  1. Everytime bioware put their hands on this class, they make it worse than before. (dps perspective) If they have no plan to make a scoundrel/operative's life easier, they shouldn't even touch it. Still, they deny public's opinions and they'll keep saying "scoundrels/ops are fine". "Fine"! My ***! If you don't like this class's playstyle in this game, don't bother nerfing it. Just remove it for good! I'd have never imagined myself saying this but I'm going back to WoW. At least until Diablo 3 is out.
  2. Same here. I'm not playing this game any longer. Waiting for Diablo 3.
  3. Well, backstab isn't the opener, as long as you have Hidden Strike. About the buff part: Normally, you were able to do 4 backstabs in 36 seconds. Let's say each hit for 100 damage, then total damage is 100x4 = 400. Now, with 12 second cooldown and 5% damage increase, it's 105x3 = 315 This is not a buff. Patch 1.2 is a huge let down. I'm done with this game.
  4. Devs obviously hate us. I've just read the patch 1.2 notes on pts and I'm severely disappointed. I wasn't really hopeful about the changes in 1.2 after seeing Georg's thoughts in darthhater's interview, but I sure never expected to be nerfed again. You guys at bioware will only realize what the hell you're doing once you've destroyed this class's population entirely! My play time is ending tomorrow. I will not subscribe for this game for a long time. Farewell my scrapper and concealment friends. My sympathies with you! Mangetsu out. (By the way, someone asked which game we're going to play. I'm going to play WoW until Diablo 3 is on the shelves)
  5. Georg totally avoided the buff stacking question by going into technical details about how they watch classes. Good job! And look at this: Yeah? Better lose scoundrels/operatives than losing sorceres/sages, right? Nerf them! After all, even though he says he agrees that and there won't be many.
  6. I was gonna post this in another thread but mods are closing them pretty fast. And here I was thinking something very important was broken and they were trying to fix it. Yet they were making preparations for the freeloaders, and they chose to do it in EU peak time. I'm not having a good experience, nor am I enjoying the game. I've got 3 more days of play time. You guys just convinced me to not extend it.
  7. We fight dirty. What's the big deal? We're squishy. We can't hold still and take damage. We have to use the advantage of stealth. So why play fair? To be honest, I know how those sorcs feel. Back in WoW, I hated rogues, too (I was a hunter). But whining isn't a solution. You have to learn how to fight them. Ask your scoundrel/operative friend how he fights. Duel him all day. L2P
  8. Don't know how many targets you need to make it worth it but if you need fast aoe, carbine burst might be the only good choice between grenades and orbital strike.
  9. I'm a lvl 50 scoundrel. I placed Sabotage Charge (Explosive Probe) in my rotation after I saw pvp videos where people made good use of it. But mostly I use "chrouch" to do that because it's faster than "take cover". I occasionally use "take cover" as a gap closer. Those are the only times I use cover. As an operative, you should play like a rogue. Enjoy your new class
  10. Hmm... No. With "blink", you can't know whether you'll catch a fleeing enemy from behind or you'll teleport far ahead of him and won't be able to use backblast. Here's what i'm thinking: "Shadowstep (the name can be changed): Lobs a flash grenade, gets you behind your target in stealth. You may remain in stealth up to 2 seconds and when it ends, you get 70% resistance to all knockback and movement impairing effects for 3 seconds. Cooldown: 3 Minutes Range: 30m" Reasons: -Looks cool -This way we can use Shoot First -So we can make sure the bleeding enemy won't get away. The cooldown can be reduced by 30/60 seconds with "Flee the Scene" talent. Also we need to put a cooldown to shoot first to prevent exploits like "Stealth-> Shoot First, Disappearing Act -> Shoot First, Shadowstep -> Shootfirst" 6-9 seconds might be good. More would make it worse i think.
  11. I've found a thread about problems with bowdaar: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=346220 It might help you.
  12. When I left Nar shaddaa, bowdaar was on my ship but he was invisible. He was at the doorstep of the cargo hold, I was only able to see his name. There, I hovered my mouse accross the screen, I saw the pointer turning into a speech balloon. So, I right clicked and started the conversation with bowdaar. After that, he joined my crew. I don't know whether or not this bug is still there, but I hope what I wrote above will help you find&solve your problem. (sorry for my bad english if I didn't understand you)
  13. Don't get me wrong, i'm not threatening anyone with unsubscribing. I mentioned some bugs like "effect condition failed" and some issues with stealth on other threads. I've been waiting to see these bugs gone but devs haven't done anything yet as far as I can see. Plus, when they (over)nerfed us, they bugged K.O. too. There have been constructive feedback on the forums about how to make improvements for the smuggler. I'm not saying devs have to do all of those, but in a major update like 1.2, I'm expecting to see that devs have listened to the community, and dealt with our problems (especially bugs and stealth issues). Until then, I'm gonna wait and see (unless my guildies manage to convince me to keep playing). As far GW2, I never played GW1. and I'm not a good pvper. It's just one of the alternatives in case game update 1.2 lets me down.
