  1. I had similar questions, mainly will we get a graphics update in the future?
  2. That's kind of funny that this laugh is the first time I'm noticing it. I guess the rest of the time I thought of it as general battle noises. The laugh just feels so strange in my opinion.
  3. Ahh ok, that's sort of annoying since the buttons those skills correspond to end up glowing when they're ready anyways. I guess I'll go pyro even though I liked the Prototype version.
  4. I'm a maxed out light side character that has the Trooper storyline. For some reason I just picked up my second class, powermech, and my character now laughs half the time when I use skills. I've never seen this with any other character and I've played them all. Is this a bug? If so, is there a way to fix it? It's honestly killing the class for me which kind of stinks because I was really excited when I picked it up.
  5. In general the game kind of lacks a solid set of playable aliens. Star Wars Galaxies was a controversial MMO but one of the things it did 100% correctly was allow players to play a wide range of iconic Star Wars races. Here are some examples: Races we know can speak basic: -Rodians -Niktos -Mon Calamari -Sullustans -Trandoshans -Devaronians -Selkath (maybe not 100% sure, I know they were in Clone Wars which avoided alien babel) -Ugnaught (as seen in The Mandalorian) Races that haven't been seen speaking basic (at least not without a translator) but that would be still iconic to play as: -Ithorians -Wookies -Bith -Arconans -Gamorians -Rakata (and the other side of the head type alien that's also present in the game, I think their name starts with a C). Most of these races have human-like bodies so as an uneducated guess perhaps that would make armor adjustments not too difficult? I don't know if it's just me but I literally buy and use every race that's added to the cartel store and I think the more aliens we have the more authentic the worlds begin to feel (especially in the Republic).
  6. I know many SWTOR players were once SWG players and even more are Star Wars fans in general. With that said, in my opinion (and many other's) part of the allure of Star Wars are the aliens. I enjoy playing Cathar, Twi'lek, and even Zabrak but sadly these alien's which bioware chose are like the 'diet coke' of aliens. In SWG my two most played characters were a Wookie and a Ithorian. I loved how alien they were to what we as humans expect. So far the only races that are playable are extreamly 'human' in fact in the movies they're often played by actors with just a little bit of makeup (Cathar's excluded since they have never been in the movies). When this question was brought up pre-launch a response was given by Bioware stating: "If you can't imagine it kissing Princess Leia then don't expect to play it." In my opinion this is a sadly narrow minded view on story telling. Now that the game is out, and we've seen that Cartel Coin bought races are somewhat popular (I see a lot of Cathar these days), it'd be great if we could see some non-human aliens, even something as simple as rodian. Lastly I think it'd be neat if chat had a language option similar to what we saw in SWG. If you know the language someone chatting would say something like: Treek (Ewokish) "hi how are you?" and to someone who dosn't know Ewokish would hear Treek (Ewokish) "Ya yen ets zek?" Anyways those are my ideas, I think it'd go a long way towards "quality of life" improvements and would score Bioware/EA a few more CC purchesses. Let us play too!
  7. I would love this, it reminds me of EQ2 and it's side switching. However you may be neglecting something important: Bioware may be planing to add more class story chapters. I know that so far the only main expansion (Rise of the Hutt Cartel) has been a faction based story, however we can't exclude the fact that mabey Bioware will be adding class specific quest lines. With that said if you switched your sniper to the republic what class story would your character have? Would he/she be a trooper... a smuggler? Also they would have to hire all the voice actors to do even more reading. Afterall you'd want your british sounding accent with your sniper right? I really would love this idea, I want my BH on the republic, like you I too tend to like the republic more (racism kinda makes me sick and the empire is way to full of it). I wouldn't mind so much if they added more alien characters to the empire in high ranking positions.
  8. I'm very excited about Treek. Sadly I only have legacy lev 19 and honestly with all the stuff going on in my life it would take me a long time to grind out the 21 levels I need to get her. For what it's worth I appreciate Bioware offering her to us for CCs as an option. I know the first day she comes out I'll have my creds ready, I do wish I could claim I have a lev 40 legacy and 1mil credits but I sadly don't.
  9. The fact that TOR is a story based mmo makes that hard. Spoiler Alert: Going to Balmora as a Republic player is meant to be a chapter 2 planet as hostilities between the empire and republic are picking up where as in chapter 1 the cold war is still mostly cold. Its mainly story that defeates your idea though I do like it.
  10. Umm I've yet to see the "EMP" skill in game yet. Also with SW tech level you'd think most droids would have shielding from EMPs... unless its that awsome ion cannon in Ep.5 However... *Droid fires High Intensity Radiation Gun aka HIRG* *watches your meaty flesh burn off your bones* So see it goes both ways...
  11. I'd love to play a droid like Scorpio... we can dream... perhaps it'll be a legacy reward one day. And yes make them humanoid droids and just let them play all the non-force classes.
  12. I doubt you'll ever see this happen. What is more likely to happen is some class crossovers. Think Imperial Trooper or Republic Agent. Heck even Republic Bounty Hunters and Sith Smugglers. In the end though the classes are copies of their cross faction counterparts and new storylines would have to be written and added so you're looking at expansion material. With that said I just don't see BW spending the money and time to create a side swap. Besides being light and dark is kinda beside the point as you already can be a "light/good" sith or a "dark/evil" jedi.
  13. I have to disagree with this. I, and many other people, don't have tons of hours to play the game each day/week. Rewarding people based on time played just seems unfair. I think they should get rid of the "random" loot boxes but I don't think rewarding people for pouring tons of time into the game is fair outside of traditional level/point progression. I found that the event was advertised to lightly. Funny thing is I went to go play ME3 when the event started and I came back the day the event ended, so sadly I missed it (my fault though). I would like to see the events last a bit longer, perhaps a week or two longer. I do have to say it was exciting to see Tatooine filled to the brim and it was kinda sad to see it end and then the planet go back to being rather empty. What would be nice would be a longer "rolling" event. Events with phases. If players on a server win at an event then the problem clears up on a planet but may spawn on another. If they "lose" or neglect the event I think the situation on the planet should get worse and worse. Kinda like Rifts "rift" events... I loved how Rifts had constant events going on at all times. I know that is asking a lot but start small and just do one event for like a month and see how it works.
  14. I love how people come on and complain about an aspect of the game and then threaten to leave if it isn't fixed asap. As if their arn't millions of other people playing the game who have their own issues with the game. Funny thing is if everyone had this mindset no one would play MMOs ever. Lets face it, it sounds like you guys may not even like the game. To invest so much time (20+ legacy) all to throw it away because you're having trouble with one aspect of the game is amazingly crazy. I'm a RL father, author, and coder. Amid all of that I have like 2 hours a day to play if I'm lucky. I just unlocked legacy last night and I look back at all the nights I had to play to get their and I see this and I think "man people don't value their time investments anymore"... Anyways getting back to the topic at hand. The game is getting better each and every month. Bugs are being fixed and systems are being beefed up. BW has shown that it cares about its costumers and that it is commited to building up TOR into a great game. If you're having problems getting raids started then join up with other guilds (as stated above) or even invite non-guilded people who don't want to join your guild. Create a network that goes beyond your guild and you'll find its not hard to get the ball rolling in your direction. Unless your server has like 2-10 people in a capital during prime time then you have a problem. However I doubt that is true. Honestly what I want more than anything is a stronger group finding tool so I can do flashpoints and heroics more often... I just don't have the time to look for groups. I think that would be a much better tool than server merges which are honestly not needed.
