  1. I just got a reply back from the monitor manufacturer (VIOTEK) and apparently my monitor doesn't have a driver written for it. That being the case, I don't see them being of any help in this matter. I've tried everything I can possibly think of at this point. The only thing that came close to working was setting it in picture beside picture mode and then enabling nvidia surround. Even though the resolution is displayed properly this way, one side of the monitor displays with different picture settings then the other creating a huge distracting difference from one side of the screen to the other (looks like a before and after picture). The only way I've found to play this game at all is to set my aspect ratio to 1:1 and set the ingame resolution to 1920x1080. That creates a single monitor appearance in the middle of my ultra-widescreen. It's totally not ideal but it's playable. I find this absolutely ridiculous though that this is the only game that I've loaded up that has this issue on my display. Every other game I have has at the very least, some kind of workaround that allows me to play in my monitor's native resolution. Please fix this. Being an online game with no true support for UWS is really bizarre these days.
  2. I have a monitor with a native 3840x1080 60hz resolution. I am unable to play the game due to the way the game reads the EDID instead of the resolution itself. This makes my character look like a walking hamburger. I have attempted to fix it using various methods on this forum. However with no success. It seems the only option I have left is to plead with the devs to modify the way the game determines resolution so that the EDID isn't required. I truly hope this can be achieved as I really love this game but have not played in over a year because of this issue. Thank you!
  3. Avoid the purple DoT circle and watch the green circles. Kite her close to the green circles so that when you see the red circle the green circles hit her. That will stun her for about 10 secs and allow you to wail on her. Repeat this process a couple of times and she's done.
  4. I used to do just that (stupid impulses). Until I realized that I like my money in my RL bank account and not sitting on the in-game market waiting to sell for fake currency. I usually buy things with just my stipend now instead.
  5. Even if they said "a 4th pillar", is it not odd how they beat that one to death in every single video and never really talked about the others? Its because this is Bioware, story is what they do. The other pillars are things they really aren't that familiar with. Sure this game will most likely cease to exist as a proper MMO. However, I personally am ecstatic that its moving into this direction. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed doing anything with other people in this game due to the toxic nature of the MMO side of the community. The side of the community in every single online, story driven game that eventually drives me away from it. Being able to see the full story without some jerk criticizing me for how I choose to play is a huge positive! Being able to watch every single second of the cutscenes every time I see them because I choose to, without some jerk telling me to hit the spacebar is a huge positive to me! Bottom line the story should be accessible to all players without the need for forced player interaction with others. Yes they can choose to do so but forcing it is a huge turn off. This is a type of game where the forced social nature of MMOs is actually the absolute worst thing you could do to it. That's not to say that grouping with friends who you know or respect isn't fun. But having the meat of this game being locked away unless I group with them or, in the case of OPs, a bunch of people I have no desire to deal with, is just crap. If my money each month as a subscriber continues to pay for the ability to have a game where the story has no roadblocks to access it including removing all need for a multiplayer group (leave it as optional) and the story itself is continually advanced and of Bioware quality, then I'll pay to play this game until the end of time.
  6. I think this is a perspective that is focused on the way things used to be. I think that SWTOR has really proven that it is not your typical group-centric, social-centric MMO. The majority of people that play this game and continue to play this game will always be those that have ties to the original single-player story driven KOTOR games. That is why the focus has drifted to catering to the story focused fans. The MMO side of this game has always been one of those things that feels tacked on instead of a fluid part of it. That is because from the beginning story has always been the central focus of the devs. All you have to do is watch any of the pre-launch videos and every one of them has them talking about their main pillar of story. So that being the case, it is much more accurate to say that the typical MMO community as a whole are the locusts and those who want to experience what should have been KOTRO 3+ are the ones that this game was truly meant for!
  7. I want this game to take a turn more towards a solo-centric with team-up capability style, a la Guild Wars 1, instead of the traditional Theme-park, WoW-esque MMO. Get rid of the necessity for a group of players to have to be formed to do anything endgame and scale the difficulty accordingly to the number of human players involved. If there are no human players in your group then you can substitute them for companions like guild wars 1. This way everyone can have the chance to do any of the games content whenever they wish, in whatever manner they wish to experience it.
  8. In that case I'm in great shape! Those pancakes are sounding awesome though...
  9. My prediction (and I admit its a bit of a long shot). After working in secret over the last 3 years, they finally have completed a full game engine overhaul that will add support for DX12, 64-bit client and a myriad of new and improved features to the game.
  10. I rarely have many issues with the game but usually the one's I do are exclusively to do with the UI. One thing that would help me when playing is adding a toggle to the Collections menu to include/exclude gear which at least one character on my account has unlocked. This way I can quickly find things that I'm looking for when I"m wanting to give it to an alt or if I'm trying to create a new look for my character, I'm able to navigate faster between the two types of item statuses quickly. Also if I were able to sort the items by alphabetical order or by account unlock/require account unlock that would also help with the functionality of these massive and growing collections menus.
  11. Except for episodes 2, 3 and 5...isn't that like half the movies?
  12. Anyone else notice the image of the Jedi Knight has him holding a saberstaff? Is this eluding to potential choice in saber type for our jedi toons in 3.0? Would be an awesome feature...
  13. I agree that the red characters turning pink is a HUGE turnoff. In fact its one of the primary reasons I don't play those types if I'm going DS. I also agree that the black marks on the sides of the mouth for any DS character rank II+ is just ridiculous. I'm hoping this suggestion will allow those of us that hate that part of the change to be able to select Dark I appearance even though we are Dark II+
  14. I was thinking yesterday that while we are able to turn the dark side corruption on and off with a toggle, that it would be awesome to be able to go a step further and give us a drop down that allows us to choose which level of corruption we want to use to further customize/personalize our character. The way I see it working is like so: I just unlocked Dark V with my Sith Warrior. However I don't like the way it looks on my character. Instead of forcing myself to "deal with it", I click the drop down in the character customization menu and select the Dark II rank instead, since it is right where I want my character to be appearance wise. However if I only had Dark II corruption on my character I can't select Dark III+ until I unlock that rank. This keeps it a requirement to at least play the game through the Dark V alignment rank (and gain the achievement) but also gives us the most options in insuring our toon's look as evil/not evil as we want them to.
  15. Glad to see I'm not the only one that finds the whining posts of utter torment over a game announcement delay completely hilarious! I play this game with almost every free moment I have. been a subscriber for most of the game's existence and yet I still have the patience and understanding that sometimes things don't work out the way you want them to. Time to grow up boys and girls!
  16. I'm thinking that since the quest chain leading into the expansion was called "Forged Alliances" and the title you get is called "Forger of Alliances", that this expansion might be one where we get cross faction guild functionality and cross faction ops added to the game. With both the Pubs and Sith working together to stop Revan, what better time to introduce this functionality? It would require way too much work to add defection in the game as the devs have stated many times before; this provides a work around where members of each faction can work together while still not being in the same faction. Just a thought anyway brought on by a strong desire to bring my darkside shadow to flashpoints and ops with my sith guild for quite a long time now.
  17. I'm also having an issue with my titles disappearing. It happened after I changed my stronghold title to "Vacation Retreat". Definitely needs a fix!
  18. Yes it's legit! It was answered directly by Eric yesterday here. Now that you know lets drop this before people get in trouble! lol
  19. well then it looks like you know where you need to go to get it...unless your republic in which case I'm not sure that that style is even available to them (think its imp only)
  20. on the republic side its in the cantina just outside the starport...on the Imp side its in the cantina in the starport area down in the bunker (IIRC).
