  1. If you want utility then choose something like CP, the Iron fist build or maybe a high AP build. I have no idea what you mean buy "if you kill people just fine". I'd say I was killing just fine when I could easily OHKO every single thing with rapid shots, sadly I can't. There is no such thing as too DPS in an MMO. Pretty much anything that increases utility is just situtational unlike a DPS increase that helps agaisnt anything Not choosing TD actually makes you lose combat versatility in the form of range attack. With it, Powertechs ranged DPS is almost par with Mercs and Sorcs for the first few seconds of battle. Explosive Dart is not slightly weaker but quite a bit weaker since it doesnt benefit from firebug. And especially if you stacking critical like mad a boost in critical damagei s the best.
  2. Well if PVP is an everyday thing for you use TD. You will not be as effective without it. For PVE no one is gonna kick you out for having TD.
  3. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301bMZMsZfhMbdGGMs.1 It is certainly more for PVP, but it works just fine in PVE too.
  4. I'd still say the Expertise adrenals are the best as they last longer and reduce the amount of damage you take. And of course a power relic. Surge/crit are silly as they should already be near the cap and any more of boost is a waste.
  5. For PvE this may be better, but really for proper PvE still want TD. You can sacrfice the 3%+ tech crit and the Armor peicing railshots for +9% aim since if you should have a good op team that actually use their abilties that lower armor. 90% AP is useless if enemies already have enough armor sunders to drop it to 0.
  6. Quell is a Powertech skill not a BH skill, although Powertechs are slightly ranged they are still more suited to closer range combat. Also a range increase would probably mean a cooldown increase. So no.
  7. The 15%+ critical rate can actually decide between killing something in one less GCD or even more, as well as it does more damage on things you do kill youself. Not everything you damage will die by your hand. There is no such thing as too much damage...killing things as fast as possible is never a bad thing. The other things are nice but they are not are still situational while HIB is used in every single battle. Breaking CC more is nice but isn't worth a cost in DPS. Stuns happen it is fine you got two of your own. Which not all classes have 2 in combat of their own. And reactive has an incredibly short cooldown already if you have the trait that lowers the CD when you take damage. 3 second area stun is not gonna help you disarm the bomb there will be someone out of the range who will attack you. This is incredibly situational and relies on the team standard exactly within your radius. Seriously 35% crit is not way near as good as 50% crit which is pretty much what you can reach with the eliminator set. Unless you are only fighting <12000 health scrubs in non armour I have no idea how you could possibly think you deal enough damage to ignore a massive bonus like 15%+ crit. And also switching all enchantments in the BM set to surge ones is good. But how can you get the most out of surge? BY HAVING FREAKING HIGH CRITICAL RATE. PVP is all about burst and maxing critical rate is pretty much a given for any DPS.
  8. The standard 4/6/31 has the most DPS per fight and capable at doing high damages at all ranges. You will mostly be in 10m range though.
  9. Yeah I knew you could just raise it and then drop it once you get the item. See pretty silly though. I wonder if Bioware actually considered people doing this.
  10. If you are assault then nothing is better than 15%+ crit. Anything that slightly lengths specfic abilties is junk when you can have something that boosts the damage of your main attack that can really be shot off like every 6 seconds and is a major increase in DPS. I still have no idea why people think it is the commando set, when really commandos should be using the PVE 2 peices along side with the PVP 2 peice for 15+% crit on grav round and lower CD on knockbacks.
  11. But expertise is still good even at higher values. It doesnt just give a damage boost but also a survival boost. Of course more primary stat and endurance does that too. We will have to see if the new formula is different. Also on a related note, are orange belts bracers better than augmented rakata belts/bracers? The latter are annoying as you need to have a skill to actually use them since they are BoE.
  12. This is completely false as you assume all Powertechs are tanks. DPS Powertechs die just as fast as Mercs.
  13. Lolno Pyrotech Powertech is one of the highest DPS in the game. Mercs also get their assed handed to them by interrupts. Ok perhaps if you shooting things that aren't attacking you mercs win, but in a fight where you are actually getting attacked Pyrotech Powertechs will always win. 2 pistols vs 1 pistol is silly if one class rarely uses pistols.
  14. People say it works but I doubt it can compare to the Powertech one. I'd go for the arsenal tree to take advantage of that 15% crit+ on tracer missle.
  15. Yeah. I still would say 300 surge is fine expecially with that 600 critical, 300 surge is going a lot further even if there is slight drop in stat efficency. I am also wondering if Columi augmented is better than battle master implants. Accuracy is also a good stat and is much better than surge when you have 300 surge. Avoid surge like the plague when you have 300. I only have 95% accuracy and that is from implants and earpeices etc.
  16. I recently bought a Columi exceptional implant which has an augment slot on it and wondering if it is better than the battlemaster implant. Basically a toss up between 45 primary stat and 50 expertise. Also considering that primary stats gains aren't really affected by DR.... With the rakata belts and bracers these are obviously better because they give such high bonuses of primary stat and endurance.
  17. Lolwut? So it is 10x higher than it should be? And they really havent bothered just fixing it in in a weekly patch?
  18. It gives a nice range of damage but it is the thousands and I have no idea what this means compared to critical and critical multiplyer.
  19. Never encountered an assassin that was harder to kill than an marauder. Stuns work well of course when they are using their cooldowns. And then just back away and semi kite with flame burst, as I haven't seen an Assassin use Force speed to actually gap close in the mid of battle.
  20. Oops I meant PVP. Ahem. I am not sure but I don't recall to many assasins using the pure 31 Darkness in PVP. I wouldn't know though.
  21. They have their other heals too. With their interruptable heals they can cast instant heals and last a long time. Even if you interrupt some of their heals they just switch to their other heal. They don't do much real damage on you just last long enough for a teammate to get to you. Yes this was a one vs one situation. With a group you could easily decimate his health quickly. Unlike the other healing class the Scoundrels get instant uninterupptable self heals. You really had to see it to believe it though.
  22. They do it because they have instant heals that can't be interrupt with enough endurance, they can remian on the field a long time preventing you from gettign objectives.
  23. Just saw a Scoundrel that had over 23000 health. Considering they have instant heals I can see how this would work. But seriously. What the hell? Lol.
  24. Really I doubt it is pure darkness assassins as there last abilites aren't the best for PVE. I also heard a lot about Deception assassins too.
  25. How do you feel when you create an alt on the same server but different faction? Seeing people on the fleet instead of meeting them in a warzone where you are pitted agaisnt each other to the death. And if you hide your legacy they have no idea that the low level newbie is in fact one of their most hated enemies they encounter in warzones oh so much.