  14. Well, I'd support a stealth bar which we can adjust how many slots it would occupy on the first quickslot bar. I'd probably just replace flurry of bolts with shoot first.
  15. I hope -they remove "effect condition failed" bug from backblast -they change disappearing act so that it grants perfect invisibility for 3 seconds or so, and immunity to all stealth breaking effects (both from enemies and our non-damage abilities) in that duration -they boost our dps. shoot first needs love. -they give us either knockback immunity ability or a gap closer (like shadowstep in WoW) -they make the second punch's damage (from flying fists talent) more significant -they add black outfits (jackets especially) into the game for the smuggler (seems unlikely atm) -they add a moddable weapon for Akaavi -they remove overpowered stealth detection from bosses and some mobs so that we can actually use our opener -they make debilitate root just like dirty kick does or remove rooting effect from dirty kick (not sure it fits into logic, but obviously not fair). for the moment i'm using jump+dirty kick combo to bypass the root effect. -they allow us to change the color of blaster fires of Blaster Volley, Quickshot and so on... They're always orange despite what color crystal you have. I bought a cyan crystal from the new vendor but I only see its effects on Flurry of bolts. I could've spent those credits somewhere more useful. I'll be shocked if half of these changes come in 1.2.
  16. My play time ends in 10 days. I'm planning to not extend it until I see some juicy buffs for the scoundrel in patch 1.2. Gonna keep an eye on PTS patch notes. Right now I'm gathering more info on gw2.
  17. It's tied to the heroic moment ability, yes, but imagine a bug that'll allow those abilities to be used in operations, and worse: in pvp!
  18. Yeah. Happened to me as well. Reported it a while ago (two months if i'm right). But my problem was kinda different. Some of the smuggler outfits, the chest pieces, caused my smuggler's beard to disappear. It didn't have anything to do with the helm/hats.
  19. No. As a Scoundrel, I don't like the current state of the game. -We're waiting for damage boost and some utility, and for some bugs to get fixed ("effect condition failed" bug on backblast, overpowered stealth detection of bosses and some mobs, K.O. delay after Shoot First). Also, Disappearing Act should grant immunity to stealth breaking for a few seconds. Lack of developer response is only making things worse. -It feels like the game was released before it was complete. I've seen game breaking bugs in operations and hm flashpoints. It's like they never tested the content. (can't say it's not getting better though) My play time is ending soon (10 days remaining as of today). I'll probably not extend it. I don't want to level any alts either. I'm Trying to get a diablo3 beta key these days but I realized I was too late. Keeping an eye on guild wars 2 btw.
  20. If I'm forced into combat right after a conversation, I usually start with disappearing act, then cc one and kill them one by one. If DA is causing the mobs to reset however, I can only suggest gearing/buffing up and/or bringing a friend or two with you. If you can't find any, then kill as many mobs as you can. If your companion dies and you're supposed to take down that elite by yourself, try kiting him around a large object so that you can los him. They're so stupid that I can solo champions like that. Dot him, kite him, heal up, repeat.
  21. Yes, I submitted a ticket and got a response. It was a long read but the summary was like this: "For the best performance, do not use 3G USB modems (sticks), do not use wireless connection. Connect your modem to your pc via ethernet cable". (I can write the whole thing if you want to see it.) And yes, I'm using 3G usb modem. I also tried 20mbps dsl but it was wireless. So there's nothing more I can say. Sorry for my bad english.
  22. So I wasn't the only one who's suffering from this issue. I wrote a detailed ticket to CS in game and expecting a hotfix or something like that soon. The issue is so obvious that it's almost in the state when the game first launched. Playing a lvl 50 scoundrel on Eye of Ashlane. (name: Serseri) I have 11 more days of play time right now and seriously considering not to extend it. Ability delay + scoundrel nerfs and lack of dev response + "effect condition failed" bug on backblast + stealth detection of bosses and some mobs that surpasses normal aggro range... Perhaps it's not worth holding on and waiting for BW to fix things.
