  1. I've also had similar problems with other quests too (mainly on my sentinal) - usually ones where you have to defeat an NPC then talk to them - once defeated they are no longer there. From the patch notes it looks like the issue has been fixed though If anyone still gets similar issues, I found that resetting the instance usually fixed it.
  2. For the most part, the UI changes in 1.2 are great. A few suggestions from a healer perspective: 1. As a healer, the thing I most need is an easy way to see debuffs on people. Something along the lines of a separate and configurable UI frame (per player) , or to position outside the raid frames (e.g. I have my raid frames on the left in a vertical arrangement, so showing debuffs to the right of the frame would make them much easier to see). 2. An option to make my own buffs easier to see. When I play my combat medic, its difficult to see (at a glance) whether my Trauma Probe is still active amongst the numerous other buffs. Perhaps make the buffs I have placed larger and before any others. 3. Companions in raid frames. Handy for healers who use raid frames when in a party
  3. I'm glad I'm not the only person who gets the crappy shadows - I had them in beta too. I've also upgraded my graphics card to a GeForce GTX 550 Ti and it made no difference. Interestingly though, my house mate does not have this issue and he has a GTX 450. Go figure! I really hope this is something they will address. As others have pointed out, it really is porr quality for a 2012 game - that 'other MMO' has been out for 7 years and has MUCH better shadows than SWTOR.
  4. This has been debated since beta and I still do not comprehend how anyone could be against it - the arguments have no logic behind them. Many of the arguments seems to be based on the premise that those with dual spec are not as good players as those with only 1 spec or they will be less geared. These arguments also state that to play a different spec we should roll a different character. The result is pretty much the same (the player has 2 specs to choose from) but they have had to spent many days and hours to get that second spec. So how is that preferable? In fact in this scenario a lot of time has been wasted that could have spent better gearing up a single character for both specs. For anyone who thinks certain demands will be made on them with a dual spec system, the answer is simple - join a better guild. Finally, let us not forget that we can already respec out skill points. Its in the game. But lets look at this in detail. Lets say your mates need healer for a flashpoint/raid. Currently you have to spend an ever increasing amount of credits to reset your points, then spend a few minutes sorting out your skill tree, then sorting out your action bars, then changing your equipped gear. All this time your friends are waiting. OR, you hit a button and you are ready to rock. The latter sounds much better to me and I'd be happy to pay a one-off fee for the privilage. I won't lis the benefits - there are many and they have been stated many many times already. All I will say is that dual spec is a god-send for smaller guilds and I can't wait until we get it. Edit: Just saw the post above mine. Well said sir
  5. It has been rumoured that a dual/multi spec feature will be added. Please could you confirm this and give an ETA? IMO giving this flexibility to players is essential, especially for smaller guilds (it can mean the difference between running an op or cancelling it), PvPers and players who like to tank/heal groups but DPS when soloing. Note I am only referring to specs, not the ability to change AC.
  6. I think items should be mainly BoE but with a few special BoP items for ALL crafting skills. This way each skill has sellable items plus its own items usable only by the crafter (ideally a few combat related ones and a few vanity type items such as pets, vehicles etc.). What is also important is that all crafts can make BoE items that have a place at end game (e.g. entry level gear for operations). The BoP combat items should be slightly better than BoE equivalents, and for vanity items they should have unique and decent looking models/skins.
  7. Sorry, but that's a terrible idea, essentially excluding smaller guilds from the majority of raids. End game content should be available to everyone who wants to do it. Even fielding an 8 man team can be tricky for smaller guilds due to time zones, RL commitments and so on. I've no problem with larger groups getting more/better loot but being a small guild should not exclude them from content. BW would be foolish to do so - possibly losing subscriptions and also the fact that all the work they put into raids will be seen by fewer players. I think that as long as each mode offers sufficient reward vs challenge, then its a perfectly good model. However, I do agree that the harder modes need additional mechanics or something to make the encounter different.
  8. I was thinking the same thing the other night. Its especially bad considering how long the game takes to load anything.
  9. I got the gloves and boots from normal quests, but I don't recall which ones. No-one seems to know where to get the legs from. I've seen a few posts on the subject but the greaves remain a mystery! If anyone does know where to get them please share your wisdom
  10. Nice idea. Maybe something like "Master Crafter" for crafting a number of different purple/orange items that require a skill of 400. That way only the dedicated crafters would get it and thus not devalue the title.
