  1. Yes, I can! Those are lists for all the schematic-based items that you can craft, per crew skill. You just go to Torhead, look up a crew skill, and set the filter to dicovery = yes http://www.torhead.com/schematics/catg/1/discovery/eq/1/and/catg/1 http://www.torhead.com/schematics/catg/2/discovery/eq/1/and/catg/2 http://www.torhead.com/schematics/catg/3/discovery/eq/1/and/catg/3 http://www.torhead.com/schematics/catg/4/discovery/eq/1/and/catg/4 http://www.torhead.com/schematics/catg/5/discovery/eq/1/and/catg/5 http://www.torhead.com/schematics/catg/6/discovery/eq/1/and/catg/6 It's up to you to track down individual schematics. Most of them come from mission skills. I have used this to learn every Armstech schematics, pre-augments. Damn augments...
  2. Should be random. I got my Custom Pistol from T2 missions, and early on as well.
  3. Just wanted to add to that. As long as I've been buying commendation modifications, I have not liked a SINGLE one. I do like one enhancement on some of the 40ish merchants. As a Gunslinger, I can never find the stats I want unless I get them crafted.
  4. I can't in fact find a Deflecting mod that doesn't come out of a Purple, but I do see some Elusive mods. Would these help? http://www.torhead.com/items/catg/2/subcatg/3/defense/gt/0/and/aim/gt/0/and/quality/4/level/1-49 for blues and oranges EDIT: Also, http://www.torhead.com/items/catg/1/defense/gt/0/and/aim/gt/0/and/level/1-49 It does exist on purple items, but good luck getting those http://www.torhead.com/items/catg/2/subcatg/3/defense/gt/0/and/aim/gt/0/and/quality/5/level/1-49 EDIT: Then again, you won't be able to RE those for anything
  5. You are missing the big picture here, and are part of the problem I'm afraid. Commendation mods are subpar at best, and are less appealing if you are also trying to keep 1-2 companions with decent gear. At the same time, mods/armoring/enhancement literally do not exist on the market - I play on Swiftsure, which I believe is still a fairly busy server, and I only occassionaly see a mod around my level - it's usually a purple mod for a force user, priced at 46,000 credits. You can buy an entire purple item for less money than that. I harvested materials as I leveled, and I have an excessive number of materials on my Armstech. The only reason I'm not flooding the market is that I can only craft so many things at a time At the same time, I would happily buy mods/enhancements at 5k, and consider a 10k or even 15k. I'd pay twice as much for decent Armoring unit. But, alas, they don't exist on the market, so I'm stuck using my Patron Armor and other crap.
  6. As Bioware says "Keep an eye on the website and the blog for updates on 1.3 and beyond"
  7. Nowadays, we can point the RE cursor at an item, and see if it is RE'able. Have you tried this with the existing mods that are missing from the list?
  8. This is true. I regularly sell low-level (11-39 so far) purple and blue Armstech items.
  9. Right now, no. In the future, yes. The most recent Q&A mentions Augment Tables, and Bioware has mentioned they intend to allow all items to be augmentable in the future.
  10. I can confirm both item boxes and world drops. A friend of mine got a purple level 26 reward box, and it contained a purple Slicing mission. I have looted several mission discoveries myself from random mobs. I have not seen that drop since 20's-30's, though. It could be that the drop chance is exceedingly low. EDIT: I have also gotten mission discoveries of all levels from chests, mostly in flashpoints.
  11. Definitely NOT Investigation. I get a LOT of crits, and not a single mission discovery. (I do however have a gazillion Armortech and Synthweaving patterns)
  12. Armstech is: - The only reliable source of barrels. Barrels are used by 4/8 classes, and by a majority of companions (now that Techblades and Techstaves use barrels) - The only current source of augmentable guns - Produces augments not available to other crew skills - The only reliable source for special off-hand weapons (Scatterguns, Vibroknives) and specialty companion weapons (less so with 1.2, but it's there) I could keep going. I really love Armstech EDIT: In terms of end-game benefit, you get end-game augments and augmentable guns.I don't believe you can craft end-game barrels as of yet.
