  1. I usually get singled out in PVP because most of the PVPers on my server have realized by now how much Maras hurt when left unchecked... And I like to bust on healers, so even more am I a target. Scrubbles and newbies just ignore maras for the first have, then have an epiphany when I take them out 1v1 a couple times and barely drop in HP. Sure, I don't have the crazy kind of burst that Ops have, but a properly sync'd Berserk with a relic pop (or, if Frenzy is up with BT), the flow of crits and a nice Anni crit take out about 8-10k depending on gear. That's usually what gets me in trouble, but I do whatever I can to not die. Best record so far, 38-0 but I had a fresh 50 healer following me around for part of it. Annihilation for life.
  2. Interesting concept, but I'd rather not see all classes being homogenized just yet : \
  3. PVP is kind of a crapshoot. Either you get a couple heals out of nowhere that save you (along with constant DoT crits healing us) and keep you on the offensive for a couple mins at a time, or people remember how much Marauders hurt and how cool we look with 2 sabers, then decided to focus us for half a second and wipe us out. The only ways around this are hovering over Force cloak so if I dip below 50% I can poof out (if the enemies are grouped) or if that's down, pop some damage reduction and berserk for some quick healing.
  4. In my experience, Anni is tops. The ridiculous amount of damage you can do with bleeds and a good 4k Annihilate utterly destroy single targets. If you run with a group that has pretty good AOE, go Rage for the Smash crits and overall range abilities. Carnage to me plays like anni but more burst and less sustained/healing. As Annihilation I pull off ~80k healing per game through DoT crits.
  5. The primary complaint was that Concealment was capable of utterly destroying almost anyone before they could even get back up off the ground. If we popped out with whatever ability, stun upon stun upon stun await us so we'd tend to die anyway.
  6. Rage is top dog for PVP at the moment, if only for Smash autocritting upwards of 4-5k with proper cooldown use, not to mention it strikes all targets in range. Since PVP is such a fustercluck with everyone grouping up all the time, it outshines Carn/Anni with the grace of a dumptruck. The pure burst output of Rage (my fave is Force Crush > Obliterate > Force Scream > Smash > w/e else I can do with my rage) tends to just end peoples' days, so long as people continue not to take marauders seriously. I was in Civil War with 3 other maras, and the four of us just butt-stomped the enemy team wherever we went by syncing up Smash and force choke to down healers and just destroy their protectors.
  7. But after today, I'm honestly considering canceling. The ability lag in Warzones makes us virtually unplayable as targets loop back around us for just long enough not to have the ability activate, resulting in a stunlock and death. Played 8 warzones today and had the same issues across the board (not to mention horrendous queue time). So yeah. Loved this class to death, it seems. But now, I'm done, at least until the next patch, where, hopefully, shiz gets fixed.
  8. And maybe fix the horrible ability lag in Warzones.
  9. I had no issues... Started off Charge > Deadly Saber > Battering Assault > Rupture > Annihilate > into standard rotation of maintaining Annihilator and DoTs. Used Obfuscate, once it wore off popped Saber Ward and Cloak of Pain at once. I was almost dead by the second time Berserk was up, so I busted Undying Rage, Berserk, medpack. Almost dead a second time, so I cloaked. Avatar went for Quinn, I came out of cloak and went back to town from about 50% HP. Killed him no problem.
  10. Juggs =/= powertechs. Why homogenize all classes and give everyone the same stuff to work with? That's just boring. I choose a class based on how interesting the abilities are. I dig both warrior subtypes because they have fun stuff, not just AOE spam.
  11. 110% accuracy is indeed for end-game. Acc is used in PVE in general, but it doesn't matter much for soloing. 30% crit because as Anni (top PVE dps atm) we get a buttload of increased crit chance for our bleeds which make up roughly 1/3 to 2/5 of our damage output. 90% surge much for the same reason, not to mention when Bloodthirst is on CD, we pop Berserk to give our next 6 bleed ticks 100% crit chance. Bust that with a Surge trinket, and your numbers will explode the screen. Power currently takes back seat because it has the lowest scaling per point (6 power > 1 bonus damage I think). It's not useless, by any means, but it's definitely not top dog.