  11. Yes that's correct, for guns the barrel mod will determine the damage and level of the item. For melee weapons its the hilt mod, and for armouring its the armouring mod.
  12. Ha ha. I knew someone would flame me for my comments. I am committed to raiding, but I'm not going to spend hours doing something I don't enjoy - after all, this is a game not a job. However, for HM and NM then yes I guess it could benefit those (not done them so can't comment). They way I look at it is that as long as the bosses go down then the gear is good enough. I know some people like to be the best and do the most dps etc., but some people put more emphasis on having fun than having the very best gear that its possible to obtain, as long as the gear is sufficient for the job (again, HM & NM might be a different kettle of fish). Indeed. You obviously missed all the other points I made, but to reiterate, people play the game for different reasons and get their enjoyment in different ways. Not everyone is into min/maxing, and you don't have to do that do enjoy raiding. I never said he did :-p the sentence began with the word "if". I only put this in because I know that some guilds make such requirements.
  13. There are lots of reasons. Some people enjoy crafting. Some people don't want to do loads of dailies to get the mods/gear thats slightly better than the crafted ones. Crafting is a big source of orange gear and other items that people want to buy. I can see how Biochem might be advantagous in PvP, but since I don't really know how much of a game changer it is. However, for PvE, if you 'need' biochem in order to do content then you are either not playing your class correctly or your healers aren't doing their job correctly - don't get me wrong, its useful but by no means mandatory. If your guild is forcing you to take biochem, my advice is join a better guild.
  14. I just had some interesting results. I am level 50 with 400 in cybertech and was REing Kinetic Power Module (cyber 340, lvl 34). I got nothing for the first 25 or so I made (I was not making or doing anything else, but I did get logged out after the first 20 or so due to inactivity), then I got the 3 blue schematics from 3 REs in a row. Like others have said, I usually get a blue after REing approx 5 greens so it was unusual for it to take this many (for this level of item). The only reason I REed 3 in a row was because I had 3 in my inventory at that time. This might just be luck at play, but thought I would share it as I was surprised to get three new schematics in a row like that.
  15. Yes, but they are a different style - not the stormtrooper-esq armour
  16. It must differ between servers because I'm selling these for 40-60k a pop and they nearly always sell.
  17. I too would like to get this set. I have the gloves and boots. No point doing the heroic unless I know I can get the head & legs to match. Edit: Actually its the Quadranium War set I have the gloves & boots for. Its a similar style though (green camo). They were quest rewards but I don't remember where from. I bought a matching chest from GTN (can't remember name) so just need some legs of a similar style.
  18. It was meant to be a difficult choice. I thought it was an excellent bit of story telling/decision making. I spent ages pondering what to do and reluctantly made the 'right' choice even though it was difficult to do. Kudos to Bioware for this one.
  19. Ah thanks, so only a week to get fully modded does indeed make crafted items pretty useless. Guess I'll stop reverse engineering my greens & blues then.
  20. I've probably made at least half a million credit crafting and I'm not even doing it full time. I've found that ship upgrades sell well on my server, with the level 50 ones going for 45-60k each, and for that reason I've not even bothered to sell mods (I just make them for myself whilst levelling). I can see the concerns at end game (I'm not quite there yet), but how many days of dailies would it take to fill all mod slots if you have 7 or 8 moddable items? As someone else pointed out, is it just a case of time vs money? The differences between crafted and comendation mods seems marginal - hardcore players might 'need' these but are they absolutely required for entry level operations and hardmode flash points?
  21. I've just been doing some augment missions (41-48) and got schematics 2 epic ship upgrades. I've not done many of these mission types before so looks like different schematics might drop from different the mission types.
  22. Ah right, still a few to get then, thanks I'll check GTN for prices of the ones I don't have now I know what to look for.
  23. One of the reasons I took slicing (alongside cybertech and underworld trading) is for the cybertech schematics. I've been maxed out on 400 for a while and run a LOT of slicing missions, and so far all I've got are the Grade 2 ship upgrades, Grade 4 Missile Magazine and two speeders. Are there any more cybertech schematics or is this it? If there are then they must be pretty rare, if not then I'll probably drop the skill in favour of scavenging. My original plan was that the money I get from slicing will pay for scavenging matts, but now the profit is significantly reduced and I don't seem to be any more schematics, it doesn't really serve any purpose for me.
  24. So is that the total you got for multiple missions then? I was wondering what the % chance of getting them is. I should start recording my own results really!
