  1. Yeah dude, I only do organic grinds, watch out for those "all natural" grinds, doesn't mean anything, make sure it says "certified organic." You have to grind it at 50 and not before because it would be the best entry level 50 gear for pretty much everything and as the guy said on page 1 it would penalize anyone who didn't PvP on the way up to 50, even PvErs doing flashpoints. There now you have a reason; I'd still like to know w t f an artificial grind is vs any other grind.

    Pugs ruin pvp

Pugs lower the bar for PvP so low that yes I agree they are ruining it. Pugs would not be ruining PvP if they: Called incoming Called out a strat at the start of the match Followed the strat layed out by someone at the start rather than flaming them and not suggesting another plan Passed the huttbal Grounded the huttball CCed near objectives Didn't break CC near objectives Actually attempted to rally from behind instead of leaving/afking/flaming each other Bought recruit gear And so much more! That said premades do their fair share, I love when premades use oddball strats, don't tell the rest of the WZ and then flame their pugs when they basically threw the game. This happened to the opposing team in CW the other day, the premade went right but failed to interrupt the cap and we ended up 3 capping them.
  3. On paper, yes, in effect, no. Using my gear as an example: Damage: +22.10% Mitigation: -18.10% Healing: +12.20% 100 damage ability + 22.10% = 122.10 122.10 * .8190 = 99.99 100 heal + 12.20% = 112.20 In equal gear expertise zeros out for damage but still buffs heals. You're bad and you should feel bad and you should L2P before you post stupid demands on the forums backed by your uninformed opinions. So sick of clueless malcontents and their moronic manifestos.
  4. He doesn't insinuate that at all... you just inferred it so you could sound like an elitist blowhard. Responding to the OP, no I don't think so because PT pyro has awful defensive cooldowns so if you mess up and get out of position you will die, and fast. Marauders and sins can be much less tactical and survive, I guess I'd say those classes are a little more forgiving.
  5. Maybe I overestimate their greediness and obsessive min/maxing. I feel like the deserter is usually that guy who wants to get carried for his dailies so they just quit everytime it looks like they might lose. I also like my idea because it eliminates the argument that a game you pay for shouldn't be able to lock you out if you have to use the bathroom, get a knock on the door, kid falls down, dog throws up, etc. You're free to play, the game just won't give you the rewards you've come to expect from playing. The debuff HAS to be account wide or it won't accomplish anything this game is all about alts. If you want it to be more hardcore how about the debuff locks you out of credit for 2 games or 2 hours. That seems less wrist slappy.
  6. I have been lately, the root prior to force leap, charge, etc is intended. Without it they would sometimes land outside melee range which is apparently not ok so it roots you during leap animation.
  7. Fair enough I edited that out it was like the least substantial part of my post.
  8. Needed. It keeps the numbers balanced while not affecting raids and maintains the gear treadmill that MMOers claim not to like but actually crave as they need something to work towards. Without goals, MMOers quit en masse, you guys don't know yourselves very well. The gear system they have now is actually pretty great, the fact there are so many complaints just shows MMOers are a bunch of sad sacks who can't see past their face.
  9. They should just give you a debuff that gives you 1/4 valor/commendations/credit/xp gain and makes you unable to complete your daily for 10-15 min. Let them join and drop to their hearts content just don't give them much of anything for the next game. If you enjoy PvP and are in a godawful match where your team is afk and flaming each other you can leave and still queue with your friend who just logged in you just won't get much from it. MMO players hate being restricted from doing things but they are a little more open to being incentivised/disincentivised.
  10. It absolutely does matter. Those who know how it works understand it, and use it to their advantage, those who don't are constantly frustrated when they waste stuns on fully resolved targets and mistakenly think they get stunned after it fills. You're piling ignorance on top of ignorance with a hint of immaturity... The even sadder thing is it won't get better; people whining about resolve are like football fans who cuss at the quarterback when he gets sacked because the guard misses a block or rage at the receiver for not catching a ball that was thrown way behind him. I'm imagining trying to teach one of you tools how to drive stick: You: "This car is broken it doesn't go." Me: "It works fine you just have to learn to drive stick let me show you." You: "I don't care if it works I'm frustrated and I hate this car!"
  11. Yeah I'm really impressed with how fast this thread gets knocked back to page two by those whiny kids who share a brain. Sticky please? This game is loaded with awful PvPers and they are too cranky in game to listen to anyone there needs to be a sticky like this and the guy who started the thread should be able to moderate his own sticky and get rid of pointless posts like this one.
  12. We schooled every guild short of Naxx guilds (vanilla) in our blue PvP sets with a couple WL/HWL mixed in (not many cuz they always quit after hitting whatever rank they were going for). That doesn't mean it wasn't a problem, we essentially played with a massive handicap. On top of which the only thing that allowed us to overcome said handicap was proper CC usage due to it lasting forever. Sure it was often more satisfying but despite "walking two miles in the snow to PvP" myself, I don't wish that same harrowing experience on others, because it can be better. I love how in your mind those satisfied with the status quo are the whiny weaklings and those complaining about it are not... you need to take your own advice and L2P with the system you are given, which by the way is what "L2P" means. L2P definitely does not mean piss and moan on the forums until they change the game for you.
