  1. I sure as heck haven't pre-ordered Makeb and I actually canceled my sub with the info that has come out. No word on SGRA, No class storys, one planet and it more of an excuse for more bad PvP design than anything, nothing good in this expansion and I for one refuse to encourage this kind of behavior from Bioware EA. I love the story of theis game and really hope they can Hickman before he completely runs it into the ground but none of what made this game great is a priority for the devs at this point. I certainly think it is pre-mature to pre-order makeb with no word on SGRA or how it will be implemented. Even if you do miss out on the sale the fact is that they are sitting smuggly silent on issues they shoudl be discussing and counting on blind hope getting people to open the wallet as long as that is true they will continue the same bad behavior. It is time to take the rolled up newspaper non-payment to this dog of a game.
  2. One Planet worth of story content doesn't cut it. I'd pay far more if htey made class stories continue but as it stands between the lies and complete bungling of their entire F2P/Cash Shop management I'm not willing to give them more of my money. If they release Chapter four or new companion content maybe I'll buy it, but frankly I'll likely have moved on by then. I have till next month left on my Sub then I'm done F2P even as preffered is too restricted for me to bother with (I have too many active characters to handle 2 slots) EA may think a set of planet quests (that given past level 50+ content is going to be basically the same for both sides) is story content. It isn't it's clearly them taking a finished FREE update and trying to squeeze a few more dollars out of it. EA's blatantly mercenary management of the cash shop and everything SW:TOR and gutting of pretty much all real talent from the studio makes clear exactly where this game is headed. I don't want to follow them down that septic hole.
  3. Unsubbed yesterday 1) Bioware/EA's disturbing trend towards misinformation and outright lies in it's communication with the playerbase. 2) Lack of class story content in Makeb "expansion". I feel it shows a clear disregard for the players who have stuck by SW:TOR for it's story. 3) Forum moderation moving from a position of curation to PR. Too many posts and threads full of reasonable points well stated removed due to being critical of designers and publisher. 4) Silence on issues important to me such as SGR's, New Companions, New Races, Story Content. 5) No one I know still plays or came back with free to play due to the bungling of the free to play model.
  4. :sideeyes ME3: Oh yea that's what we need more of ...
  5. this so much this. EA you have as expected lost the so called "hardcores" Stop trying to cater to them they are not a sustainable customer base. The story of this game is what keeps people paying subs and playing. Not more of the same junk as in every other MMO out there. This is just depressing.
  6. Non-issue due to Kira = Lamesauce, T7 +Jedi = save the galaxy.
  7. With the @hallhood 's tweet as well as some of the responses we've gotten elsewhere (GLAAD etc) it really sounds to me like this mos more of the kinda standard EA/Bioware blackout on features that are not fixed in timeline or system. I know during Beta and prior they were very very closed mouth about anything they were doing until it was basically ready for release or at least test/demo. So with SGR I would guess they are either uncertain where in the timeline it'll fall or uncertain of how it will be implemented. The fact that no one has popped in to say "Oh yea it's still on our scheduled but we don't have a firm release window" is a little odd though. Dependent how EA the office has gone at this point they ma just be muzzled form admitting such a 'minor' feature has dropped from the schedule. gotta have more time to make ugly holiday junk to sell on the cartel market after all.
  8. Gamestops trashy promo mag has low editorial quality!?! Say it ain't so!
  9. Writer has a complete misunderstanding of what hte point of this F2P model is all about. It isn't made to be played for free it's made to be played ala carte. Will that pan out? it's yet to be seen. However the design is that rather than following the traditional F2P model of attract a few heavy paying "whales" to pay hundreds a month or more on exclusive items and content they are trying to reach out to those players who dropped the game after starting and offering them the option of paying just for what they want. Don't PvP don't buy it. Don't raid? Don't buy it. The idea that they should provide the entire game for free then just charge for random vanity garbage is a pipe dream.
  10. I can see it now. "Buy the Rainbow Cartel pack and gain access to all same gender romance arcs plus a single use glitter bomb! Only 1200 cartel coins!" /me rolls eyes It really is sad but I can imagine that being the next we hear about SGR. Worse though I think if that were the case the chances of it being released soon would be much higher.
  11. For some people it isn't a persona I kinda assume you're not big on the storylines/romance int eh game as it stand but if you can imagine being so and the only people you were allowed to romance were the gender you don't personally have interest in? Would kinda detract from something that you otherwise would enjoy. As for things that were done months ago if you feel strongly about it make a thread rant and rave etc... Even say you want to see that feature before SGR as it's of more value to you. that's perfectly fair. I wan't SGR there are some things I'd rather they do first anyway but I complain about those in appropriate treads as well.
  12. More information would be nice but frankly with all the restructuring going on I can kinda understand why it hasn't been brought up. Doing SGR right is time intensive. I think most of the writing was probably don but it all has to be polished then approved then sent to Lucas arts for VO then cut-scenes need to be made and tested. Considering that at the very least they need to do this for two companions for each class (and really would be nice if it was 2-3 for parity with OGR) that's at least 16 romance arcs that need to be constructed, implemented and tested. It's time consuming particularly the VO portion which requires Lucas Arts to scheduled the actors and if it is using preexisting companions get the same actors back for more VO. New SGR companions need not only romance arcs but full companions stories and insertion into the main storyline (or to be made available via cartel?) regardless they then need to also have dialog for the class story some world story scenes and affection gain/loss for all conversations established. all in all it's a huge amount of time needed and not alot of it can be paralleled. Writing comes first then editing and approval, then cutscenes are animated then they have to bring in VO actors to do the lines then they all have to be tested and put together. It is entirely possible that they are working on it but have no dates because so many things could slow it down still and with the move to free to play who knows if they had to rework this to cartel content or what.