  12. Maras are fine, if not OP 40+. They're not faceroll easy, so people automatically assume they're broken and garbage, among other things. If a Marauder uses their tools properly, they rock face. If they don't they tend to suck and complain.
  13. I've noticed that choosing Dark Side decisions tends to get me into trouble more often than not, and light side choices tend to get me money and allies >.> Call me crazy, but if a decision seems too douchebaggish (I.E. killing someone who just helped me out when they owed me a favor) or just flat-out dishonorable, I take on some lightside flak and it almost always works out in my favor. Too bad being evil is just so fun
  14. Interesting turn of events. Apparently someone complained to BW that this thread wasn't breaking rules or something like that so it was reopened. I wasn't exactly heartbroken they decided to close it; I understand where they're coming from. Anyway, I never took part in my own discussion! I'm Kyle, Frying-pansexual on Shii-Cho (Empire). Had I not ended a relationship a couple months back, I'd have my special someone with me Aaaand I'd probably be miserable haha. Thanks everyone for checking in and being awesome!
  15. I'm set to go 3/3 DW mastery, then go for Ravage CD in Rage, Force Crit (not GREAT, but it leads up to increased Vicious Slash crits). If not that, then definitely go 2/2 Defensive forms, 2/2 Defensive Roll and 3/3 accuracy in Carnage.
  16. So I PVP every now and then on my Marauder (suicide? methinks not), and I've had a few entertaining glitches happen so far. 1: Randomly go invisible save for floating lightsabers. Not sure if it's reflected on other players' screens, but they definitely don't seem to notice me. 2: In Huttball, Force Charging through a launcher and dying mid-charge caused me to respawn exactly where I died, making for some pretty unfair comeback kills. 3: Getting force choked by someone who stood on the fire platforms and died caused me to float instead of run until I died. Wish I had video of these happening haha. Fun times.
  17. It saddens me that an innocent check-in and socializing thread turned into arguments and jackarsery. If you want to argue, go to 4chan or something.
  18. Sound off! (Also, this isn't a dating thread. That'd be a bit much ()>.> )
  19. Reading some of the posts and replies here remind me why I stopped playing 'that other game'... People can't just enjoy the game, they have to turn it into a ridiculous competition to see whose lives outside the game matter least. And don't try to tell me I'm wrong, because I used to be one of those guys. Not a good way to play.
  20. If you let your 'immersion factor' (ergo, fun) be destroyed by a couple silly names, there's something wrong. If you can't just take it with a grain of salt that his name is Darth Brojangles, there's something wrong.
  21. When it comes down to standard priorities, DoTs and rage-builders are the only things that should come before Annihilate because it just hits so dang hard, you want it used as much as possible. It should look like DS > Rup > (Ragebuilders) > Anni > Ravage > Vicious Strike With maintaining DoTs at the top of your list, so long as Annihilator doesn't fall off. That's the only real exception I can think of.
  22. I really don't see how so many people can say Marauders are turrible. I went 39-0 in huttball defending our BC last night after queuing solo. The only heals I got that weren't my own or the heal powerup were from a sorc who happened to be passing by me while I wrecked a Merc and a Shadow. Literally the only pocket healing I was given. You have to know how to play your class. Most people aren't willing to take the time to learn how to play the 'hard' class, but if you do it really pays off. EDIT: Lots of my kills come from people thinking 'oh it's just a Marauder. He won't do mu--- OMG WHERE'D MY HEALTH GO!?' So actually... Yeah, Marauders are terrible. Just ignore us in PVP :3
  23. That feel. I know it. I'm absolutely in love with Anni's bleeds, but I'm very tempted to try out Rage for a bit. I'm 41 as of today, so I know things will feel pretty drastically different (hopefully in a good way).
  24. Anni is best for PVE (not half bad in PVP, either) Rage is the shizzle dizzle fo rizzle for PVP if you play it right. Look up Klinda on youtube to see what I mean.
  25. Stupid link bugged out... Anyway, DW mastery isn't GREAT, but it's more damage as opposed to PVP-ish defenses.