  13. Huttball This WZ is all about positioning and passing the middle is for people with charge abilities, if you can't get up to the bridges by jumping to someone avoid the middle. Save your knockbacks/pulls/stuns for killing people in fire/poison and getting people off bridges. Clear your side of the map, if you are spawning and the opposing team has players in position on your bridge it is your job to kill/knock them down. VoidStar Save CC abilities for after you wipe one side, don't fight at the door (door is for capping not dying to AOE in front of), when a teammate is capping stand in the notch near their spawn (this way you can see them come out and CC but they can't charge to you and leapfrog to the person capping). If you blow all your CC and our teammate isn't able to cap switch and try to cap yourself, hopefully your teammate has some CC. Standing away from the door and pulling people away + stun is a great way to give your teammate the last couple seconds of a cap. Civil War If you have 1 turret and are not able to get mid have your team fly to the side and attack from there, the enemy will have a harder time tracking your movements and you can quickly hit either turret. Stand on the wall and spot for your team (best done by ranged). Novare Coast East and West are the closest together, in my opinion they are the best two to control (being dynamic is the highest priority though). General Understand how resolve works. Why do I constantly see sorcs catch passes on the highest bridge with full resolve before they have the ball? Situational awareness. Mark healers, yours and theirs, mark their squishy high DPS, you can see the number of medals opponents have as well, if you get 3 shot early on by a guy who already has 8 medals mark him, he's dangerous. Communicate. Use numbers, call incoming, 1st just that they are coming, then take a second, and count (you don't have to be exact there is probably an extra stealther or two anyway) and put the number on the following line even if it is just 1 (remember, stealth). This goes double for premades, your strat won't work if you don't tell the pugs. Learn which way is east and which way is west. BW could help with this (compass overlay on minimap) as many people seem to get confused. Don't quit so easily. There are some really pathetic quitters that play MMOs; if you all ever want to get laid you're gonna have to learn to be more tenacious. I'm ok with getting some defender points in Civil War when it is 300-100, but the other day half my team quit while the game was tied. If you must quit, do the real PvPers a favor and actually leave the WZ. I don't leave games I start so I've been in a lot of games where my team is outnumbered at the start or just blows it and 1,2, or 3 people leave. I wouldn't say it happens often but sometimes with the replacements we are able to launch a come back when it didn't seem possible, it isn't possible when people are sitting AFK flaming each other.
  14. Spoken like a raider or someone who wasn't around for the bad old days.
  15. MMOs have a history of progressing PvE content with loot rewards and that isn't likely to change. Back in the day there was no PvP gear so you had to PvE to PvP or you would die noobishly. So they made PvP gear; but PvE gear gets updated with new sets, so they did the same with PvP gear. PvP gear has to have a stat that is adjusted as PvE gear stats inflate. Or you could ban PvE gear from PvP: "I raided for xxx hours for this gear and I can't even hit people with it! /ragequit" Or you could give the same gear from both aspects of the game: "I beat the hardest boss in the game for this piece of loot and all this guy had to do was afk WZs for 2 weeks? /ragequit" Or you could go with what we have, which I think is working nicely. The recruit set you can buy and equip the moment you hit 50 (they will probably continue to increase expertise on recruit and nothign else). Battlemaster which you can grind in a reasonable amount of time (this will probably continue to be the previous set of endgame gear). War Hero which has a modest stat increase and better itemization (dunno how they'll continue this, hopefully not by doing to WH what they did to BM) but is a long grind or require a high rating.
  16. Been playing since launch and the only thing I've seen was the stealth cap exploit in voidstar. I think they fixed that too cuz I haven't seen it in a while.
  17. Didn't I? It was in one of those posts you expertly dodged. Full of actual advice people can use, rather than some stupid chart with made up numbers from a spec you don't even play or understand. Kind of shocked you're so thin skinned given your affinity for telling people they are "doing it wrong." I'm not sure when I complained about anything... except your rampant douchebaggery and misinformation. Also, random percentages you pulled out of your *** is not evidence and being dumb enough to believe the garbage you spew may be admirable to some but not me. No you were trying to tell people how to (incorrectly) play a spec you don't play, or apparently know how to play whilst simultaneously talking down to them (irony). If people spent half as much time learning east from west and actually calling out for help when they needed it rather than thinking "duh I need to get in melee (even if I'll die in 5 secs) so I can do 100% of my damage potential!" we might actually have PvPers rather than just farmers in premades, and lemmings in pugs. Congrats, by BSing people with your absolutist oversimplified garbage you're now part of the problem!