  13. Can't stand her. Way too much "I'm a rebelous rebel who rebels!" Also she is in the way of the OTP robosexual love with T7
  14. My take is that there are some companions that are pretty well defined as being straight in some conversation options. Of course without an appropriate gendered person for them to open up to about it you won't encounter that dialog and therefore it is questionable what their sexuality is. From a purely speculative front I can say Corso at the very least has a "gay for you" kinda vibe as written so making him Bi would make sense. Some characters do reference other escapades or even have them whilst you ignore them defining that they are in fact interested in a specific gender though not necessarily disinterested in the other. Kira seems to me to be more interested in tweaking the orders nose about the whole no attachment thing than any specific gender though I hope for all the lesbians sake they don't make her swing that way as no one deserves that obnoxious lost puppy thing male female gay or straight.
  15. Well last tidbit I heard was that SGR's were not going to be with the same people as OGRs and Corso is the Femsmuggler romance IIRC. Though if there is any character to vote for swinging both ways it's Corso IMHO.
  16. Can't get rid of her but you can send her on all the most tedious/unpleasant gathering missions and never talk to her. Stick with T7, T7 + Jedi = Save the Galaxy!
  17. play it and read between the lines and you get it all but the "Why can't I quit you?" cutscene. subtext slightly more subtle than fast and furious franchise but only slightly,
  18. On a lighter note if you haven't played through the smuggle storyline yet between the awkward shyness and weird jealousy if you flirt with anyone else Corso/Male smuggler puts the Romance in Bromance. Unfortunately he's incredibly obnoxious ... so there's that.
  19. this. fandalorian tears are so sweet. I don't get all the mando love from one character in cool armor with two lines before getting knocked into the sarlac by a blind han solo.
  20. I wont' deny that it's fairly disappointing that this wasn't in from the start but really it wasn't much of a surprise with the company behind madden and medal of honor is footing the bill it's not all that surprising that his kind of content wasn't a priority. Honestly if this game hadn't been made by bioware no one would have been surprised that it wasn't included and it probably wouldn't have gotten even the response it has from the devs. So while more and sooner would be nice I think it may be a bit overboard to declare that their response has been drastically insufficient. I was actually happy to hear that they weren't just going to open up the dialog existent to both genders, it was always a little frustrating to me in ME that it felt very much like that for the SSR's they didn't feel like gay relationships they felt like straight relationships in drag.
  21. Well without knowing the details of the SW:TOR License I can't say for certain but during development and since there has been alot of talk about work done with the team at Lucasarts and I know that most SW licensing has caveats that lucasarts/film get approval on storyline so pretty indirectly Disney will have input. On the other hand Disney has been pretty clear that lucasarts is a fringe benefit to lucasfilm and really to the star wars franchise. They want to make star wars movies TV shows and lots of merchandising not meddle with a game they have neither investment in nor profits from. Now if Bioware goes off the rails or EA starts trying to muscle in and screw with SW canon in a way they don;t like you better believe Disney will step in but that honestly would be a good thing. For whatever faults Disney may have you can not deny that they carefully curate their IPs to ensure their continued success in their respective areas. Honestly given recent history at Disney my biggest concern is that the next star wars movies are going to make me weep like a child.
  22. Personally I always took it as a combination of "because Special Forces" and "Because hero Protagonist" See thing is a trooper is not a random grunt. From your very first mission you have been promoted as the most junior member of the best of the best, Havok Squad. Even at that you are a sergeant, (Who in normal military republic or Real Life would be a rank to lead a squad), Tavus was a major as the leader of the squad so it's pretty clear from day one that Spec force has higher ranks from the bottom up than normal military. As for the RW comparison most 6-12 man spec ops teams are lead by at least a captain if not major (though this is confusing since captain means very different things dependent on branch of service.) So while in the real world there is alot more overhead and bureaucracy to the military than presented in the trooper story the ranks are not that far off for the super elite special snowflake forces of something like Havok squad (though really RW special forces are rarely that special really.) As for Garza's hands on approach there is some suspension of disbelief that needs to go on and a general acceptance that the trooper story isn't presenting the life of a soldier (even a special forces one) so much as a cinematic story in the style of an eighties action movie about special forces. Just be glad you don't end up as a wholly inappropriate baby sitter learning the value of family on Alderan or something.
  23. I most certainly do not. If they go trolling my history they deserve what they get! I think it's pretty clearly a bug frankly as that's some kind of clothing.
  24. More HP isn't bad. But it is arguably worse than more mitigation no mater how small that mitigation amount is (barring shadows who can eventually get more mitigation through self heals via HP than straight mitigation). In most cases you are probably better off stacking more in some kind of threat stat than HP if your already at severe diminishing returns for all your mitigation stats. Now that is only relevant when being healed however. For times when you solo (dailies etc, with a DPS companion for speed) there is a point by which you will get more survival time from HP than from mitigation. So long as you are being healed though the more mitigation you have the less pressed the healers will be so long as you have enough HP to survive until heals come in. In other words, how often have you actually dipped below 6K HP in a fight? Those are the only times those extra HP meant anything.
