  1. I have also been getting BSOD's at seemingly random times, sometimes once per day, sometimes four times and other days none at all. I haven't found a pattern to it and I haven't changed anything with my system. It started happening a couple days after 1.1.0 I believe. It wasn't unusual for TOR to CTD, but never did I see a full system crash. So it really needs to be addressed by Bioware. As a former programmer/debugger, I know that it's the game causing it, but I dont know how/why. As I said, never has the game caused a bluescreen (or have I had one on this system) before 1.1.0 and no system/software changes on my end in the past 6 months.
  2. Should be: if (location == paper_bag) {

    I quit

    I agree completely. I miss the days of good ol' DAoC frontiers and RVR. =/
  4. OP, quit you whining and while you're at it, stop lying too. I know, as a Powertech myself, that if you grapple the ball carrier into deathzone, it kills them AND causes them to score. You can only pull a non-carrier into spawn to kill them, and I think that's perfectly fair being that it's on a 1min CD and helps prevent being locked down into our endzone. Not to mention it prevents spawn campers. And to top it off, we can't just sit there and do it or we'll get booted from the WZ anyhow so it's only viable with ~10sec after coming out of endzone. So, stop crying and yes i'll say it, learn to play. Besides, you could always CC the guy that is going to grapple you, then score. Get more experience in pvp and huttball, then you'll change your tune.
  5. I agree that something most certainly needs to be done, and thankfully it looks like Bioware is actually working on that now. Jeff Hickman has responded to the issues taking place on Ilum and said they're working to address them. I pray that they show their might and ban or temp-ban people to really get through to them. These exploiters don't deserve to play and they're ruining everyone elses fun in the process.
  6. I understand how you guys feel, I really don't want to start back at square one. But I'm sure we can all agree on one thing, the exploiters need to be reprimanded. And maybe a rollback to the 16th-17th before these problems got even worse.
  7. Okay, I've waited patiently and now I've decided to make a post and get these vids to the right audience, the devs & CSR's. (as per CSR recommendation) Pre-1.1 Ilum used to be interesting, if you could throw an ops group of like-minded pvp'ers together, you could actually get out and get some kills. After the Republic/Empire were wiped out, you could then destroy their siege weaponry and get credit/buffs to do the dailies/weeklies. But this lead to taking turns with the opposing faction which is totally lame and helps no one but those exploiting it. 1.1 A step in the right direction in theory, but now Empire (and I'm Empire) would all huddle up inside the enemy base and farm them as they came in on the speeder. I did not partake in this "pvp". Since all the republic were getting farmed as they came in, there were virtually zero republic roaming the zone which led to legit players not finishing their daily. (myself included) 1.1a (hotfix) Sounds like a great idea! However, leave it to the exploiters to screw things up even worse for all of us who actually enjoy pvp, REGARDLESS of reward. Now we wait outside of their base and yank each other back & forth, killing them or getting killed by turrets. I told everyone to back off and let them out to give them a fighting chance. A little later apparently the reps/imps have worked out a deal and were at a capture point AOE-kill trading! Since I refuse to participate in this, I'm shunned and left out to fend for myself. No biggie right? Wrong. I get a group together and we search the zone for reps to kill that are not participating in the kill trading. They just aren't there, and certainly not in any appreciable numbers enough to complete the daily. Any reps that join get into the trade killing ops group and quickly farm their valor ranks up and up, just like the empire. This is pathetic and needs to stop NOW. I took video recordings of this going on last night in hopes that SOMETHING will be done. I've also seen many others getting fed up with this and also made recordings of this going on. I hope this does some good. Bioware, please put your foot down and either suspend or ban these exploiters and players "gaming the system". They're ruining it for the legit players and now we're getting left in the dust of this "gear grind". It's going to make it to where you must practically exploit in order to keep up with these guys. I refuse, I'll simply stop pvping before I resort to that. And for me, that is a HARD decision being the guild leader of PVP guilds in nearly every MMO I've played. Fight with honor people! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gj6EEEpSWj0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQhhP-fL_sU So, pretty pathetic eh? I say ban them, suspend them and maybe even roll all of this pvp stuff back. I have 6 peices of Champ/Centurion gear and am rank 31 (from real pvp and hard work) but would gladly give all this up for a real fix and fresh start. Those that have skill would agree with me.
  8. YES, I agree wholeheartedly! I've also fraps'd some vids of players doing this on my server, it's *********** pathetic to see on a pvp server. I don't even really understand the point of playing once they're at that point. They're turning legitimate pvp into a mindless grind by DEFINITION by doing that. Once they have all the gear and are maxed out, then what? They wont even know how to play their character and will have nothing to do, they may as well just quit & unsub now... I say ban/suspend them & do a rollback Bioware. Please.
  9. For the love of god, YES. ROLLBACK PLEASE
  10. I agree, Ilum is in a very sad state right now. Here is just 1 example of a vid I took without audio, just to get my point across: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gj6EEEpSWj0 This is from earlier this evening (technically yesterday as it's 2am CST now). Nothing but trade killing and exploiting the system, punish these people that participate in this PLEASE. They need a suspension or rollbacks, something to stop this. All of us legitimate players are getting left in the dust of these cheaters. I'm only valor rank ~32, but I've earned it the old fashioned way, good ol' PVP!
  11. I agree with both of you but especially the quoted above. DAoC was the BEST PVP MMO to date as far as mechanics. Warhammer would have potentially topped it but failed coming out of the gate due to unreliable servers and mass exodus. In either case, TOR can still succeed but something HAS to be done now. Ilum is a horrible disgrace and should be removed from the game IMO in it's current state. (at least the PVP side) It's a haven for exploiters and lazy people "gaming the system". Really, rather than constantly changing the mechanics around these ruiners, how about giving them a warning and then a suspension if they continue to ruin it for the legitimate players? And if, for some reason, they are really dumb and continue this behavior after a suspension, drop the ol' ban hammer on them. They need to learn their lesson and it's people like that, that will ruin the game over time. Just my 2 cents.
  12. Well, while I understand what you're saying and do agree that something must be done to increase the Republic populations, I think that increasing damage or damage mitigation for the underdog will only perpetuate the problem. Here's why: If a Republic player gets buffs to where it takes 2 (or more) Empire players to take them down, then the Empire will call more friends. Once the Empire buddies show up, and they will, we'll be right back to square one. A more balanced and longterm approach to this, would be to add an experience and/or monetary gain buff for the underdog faction on the server. Maybe only experience since a monetary gain could imbalance their economy, and we also don't want that. However, if the GTN's in the game became a true "Galactic" Trade Network and ALL of them in the game worked for both sides, any single faction monetary perk would not imbalance their economy because it would eventually balance out to both sides. But most certainly an experience boost to get more 50's on the underdog side would have a great impact and would be an incentive for new players (and possibly existing) to roll on that side. It should be made visible at the server select screen. It wouldn't even have to be anything dramatic either, a mere 15-25% experience increase would be enough to get the attention of most players. EDIT: Dark Age of Camelot did this back around 2001 and was one of the best (if not THE best) PVP MMO to date.
  13. *bump* (thread was on page 4 2min after posting, sheesh)
  14. Anyone care to play a game while we wait? Tell me the date you activated your pre-order code and I will attempt to predict the date you'll get in. *and no, I'm not a Bioware/EA employee nor am I attempting to impersonate one* Just for fun.
