  1. As an old returnee it's depressing to see just how much the meta has shifted in the past year while I was away from the game. I see a ridiculous amount of tank Juggs/guardians and tank assassins/shadows in dps gear. They don't die and they top the damage lists. Throw in a healer and you have an invincible 2 man team.
  2. Those were the days in Everquest anno 1999 when I sat on behind and meditated for 5-6 minutes in skeleton form with my Erudite necromancer, so that I could pull another Barbarian from the fisher village in west karana and fear kite it. This was just so fun so I did it for hours on end. Ultra fast leveling back then....
  3. I recently had my character on the Tofn EU server and I will say Oricon was a good step in the right direction concerning wpvp. It's a max level daily area with a lot of pvp achievements, including killing guards from opposing faction's camp. Although the server's population is lacking somewhat we've had some fun fights there.
  4. We have 7 daily grind areas at this point, 5 of them with mission terminals, I think what you're trying to avoid is already reality.
  5. Funny thing about Swtor is that even if the Engine isn't the best, the game will still run increasingly better as your system gets higher end. Some horribly programmed games run poorly no matter what system you have but that's not the case with Swtor. For instace before upgrading my PC I had no chance to compete in the new Makeb arena, it was just one big 3 fps horror show, now it runs nicely. No, you shouldn't need to update your system to run Swtor, but it WILL help.
  6. The chat bugs are what annoy me the most. The inconsistencies. Sometimes when I'm in a group I need to type /p in front of my message every time, while other times it types in group chat per default. I think like in wow it's supposed to stay in the previous chat channel you typed in but half the time it just doesn't work. Oh yeah, a group disbanding while I type my message sends it to general chat - that's a nasty one! Why have these simple bugs been in the game for 1½ year?
  7. Well you do have imp and rep forces exchanging fire with each other on planets like Ilum and Correllia. They are shooting at each others for hours without being able to land a single hit! And then when I come on my sentinel while doing dailies on Ilum, and generally minding my own business, the imp forces will suddenly find me much more interesting then those guys over there who have been pointing blasters at them the entire day. They will even leave their covers and start running after me, giving my republic friends a clear shot at them. And what happens? I have to dispatch my pursuers on my own while the republic squad is still shooting at the covers where no one is hiding anymore. Oh well, what was my point even?Just...just don't tell me SWTOR has no conflicts!
  8. It seems really silly when something like that happens to you. I thought about this and there should never be a lockout timer from a SM ops if you're kicked. I mean, how bad can this player be to justify being kicked from content that should be cleared easily? Sure you could join as a tank with 20k hp in dps gear and tank stance, but you should never get a lockout timer for being kicked. The system can't detect for what reason you were kicked, so give him/her the benefit of the doubt? Now, let's get that gear check system made /em dodges rotten tomatoes.
  9. Can I answer for the OP please? If you see a ridiculously cheap cartel item on the GTN, do a /who and find that the seller is a lvl 7 with a funny name, maybe just maybe you'll decide to buy the item in question from an actual player instead. This thread is making players AWARE of the problem and a good course of action is not to feed these guys with your credits.
  10. What kind of proof do you want exactly? This guy has done some detective work, tracking down said toons, taking screenshots of them as they gradually gained the credit achievements. No, you want to discredit him, give readers the idea that he might just have photoshopped the screenshots. God forbid Bioware's had a massive exploitable hole in the cartel market for months, and not been able to / bothered to patch it yet.
  11. My eyes, MY EYES. Something is blinding me. Oh, it's just Andryah's shiny white knight armor. I think it's perfectly reasonable to let the community know what you're concerned about and perhaps try to make people avoid those heavily discounted items on the AH. This is turning into another Diablo 3 forum, where posting ANY type of concern is pointless because the white knights will tear you apart. It's sad that a few people can put such a spin on anything.
  12. The days where we sat through countless 4-8 hour raids to get enough DKP to buy an item are long gone. Personally I'm happy we have an OK crafting system in place that can actually provide you near max tier gear.
  13. At this point I'm willing to try a lot of stuff to get rid of the ability misfire/stuttering because SwtorUnleased wasn't the miracle fix I was hoping for. However Bit Defender is warning me about accessing your link and downloading a freeware program from there is making me even more uncomfortable. I'd like to manually edit the registry though.....
  14. It's very clear from Eric's answer that the higher ups are keeping him on a short leash on this one whatever that means. It's OK Bioware, you are forgiven. Those of us who are still left around here can handle a bigger breach of promise than that.
  15. I know most people who talk about their EQ days are criticized to be too romantic about it, but I still want some of that experience back. You can always talk about whether sitting for hours on end at the same spot in some dungeon, pulling mobs to your group and killing them over and over, was indeed the best leveling experience or not; but there was something about that huge world that took hours to travel across, danger awaiting around every corner. I still remember my first 1 hour travel from Halas to Freeport where I got killed in commonlands by a hill giant and had to do the trip all over again..