  13. I main a Gunslinger, but recently I've been experimenting with a Scoundrel. Obviously, I'm used to sitting back and blasting things. And coming from that, it is incredibly satisfying to pull out a shotgun and blast somebody in the back with it. As a bonus, my Gunslinger is an Armstech, and I have made sure to equip my Scoundrel with purple barrels and shotguns. Her damage output is spectacular in the early 20s. (I made 3-5 extras of each, and sold everything on the GTN. Yum.) Role-wise, I see Gunslingers to be Main Ranged Dps, Suppression Fire, Finisher role; Meanwhile, Scoundrels are Resilient Healer, Frontloaded Burst Killer and Harrasser You Can't Catch. I love the Scoundrel, but I keep coming back to my Gunslinger. EDIT: As an interesting note, I have learned to use cover really well in PvP and PvE on my Gunslinger. I have employed those skills on the Scoundrel to amazing result as she is a healer. I can "tank" mobs in Flashpoints several levels above me, and I went through several non-Huttball PvP matches without dying once - because the enemies couldn't find me
  14. From what I gather, DF is not a good spec to fight Marauder in; also, SS and Saboteur have gotten nicer since 1.2. Essentially, you trade an improved ability to kill tanks for greater vulnerability to Marauders and the kind.
  15. Been rocking Saboteur on my GS, and I feel nigh invincible in PvP. So many slowing tools, so much defense, and a lot of tech-based burst. I almost never lose 1v1, win some 2v1 and can usually escape a 3v1 alive. Once I get going (play multiple rounds in a row, so people recognize me) people tend to run and hide when they see my charges land on them
  16. Short answer: Coding is like Jenga. Move a brick on the bottom, watch the top quiver.
  17. According to Torhead (which has been said to be inaccurate, but I'm uncertain) this is the formula: AbsorbDamage: SpellType=>Tech, StandardHealthPercentMin=>0.13, StandardHealthPercentMax=>0.13, HealingPowerCoefficient=>2.59, DamageType=>None, AmountPercent=>1 So it has a base amount based off a static number in the game I still haven't found, and scales at a multiplier of 2.59 with your Healing Power. So.... if MaxHealth is 6000, and healing power is 400... 6000*.13+2.59*400=1114 Obviously, most of the ability's number comes from your healing power, so check that in your stats and multiply it by I don't know, 2.7
  18. For what it's worth, Defense Screen is free and does not use a GCD. As a Saboteur, I get great use out of it with my +30% and dual use via Sabotage
  19. Okay, I just have to correct the math - Burst Volley has a 5%/10%/15% chance to proc on hit - Assuming Mainhand hits 100% of the time (accuracy), off-hand hits 30% of the time - Each dual-wield attack fires two shots As such, the chances are additive, and not averaged as they are independant of each other. Therefore, on each dual-wield shot your chance of proccing Burst Volley is: 5% = 8.3% 10% = 16.7% 15% = 25% You can see that the shots and procs are unrelated if you ever shoot Charged Burst or Aimed Shot, and miss with your main hand; your off-hand, albeit at reduced damage, will still proc Trick Shot [unless it procs on activation. then, this test is moot] (EDIT: Derp, wrong numbers)
  20. For what it's worth, I tried out "The New Corso" on my Gunslinger, and have been using him with my new Scoundrel. I actually much prefer the rocket jump, now that I'm used to it. Makes the combat smoother, and easier to control. Besides, it gets the full tanking benefit from EMP blast. Which appears to be the go-to ability as it is
  21. And gunslingers! Dont forget about gunslingers!!
  22. There has always been an activation delay - in many cases, if you activated it in a split second before death, you still died. Some people have reported increased ability lag in general. Maybe this is what you are experiencing, compounded by existing lag?
  23. I'm not 50 yet (43), but I have had a LOT of success with a straight up Saboteur build. Here is my target build: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#700bcMZMIMbRRbRrsZh.1 Shock Charge - Leg Shot - Explosive Charge - Aimed Shot - Speed Shot is a lot of damage and happens in uh... (math) 7+ seconds, only for about 3 of which they are aware of you (if in PvP). Pre-50, this is enough to kill or scare off anyone. In PvE, I never, ever run out of energy. I also am able to do major burst periods with my Cool Head refresh, and still sustain regular DPS. If something targets me, I have +60% double use shield. In fact, the shield is awesome at this point in the game. I strongly recommend you try Saboteur, as the Sabotage mechanic is awesome.
  24. I'm not 50, or PVP geared, or SS. But for what it's worth, let me give you my advice as an up-and-coming Saboteur who routinely beats Scoundrels/Ops pre-50. They may be blindingly obvious suggestions, but here goes. - Do you use Defensive Screen? It's affected by your Healing Power (however much of that we get) and essentially negates 1 attack without costing a GCD - Set yourself up with one or two access points, and use AOE to check for incoming stealthers. If you deal less DPS< it's still better than no DPS while you are dead - If they are LOS masters and are focusing you, just run away and group up with the rest of your team - Do you use Leg Shot to set up your other abilities? - Watch for their use of Dodge. It is very effective versus ourselves. - If possible, use DOTs to negate their re-stealth mechanic. Only their Dodge removes that. - Use Hunker Down proactively if you suspect they are coming for you. I have had a lot of luck predicting stealth players. Hope this helps
