next pull doesn't work? I guess that would be bad then too because you could use that to your advantage. Carrier gets force pulled up and the poor sod with the harpoon/grapple can't pull them back down. Never mind. The game is working as intended! I do agree with the lethality of the elements though. I love pulling people into the fire.