  18. nope bwahaha jamaican me laugh Sure don't. But hey you're a nice guy, its not like you flame people and tell them they're "doing it wrong" when they're actually doing it right, or make sweeping statements discounting the viability of our most popular PvP spec while simultaneously fudging the numbers in your chosen spec and then non-nonchalantly shrug it off when someone calls you out. Oh wait you did ALL of those things while maintaining a napoleon dynamitesque level of dorky smugness and obliviousness.
  19. I didn't realize you could stack dodge on the forums. I get marked all the time, when that happens you take advantage of that 30m range you're so quick to dismiss, hang with the healers, let them come to you, get heals, keep the healer alive, kite people behind LOS and blow them up. Our other specs are so much worse vs groups the exception would be if you're in a group that needs a guard or a ball carrier/floater (AP). Most specs are useless when you play like a tunnel vision tool (this is why people hate marauders, they can tunnel vision and still do well)... with a bit of support we can survive and kite ok (you just have to be properly positioned, something you can do with a 30m range). PvP tanking while highly under appreciated is exceedingly useful. I can't count (really I can't) how many times I've blown all my defensive cooldowns, busted out a grenade and kited a bunch of tunnel visioners around a post while I get heals and in the end I'm alive and they're all dead. Did I kill them with my leet DPS? Do I care how they died? You're not wrong about how to maximize DPS, you're wrong about the importance of DPS in PvP. You wanted to make up absolutes like a forum tough guy and pull numbers out of your ***** and now you're backpedaling like a noob.
  20. Goes with the classic argument dead DPS=no DPS. This isn't PvE, maximizing damage is only important when going for a kill and WZs are actually won with objectives... I can't count the number of times I've come to a badly zerged door in voidstar and hung back hitting people on the door while reinforcements spawn/arrive; had I rushed in to melee I would be waiting to rez with my teammates. I also can't count how many times I've harassed/supported my team from above in huttball putting me in the right spot for a fastbreak or alley-oop score. Can't count how many times in civil war I fought away from the turret we're trying to cap so I can grapple+stun+snare the last guy to die/first guy to fly back while a teammate caps. Same deal for NC. If winning the WZ is wrong I don't want to be right. Our ranged DPS does suck there is no doubt about that, but DPS isn't everything, we have relatively little utility, most of that utility is usable at range and being able to hit people from range (burst at that, we just have no sustain at range) is one of the better aspects of our utility. It is very satisfying to harass a guarded healer so they can't heal while the tank they are healing gets low and then proc yourself another railshot, stun the healer, and turn to finish off the tank at range. If you fail to take advantage of having a 30yard range on most of our abilities you're doing it wrong.
  21. That's not a point at all because it is patently untrue... there is a 1.5sec GCD and taunt is not on it, it is not hard to hit two buttons in a 1.5 sec window. My single target taunt is shift+Incendiary Missle my aoe taunt is shift + Explosive Dart. Using shift to "combo" abilities the way I am is pretty normal, up your game.
  22. RB could root at the end of the snare, that would effectively be an 8 sec cd root that you could only apply in melee.
  23. Sounds like a map with siege weapons; WoW mentioned it on launch, two expansions and many forum posts like yours later it arrived... and people hated it. It wasn't even poorly done, siege warfare just happens at a slower pace: "now sit in this catapult and fling a rock every 4 secs." And people hated it: "why did I get all this gear? when I sit in a siege weapon I may as well be naked." So they made a siege APC you could use abilities out of, and people hated it: "ranged destroy me from siege tanks as melee I feel useless." I'm sure there are people who would argue that they did a bad job and it would be easy to do a good job and devs are just stupid and forum trolls are smart. Honestly, they probably didn't want PvPers; the community is bi-polar, selfish, and soft in the head. PvE communities tend to be more prone to friendly advice and theorycrafting whereas the PvP community is all about flaming each other while simultaneously whining like crazy (this thread for example). SWTOR kind of does have siege warfare and the new one have you taking control of turrets to bring down shields and then siege their installation. You just don't get to fire the turrets yourself. Voidstar is that battleship raid you are asking for. As is the case with many MMO requests what you want is practically already in the game, or something that was massively unpopular in another game.
  24. Pretty sad you've preemptively quit a class based on endgame PvP balance without having played it in endgame PvP. If I made an MMO tomorrow it wouldn't have official forums, people don't come to help/be helped by each other, they come to try and plead with BW to give them powers and freak out new players with their excessive whining. Problem is sometimes it looks like their MMO forum prayers work, so these forums are like a depressing collection of nerdy letters to a deadbeat god/santa. Its only a matter of time before one of you gets unhinged enough to take a hostage and make MMO demands, MMO dev knows you've tried everything else. Buffs and consumables be upon him.
  25. I don't have a merc so I'm not going to bother you all with my uninformed opinion about the class. But if anyone comes in this thread thinking about taking the OP seriously be sure to note that he has the least kills on his team which pretty much confirms what all the people flaming him are saying about his overall usefulness and playstyle. They did win, and I actually believe AOE DPS as pressure can be useful for your team. But I wouldn't draw the same conclusion as the OP from that. Good for him that he still enjoys his class; too bad he is also a cantankerous forum troll.
