  1. I thought this was only at level 10, not immediately out of the very first cutscene of the game. Player StarSwordman, character Starswordman. Playing Smuggler. He's not a subscriber, so I'm reporting this. Attempting to exit out of the "Pick Advanced Class" window does not work, alert pops up saying to pick advanced class. Unable to access any menus or do anything except to hard exit out of the game by reverting to desktop or Task Manager. Please assist!
  2. If you only get as far as the character select screen, why did you even bother logging in? You would have been better off playing another game. I can say this, because I've been in the same boat for multiple games. It's called being bored and not having a clue as to what to play, so you try starting up several games and finally settle on watching reruns of Mythbusters.
  3. Dude, if you're tired of helping others, then stop. No one is forcing you. Sure it may be a MMO, but I prefer playing solo, or with one or two of my friends when they're online. That's just me. Want to stop playing? Go ahead. No one is stopping you. But don't complain because other people don't want to help you even though you're helping others. It might suck, sure, but it's ultimately their choice to help or not. You sound like a helper. Unfortunately, not everyone is of the same mindset as you. Bottom line: Play how you want to play. Having trouble with a class quest (which as stated before, is designed to be played solo) then do something different. Don't come crying to the forums because other people are not playing the way you want them to play.
  4. Technically, that "Art Book" is a Journal. It adds more backstory and interesting details to the universe. It was also the whole reason I went for the CE. I was not quite sold on the game, so I decided to buy it only if I could find a CE to get the book, soundtrack and, not as importantly, the statue. But maybe that's just because I'm a Star Wars fanboy who has never played an MMO before and only got this one because it was Star Wars made by Bioware.
  5. Wow. Just.... wow. You, sir, are a genius.
  6. I jump in and out of character so much, I'm just better off playing solo, or with friends that joined at the same time and do the same thing. I feel it's difficult to just go full RP when all we've got is the in game chat, which is not ideal if we're fighting and our characters are trying to taunt or throw cheesy one-liners out. Also, I only realized that there are RP specific servers after I already started on a different one. And yes I know I can be on multiple servers, but RP isn't a priority for me, unfortunately. Definitely don't say no to other people playing RP, though!
  7. My first character is a smuggler healer. However, I'm running into problems in the second chapter with him not being able to deal enough damage, even with my companion's semi-help. My second character is a bounty hunter, and he's just more fun. And his companion is a pretty decent healer already so he rarely needs to worry about his health. So I play my smuggler when I want a challenge, but my bounty hunter when I want to just blow things up. My smuggler is a great healer, and has been known to not allow anyone to die in group quests, but unfortunately, I prefer playing solo, so he doesn't use his healing as much as he could. Dual-spec'ing is hard, I think. With the number of points available, you pretty much have to focus on one skill tree if you want to get the top-most skill, then spend the other 15 or so points in the first couple of rows of another tree, or spread even more thinly between the other two trees.
  8. How can you buy credits if there are no sellers?
  9. My smuggler was my first MMO character, so he's not really developed much as an actual character, but I'd say he's out for money, but will make the moral (read "light") choice even if it means he takes a cut in pay. My bounty hunter is in it for the thrill of the job. He sticks to the Bounty Hunter's Code and will not turn on an employer regardless of the monetary gain. He will turn down jobs if he doesn't like the would-be employer and looks for a bounty on their head. It works out, actually, that the bounty hunter refuses some quests. He's way overleveled and gains 5 exp usually from completing any mission...
  10. I've been noticing a lot of patches that focus on PvP balancing, like the "nerfing" of some abilities. Now, I'm not a fan of PvP, so I don't care about the PvP balancing by itself. However, these changes also effect the PvE play as well. Why not make these values separate? Balance them for PvP, but leave them unchanged for PvE. I understand that this is probably not feasible, especially on the PvP servers, but regardless, I am tired of being forced to stop playing due to servers shutting down for maintenance / patch implementation, only to find that PvP issues were dealt with, and PvE was nerfed or ignored almost completely. This may be a MMO, but seriously, PvE needs more love than it's receiving currently, IMO.
  11. What I think he's saying is that someone managed to get off the starting planet before level 10. I did not think this was possible unless all you do are class quests. My main character is a solo character. I turn down all heroic and group quests. However, I also do all the other quests, and manage to over level slightly. Judging from this, I am forced to conclude that people who are staying within the levels indicated by planet are skipping quests, either intentionally or not.
  12. Yeah, I found these Limited Edition DVDs a few years ago, and despite them being overpriced (about $30 for each movie at the time) I jumped at getting them. I have always preferred the original theatrical versions, so I couldn't pass up nabbing these instead of the box set with bonus DVD. And to be honest, I like the grain.
  13. I tend to forget that he's there. I've learned to tune him out. Mostly. It's that 5% of the time that he says the same thing 80 billion times in a row that I want to ship him off to the Yuuzhan Vong. Course, that's also true of every other NPC in the game with dialogue. Every time you pass them, they say the same thing. Over. And over. And over. I think a mute button for the droid is a good idea, even if not everyone uses it.
