  1. sad thing is healer without support suffers a lot if opponents are even somewhat smart, with support healing can become overpowered, really difficult to balance properly. I know as a guardian i can keep 2 healers pretty much busy/annoyed or if im guarding keep 1 from dying for quite a while. Usually can prevent healer healing anyone else even if i cant kill them, usually can but some take long time to solo. Even against several healers things like knockback 1 to bunch of ours while keeping others ccd/interrupted means that knockbacked will die and others become easier after. But im talking of pugs havent done any ranked
  2. isnt the whole idea of ranked that those with good groups and communication go higher and meet others with similar skill/gear/whatever. how can it hurt anyone if there lower ranked people pugging and meeting other lower ranked people. Imo it can only improve everyones gameplay, puggers "learn" to play better and some get higher rating create more teams etc. People learn to know who are good who are bad and perhaps create more 8 mans only problem is midground and those whod "play the system" by creating 2-3-4mans just to get to roll over "pure puggers" and there always will be those. So perhaps pure 8 man or pug only queus, which would cause its own qq but everything causes qq. Personally i "fear" once i learn to play gw2 i wont look back to tor, remains to be seen. More of a large fight fan myself, 8v8 is so small scale
  3. buy consumables with them, sell them for profit and/or use them
  4. Also first levels might just feel like faster just because its "new" even when starting alts youd need to level several characters timing things to get it "right" some places feel slower than others simply because some quests arent as fun as others
  5. i always felt angry when i was attacked by 2+ dps and they didnt interrupt once, surely theyd learn by 50 to interrupt some heals, that was my experience perhaps 30% of time i got attacked, i must have felt really op for those guys when people actually interrupted (even if i baited interrupt on some ability) i had hard time surviving depending on if i had 1 or more attacking me, more than 1 usually killed if nobody helped and some classes(well perhaps good players more than just certain classes) could solo me without breaking a sweat
  6. switched to dps from my healer, i dont really know rotations and such yet but its just way more relaxing to throw damage around and see people getting hurt instead of trying to throw heals around which are nullified in second or 2 from dps while being focusfired by 2-3 melee at least now that im dps that focusfire isnt on me as much, i die a bit faster than as healer but at least i know ive damaged my attacker as well instead of being speedbumb mostly psychological i guess but healing atm feels pretty meaningless dont get me started on huttball now...was in a game where ball almost never left middle due to ball carrier getting killed and both sides really tried to score passing ball and such thats for pvp in pve im still healer
  7. i have this gut feeling (im probably overly pessimistic) that single server queus on most servers will eventually end up putting premades against pugs simply because lack of opponents in premade queus so not sure if 1.2 will fix anything in that way, crossrealm queus should fix it tho
  8. we once got 8 people in same huttball, and nearly lost since we were too busy talking to each other of such a historic event. i kinda prefer pugging, its like lottery never know how they start and end up, many games i thought lost at start turned to wins (while some are just doomed from start, or won) I also cant help thinking if those 1 or 2 who left game at start are in another warzone losing and leaving again instead of fighting and actually making things happen i suppose in pugs 1 or 2 good players make bigger impact than in premades, or it feels like it
  9. bit off topic but every time i meet dps in warzones who doesnt interrupt me while trying to kill me i get frustrated. I actually once said in say "why dont you interrupt me?" and "it would really make killing me easier if youd use interrupt" Sure some kill me easily without interrupts and if enough are hitting interrupts dont really matter but it still annoys me to see people failing to interrupt
  10. its an mmo, eventually youll get better gear no matter where you start so only thing that matters is if you want to spend money to remod personally ive switched too many mods to get rid of alacrity to bother with it specially considering battlemaster token droprates
  11. probably level thing, atleast on my sawbones i had to stop healing for few secs to maintain energy high enough to sustain healing, might be similar for troopers early on
  12. 2 stack hots are somewhat useful outside nightmare modes aoe hot is better than nothing, barely, if i can spare energy and cant for some reason cast bigger heal whatever that 1,5 sec cast with upper hand and energy cost is, is useless outside trying to catch interrupt, sure it heals some but energy cost with upper hand cost is just ridiculous for what it heals
  13. sadly those would break us in pvp, but agree hots are useless in nightmare modes when people actually take damage
