  1. A new car, tv, or video game, etc company starts up and starts selling product. It is not compared to how those products performed 10 or 15 years ago. It is compared to how they work now. Would you buy a 19 inch B&W TV when you can have a 50+ inch flat screen?
  2. Lol... Because people don't like the idea that someone is 20% better than you just because they got lucky with the RNG system. Come on man.
  3. LOL. Approved. I know if it wasn't for my AoEs (Death Field / Chain Lightning), I doubt I would get even 1/5th the valor kills. Or, we could convert abilities such as saber throw to an AoE ranged target. But I agree on a laggy Ilum, Melee have it rougher than anyone.
  4. Agree with this - you wonder why people complain about Tracer spam in WZs? Mercs don't have a whole lot to help carry the ball.
  5. I generally ping 50 to the server, yet it seems like I play knockback roulette in every PvP game. Is he in front of me? beside me? Can I knock him off the ledge or will he just get hit knocked behind me. Really, really annoying.
  6. As I thought, just like WW - but I was unable to move and taking damage for the full 8 secs, should have screenshoted. Will next time.
  7. Is this right? Always thought it was just a mezz, apart from the fact that today I had a Sage/shadow cast it on me and 2 Shadows proceeded to whack on me for 8 seconds without it breaking.. Had this happen more than once as well...
  8. It is very likely that he purposefully avoided hitting the healer with any single target spells damage spells. That way he can keep his dps non stop. I did 350k damage in voidstar one time on my lvl 23 merc... 11 kills.
  9. I watched about an hour and a half of videos off the IGN YouTube site / channel about GW2. It has me quite excited. For those thinking they are getting rid of class roles - think again. It actually looks on the outside like UO's old system (a bit) but it is designed in such a way that every class will have a certain strength and right situation to use it in. For example - in UO at the later stages, lots of classes had heals. Chivalry character had the best self heal, bandages were uninteruptable, mages had interuptable, but slower and ranged heals (best overall for utility). Mages could heal the best in disorganized and ranged situations, bandages were the best at rezzing your teammates (fastest) and chiv, was situational. So my feeling? Every class will still do things better than other classes just depending on the situation unfold. So don't worry about every class doing 'everything' as having a variety will be the winning formula.
  10. Simple then, don't have a pure faction system. I don't see what this sick obsession by MMO companies is to have some sort of faction system. I think UO's openworld reputation system was simply amazing. You could kill anyone, at any time (outside of town), but there were consequences... 24 hours per kill, 5 kills you go red and can't do a whole ton of things... and there were a lot of red hunters. No factions, but rather guild wars. Bioware (EA) needs to think of a way to fix their 2 faction system and fast.
  11. If you time your queues with the rest of your guild (your 4 man), you may get a 5 or 6 man premade with a little luck.
  12. 1) Snipers in cover have a better knockback than sorcs, unless sorcs are specced into it. A decent operative will use the delay in the sorc's knockback to get into a position where he can't be knocked off a ledge in Huttball for example. But great job choosing the worst class in the game to make your point. 2) Sniper with a screen up is able to keep most melee away effectively and wouldn't die very easily to a non-stealth melee that can't gap close. 3) A merc and powertech will survive the situations that I described above easier than a sorc. Mercs have a superior non-specced knockback which is able to knock people off ledges/into hazards better than a sorcs. And powertechs are just pure meat.
  13. No class has less survivability when targeted than a Sorc/Sage, especially the hybrids. If a group has a smart operative / smuggler in their ranks, they can knock down the sorc and he is dead before he stands up if more than one person gets on him. 1v1 good assassins / mara will eat them alive, ops will do enough damage to make them utterly occupied or constantly on the run.
  14. It seems to be for me that since this latest patch I have been plagued by issues. One today and the other 2 yesterday. 1) Alderaan - Permadeath. The 'return to medicentre' option comes up, but you cannot click on it. As a result you character is dead, and is removed from the WZ in roughly one minute. Very annoying as we had only 15 points to go until victory. 2) Huttball - Permastun. My character was literally stunned for 2 straight minutes resulting in me not being able to do a single thing. Luckily the WZ ended with us in victory, but my resulting stun did not end until the WZ ended - I was in the our endzone, so no one tried to kill me either. 3) Huttball - again, the permadeath one with 2 minutes to go. We had victory in reach and I get booted because my character cannot rez. I even had someone try to battle rez me and while the option came up, it did not work. Absolutely game killing issues. Very frustrating when you are trying to solo for your dailies in WZs.
