  1. What's hilarious and sad is that you seem to believe this nonsense. Guardian DPS is competitive with any other melee, Sentinel's only advantage is the group buffs they bring. I've never had issues with hardmode enrages due to a lack of dps. Since you're so hard up on being a tool though let me ask you this: Do you think Sentinels and Gunslingers are the only viable DPS classes? Didn't think so, don't bring that ignorant trash here please. On topic, Focus is terrible in PvE due to both the ramp up time it has and it's burst nature.
  2. This is just silly. The second saber is just a stat stick and Vigilance attacks are designed knowing you don't have an offhand, it's not a dps loss when your abilities don't use the second saber anyways. When both classes are rolling dps the difference is largely in the the utility they offer. Guardian's have the ability to do offtankish things. Sentinels bring buffs... Bloodlust(Inspiration) by itself is a game winner as no other class can bring this, it's Sentinel's number one selling point, and it shocks me that you don't see it stacked more often. I guess without damage meters people tend to overlook things that work.
  3. I've got a lot of complaints with various aspects of the game in general, but this isn't one of them. They fixed something that wasn't working at all as intended and you got a buff out of it to boot. The other fixes are more difficult to adjust and require a more delicate approach to avoid breaking other stuff *cough* Ataru Strikes *cough*. There's absolutely nothing wrong with fixing it bit by bit as long as progress is being made on the class. There's only so much you can get done in a week, ya know? Fix the WZ bugs and I don't care if none of my specs work yet, I'd still be able to solo half the crap people claim they can't kill with a group.
  4. Not really understanding at all how this is difficult for people if they're keeping their gear up to date. Just did this last night on my 24 sentinel, ended the fight with 70% HP without needing to stim or use call on the force. Kira practically soloed him for me while I spent the entire fight on the floor or in the air. My only contributions to the fight were 1 master strike and interrupts every time I stood up. Yeah sure Kira dropped at about the same time Valis did, but if *her* dps alone is almost enough to take him down, I'm not sure how you'd lose using all of your CD's.
  5. Warzones are all about which team is more terrible. I've had too many games like that on my alts... games where 60% of my damage is slash but somehow I'm still doubling the lv +40's on damage:rolleyes:.
  6. It's all about kill speed. A poster above mentioned you're taking 60% more damage, that means you need to be killing that much faster to get similar results in your survivability. Since that's not likely you need to realize the limits on what you can kill effectively. That said, I've been rolling with Scourge for a while now and have had no problems with standard groups and stray adds. Even if he's low after a few pulls a quick 0.5 speeder summon solves all problems.
  7. I wouldn't call it viable if it was glaringly lacking, however it isn't lacking and will keep up with other classes so long as you're not failing(this tends to be most people's issue). CC isn't great, but guardians do have it, and vigilance is certainly more survivable than focus - just look at the tree, even many tanks prefer to go deep vigilance for the survivability. Focus does indeed have top notch aoe burst and is worth looking at if only for that reason.
  8. Alternatively you can use chilling force to kite him once all of your defensive CDs are down and let kira kill him for you. Don't save this strat for the last second as it does have some limited ranged attacks, but not nearly as bad as trying to tank him.
  9. Weird, 50 is when I no longer needed doc for anything. Pre - 50 I felt too dependant on him, but at 50 I can roll through 3-5 groups of strongs+standards before needing to rest. The limited downtime is easily made up since I'm killing much faster too.
  10. Wouldn't hurt if you mentioned what kind of dps spec you're using and your skill priorities, jedi knights are one of the easier classes to screw up with, and if you're doing it wrong your dps will suffer greatly. Also, don't feel too bad about tatooine, that final sand demon is a beast and unless they fixed it recently will wreck most people that come in unprepared.
  11. MS does less on average than any 2 of your other heavy hitter skills, trying to force it when you don't need to is silly. Also, what makes you say there is no rotation? It just so happens this tree can have a very smooth rotation due to it's CDs. OS - BS - Sunder - PB - Sweep - Sunder - repeat. At 12s, Sweep has a slightly longer CD and every other rotation needs a filler in it's place, you can use it to either build some extra focus, or save some focus by using master strike instead. The order doesn't even matter, the point is that all of your 9s abilities can be used exactly as they come off CD, the entire reason priority systems are used is because no solid rotation can be made... this tree doesn't have that problem though.
  12. Trust me, no one's going to Nar Shadaa to buy companion gifts. It's not as if that schematic isn't already available on the imperial side though. Granted, it's a way to get rid of it... but IMO the system should be to promote item selling, not as a last ditch way to sell things for vendor trash prices.
  13. Got any examples? I have yet to see anything that is exclusive to one faction that could be sold on the GTN. The underworld trading thing is silly indeed, I'm not sure it justifies the system but better than nothing I suppose.
  14. Was playing around with the GTN on Nar Shadaa and came to realize that all items have 2 different renders based on whether you're Imperial or Republic. I was originally thinking that since Republic Jedi gear looks so terrible I could get something from the Imperial side to remedy that... turns out that all of the interesting armor pieces I looked at on Imperial side were nothing but plain hood up jedi robes for the Republic. So what's the point of having a neutral GTN if there isn't anything you'd want to buy from the opposite faction? (Aside from transferring credits and such to alts, might as well just let us mail cross faction if that's the only reason)
  15. This part infuriates me. It's absurd that my juggernaught looks better as a Jedi than my guardian. It's as if they took out all of the hood down robes and gave them to the empire just to prove they're biased.
