  1. I agree specifically on these points. I LOVE a challenge. Even if it seems impossible for while, but when it is consistently impossible, I'm not okay with that. Some of the silver mobs are consistently impossible for many. Far too many, in fact. The result will invariably be that people begin to leave. Add this imbalance to the extreme lag issues and you have a recipe for destruction.
  2. I've tried this as a shield tech then learned that it's nearly impossible solo for a tank, then tried it as a pyro. Still they all gang me. I've tried sending away Mako, running, and everything else I can think of. Nothing works. They all gang up on me. My gear is fine, in fact most of it is heirloom, the rest is covert ops gear that's been upgraded. Unless I can keep them from ganging me, I can't take the damage from all the strongs.
  3. Agreed. Just wish that the people that this was directed too would actually see it.
  4. For those reading near the end of this thread, this is what seems to be happening still. My disturbance works fine with 3/3 in telekinetic momentum and 1/1 into tremors, but telekinetic wave definitely does NOT proc a second 30% damage in any way.
  5. I had no trouble with him. I did it at level 32 and just interrupted his heals. He never got enough cast opportunities to heal more than maybe once before he was beat. Not sure how much this helps but it's what I did. Start out with the shortest cooldown interrupt then use the next lowest and use the highest cooldown interrupt/stun last. By the time you get back around to needing another the first is off cooldown usually. This might be redundant information, but if not I hope it helps. Edit: One last note is that I've done it at 32 on both the Shadow and Sage. Though the mechanics of each class are extremely different in general, the interrupt/stun method works about the same.
  6. Having read through most of the posts, and ignoring past all the useless name calling and childish idiocy, I find that there are many very decent points on both ends of the scale here. All I have to add in this case, is that it's good that the game is still so young and that they're working on addressing these issues. I hate sounding like a BioWare fan boy, but having played many MMO's in the past I'd say it's very likely, even if they don't acknowledge it immediately, that they're considering many of the things discussed herein. The point is, while the points brought up in this topic are definitely issues it's nice to know that they will probably change sooner than later. That doesn't mean in the next patch, or in a week or month. More likely, if you play the game over the next year you'll see that it's a very different and hopefully much smoother environment to your class. As far as friendlier, let's not dumb it down to the point of oblivion. That ruins games. Gunslinger is one of my favorite classes. I agree that they, being pure dps, should be a bit higher. I don't think they should be so high that they are unbalanced. I think that they should do enough dps to counter the fact that they can't heal or don't have many useful utility abilities. The argument seems to be that if they do the best DPS no one will want any other class. However, the counter argument was stated that currently they have no place now because they can't do anything else and aren't the best DPS. As far as classes are concerned, if you think about it in terms of an endurance race. You have a car that's a little slower with a larger gas tank versus a light car that's fast but little gas at all. The car with more gas knows that if he plays his cards right he's going to finish. However, the lighter car with less gas knows that he needs to be extremely fast to finish. Otherwise he runs out of gas and can't even coast into the finish line. In the end, if they're made well, both cars finish and do so at about the same time. The faster car runs out of (or is very low on) fuel and coasts to the finish. The heavier more fueled vehicle has the fuel to finish and ultimately catches the fast car. So who wins? I think this is where operator skill comes in. Knowing the track, the wind direction, and the cars themselves. If they're equal even though they are made differently they will still have an equal chance to win. If the better fueled vehicle goes just as fast as the lighter less fueled car, it's obvious that it has no chance unless the heavier machine has some kind of malfunction, either mechanical or otherwise. There's no need to throw in things like caltrops and oil slicks. The point is basic. Just enough extra dps to counter lack of hybridization. A lot of people might ask why in the world would you bring a fast car with low fuel to an endurance race. The point is that in SW: ToR, when a gunslinger goes up against a class with utility and/or hybrid abilities that's exactly what is happening. There was an argument that stated that pure classes were an idea that even Blizzard admitted was poor. I couldn't personally disagree more. I love pure classes. The only class in a game I ever enjoyed that was hybrid was a druid. If they make this game pure class lacking, then I think they'll have taken what is a large portion of the fun out of it. Sure it's hard to balance but that's the reason they get my monthly subscription fee. I'll trust that they will do the right thing until they prove otherwise.
  7. I wonder why you said, "This game is a mess, have fun nerds" and yet you are still hanging around. I'll assume it's because your subscription hasn't run out yet. The game needs tweaking as does any new game. It's a HECK of a lot better than some other popular .. over simplified mmos out there though. Get this, we still have elites and champions outside of dungeons, and there are some fights you have to "think" a little during. I don't know how many agree with you, but that's fine if they do. Leave the game for folk who like it. This is the most fun I've gotten out of an MMO since a pre-wrath nerfed WoW.

  9. I concur with the aforestated intellectual data output. As you are only level 25, you could probably mess around a bit but having the basic build as shown you can't go wrong. On a plus note, it's not expensive to relearn talents the first few times.
  10. If it wasn't copyright infringement I could get behind this. Lol. Disturbance actually looks like Air Bending as does a few other abilities. So you could rename the Tree Earth/Air bending or just Bending. Or come up with something different altogether and call it Avatarhood. Not very forcelike but .. hey Aang was cool.

  12. Here we go again. The PvP whine has begun. They'll deal out PvP cheese soon and screw up the PvE dinner all to appease the appetite of the PvPers. DON'T screw up PvE for PvP. I don't care what you do for the class in PvP. Fix it all you want, JUST don't screw up PvE! Other games have done that and the results have been less than good.

  14. I don't care if they allow for single bladed equality as long as they don't change or gimp anything else. I'm quite pleased with the Shadow as it is.
  15. You sure seem to know a lot. Would be nice if you'd actually share some of that knowledge instead of just trolling the whole time. You've shared nothing but a negative attitude so far. It's obvious that you're passionate about it, or you wouldn't spend all this time watching this post. So .. we're all listening. Share some of that useful strategy.
  16. 3 tries at lvl 32 as a full defense Jedi Guardian. Learning to interrupt the mega damage Thundering Blast especially if you managed to have affliction on you at the time was the key. Interrupting anything else while keeping an interrupt available for Thundering Blast helped big time. His Thundering Blast hit me for 5k the first two times finishing me instantly.
  17. This is how I feel. Cyclone slash is nearly useless currently. It does almost no damage which produces almost no threat and is only a frontal very limited cone. On top of all this it requires 3 focus. An ability as weak as it is should probably require one at best. The point is if you're going to make a 3 focus ability, give it some umph and make it worth using.
  18. The only real issue I have as a Knight and more specifically the guardian is the animations resetting before the ability goes off. If you spam the button it will sometimes show the character in a manner as if he's rapidly trying to reuse the ability but isn't quite finishing it. There's no damage till the ability goes off. It has to do with deflecting blows and the like. At first it wasn't such a big deal but the closer to 50 I get the worse it is. It's making fights much longer and more tedious than necessary. I'm considering hanging up my guardian till this gets fixed.. which means I'll be hanging up my favorite class. A break from MMOs is probably in order after nearly 15 years I guess.
  19. There are many very well stated points by a certain person on here. I feel that, and specifically the Jedi Guardian because that's what I play, the Jedi Knight have a very Jedi like feel to them. The way I always understood Jedi were that they used a lightsaber, and did amazing things with it augmented by other less spectacular non-saber abilities. They had a few abilities like grabbing objects from a distance, force persuade, so on, but were otherwise swordsmen. The sith on the other hand feel more like wizards. They use the sword and do it well, but they like to use a little Voodoo and flashy frightening frill. In the movies I only (I haven't seen 3) ever saw the emperor and Dooku use the force lightning ability. Dooku's force lightning was masterfully blocked by Obi-wan's amazing knowledge of the lightsaber. Everyone knows Yoda was just a force god so that doesn't even count. Later on Vader (using ToR's lovely consular's project ability) effortlessly threw many rather large cumbersome objects at Luke. Note that the objects Vader was using would have done more than stun Luke for 3 seconds had they hit head on. Well this is getting much longer than it needed to be. All in all I'm very pleased with Jedi Knights. One final note, if you chain your abilities well enough and actually look up to watch the fight it looks movie worthy. The only thing I'd really like to see on my Jedi is a purple or perhaps white lightsaber. Or maybe a chocolate and marshmallow lightsaber with some Mt Dew Fizziness bubbling from it. The darkside could use Code Red.
  20. My suggestion would be not to "EQize" the game. Don't make it so it's impossible to solo. That being said, I'm all for learning to use strategy to progress and enjoy the game. There are some fights already that really test a person. IMO, games start going downhill the second they're based on gear and not on play itself. I know it's hard to balance, but classes have abilities and cooldowns for a reason. I like making the most of them. To me, that is what is fun. Slowing down leveling isn't a big deal as long as it doesn't become a "requires a group to do anything" style game.
  21. There's a guy on youtube that goes by Roahm Mythril. He does a large serious of mega man perfect runs. It sounds exactly like him. Lol.
