  1. A "general event" would completely serve no purpose and would likely be a fustercluck considering it's their first annual summit, meaning there is virtually no way to plan for a typical outcome. They HAD to choose a certain number or it just wouldn't be feasible for what they're trying to do.
  2. It'll come, I'm sure... don't know why they're delaying it, but it's coming.
  3. Speaking on "lore", Chiss in general - regardless of faction - is completely weird since the race wasn't even introduced to the known SW universe until the post-ROTJ era. That's something BW chose to pretty much retcon for the game. Wouldn't be surprised if they they did end up on Republic side. Based on what I read about the upcoming Legacy unlockable species, they said they'd be species you've already seen in the game - didn't specify whether that was strictly playable species or not. I personally immediately thought they were implying NPC species.
  4. We talked all about adding pazaak to the game, among many other things, in the newest episode of my new podcast, TOR de Force. Check out episode 2 "Pazaakalypse Now" at www.tordeforce.com. Nar Shaddaa (specifically Starcluster Casino) is almost guaranteed to have this in the future.
  5. I'm seriously looking to start a new TOR podcast, with some unique and interesting ideas to set it apart from others. Looking for interested people for co-hosts just as enthusiastic and driven as I am. I would prefer one of them a girl interested in providing the female perspective on different aspects of this game. This podcast would strive to provide unique organized discussion ideally among 3 people. I don't want to take away from all the current 'casts out there - would *prefer* to join up or collaborate with current ones, as I have a ton of ideas, segments and discussion topics in mind, but either way really want to get something going now that I have gotten my creative juices flowing. I have a professional background in radio and podcasting, have over a decade in audio production experience with the right equipment for the job. It's just a question of finding the right people to create/join up with. Chemistry is just as important as content. If you're interested please shoot me a message and we'll go from there..

  7. An idea that might appease everyone is if dual spec was limited to availability only when hitting level 50. For the most part if you are at end level playing endgame content, you're playing in raids where loot isn't Free For All, therefore the need rolling isn't an issue. The loot rolling is at the discretion of the raid/guild leader. I'd prefer to have dual spec available much earlier while leveling, but if they wanted to implement some kind of "Specialist" quest-line or trainable ability that activates dual spec at 50, I'd be fine with that.
  8. What's stopping people now from rolling need on stuff for their alts/companions? I understand your concern but this isn't really a valid argument. There will always be some people that roll need when they themselves can't use it.
  9. It's posts like this that make me hope Bioware actually reads some of these. Agreed 100%, dual spec needs to be an option not just for convenience but to get the most out of the hundreds of hours of gameplay you will put in on just one particular character. I'm all for keeping your AC permanent, but dual spec is just a necessity nowadays.
  10. After discussing this in-game it seems a lot of people support this idea. I think it's safe to say we interact with objects more often than our companions anyway. Especially since all they do is snub us most of the time..heh.
  11. I was thinking about how aggravating companions can be sometimes when trying to interact with doors, elevators, mailboxes etc. with accidentally clicking them, and was thinking, why not make it a setting you can turn on/off? In options, have a checkbox (off by default) where you can force a simple hotkey combination of some sort - like alt+right click or something - so your companion doesn't always get in the way of your normal right clicks. It seems to happen a lot, even when they are several spaces away from the object.
  12. The mere fact that the OP decided to make a whole thread on this just tells me that he most likely has a wide open schedule on Valentine's Day. If you were getting some on a regular basis you really wouldn't care about this crap.
  13. Bad Bioware! What were you thinking, making those stupid pesky combat animations? WE ALL JUST WANT TO SEE SCROLLING TEXT!! In fact, I don't understand why the characters' legs have to move when they run either. They should have spent more time working on making them *float*. I'm glad you cancelled the pre-order too, but I'm more glad you decided you'd stick around to let us all know on the forums. How very classy of you.
  14. I am very much for having to live with your decision when picking your AC, however I would not be opposed to Bioware implementing a 24 hour window to change it in case of accidents, misreading, etc. Apparently no matter how obvious it's stated of how clearly permanent it will be this is still gonna happen. 24 hours isn't long enough to get a true feel for a class, no, so I am not proposing this as a work-around for people who say rolled Sorcerer and were upset that they will never get to melee - what did you think a Sorcerer was gonna be? But I will defend the idea that someone could have thought they read most of the different ACs and after choosing, discovered a careless oversight about it that would've otherwise changed their mind.
  15. I staggered my game time and that seemed to help.. the first day I got in (Dec. 16th) I had stayed up the whole night before reading, watching, and listening to anything remotely TOR related to satiate my excitement for early access and was so tired I ended up playing only for an hour or 2 before going to sleep that morning. The next day I stayed up all damn night playing which really burned me out to the point that I didn't play at all yesterday (didn't want to overdo it). Now that I've been off the TOR for 24 hours I want it badly again. Spacing definitely keeps the novelty factor up. That and, it's much much funner to wait if you must to play with a friend at the same level. Jobs are overrated... Agreed that there should NOT be forced grouping at such low levels though, like heroics. Really does prevent you from progressing if you're solo.
  16. I was pretty upset about not being able to reroll your AC (even limited to just one time only at a higher level or something) until I started thinking of them as totally separate classes. There may be 4 classes to choose from initially, but there's really 8...until you view a Sith Sorcerer vs. Sith Assassin the same way as rolling a mage vs. a rogue (i.e. totally different classes altogether) you'll feel better about it. It's just the whole having to level a single class to 10 before choosing between the 2 that can make you feel impatient.
  17. Take into account The Clone Wars TV series and Obi-Wan should never have any reason to forget R2 OR C-3PO. The only way he could have forgotten them is if they were just random throw-aways. But then it wouldn't have been much of a series without our favorite droids
  18. There is an uncredited (as far as I know) electronic dance-type song playing in the cockpit during one of the scenes with a bunch of Clone Troopers. It's also played at least one more time in another episode; the song has a synth/cheesy kind of sound to it, which I felt fit perfectly in style of the music of the Max Rebo Band etc. (oddly enough this was in Harold & Kumar 2 playing in the car during a scene with Neil Patrick Harris, a big Star Wars fan...but I think it's purely coincidence) EDIT: Figured it out - it's "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash
  19. exactly. considering before it was only up to 5 days, now it is almost guaranteed.. that is freakin' rad on bioware's part.
  20. if you're mad just because you didn't get an exact ETA of when you'd get to play early, that's kind of a dumb reason to call it fail. it is currently december 15th and most (if not all) people will probably get in, and they promised early access starting on december 15th. only because of the extra 2 days they extended it to. what's fail about this??
  21. Having had to sit through countless boring marketing/sales classes, trust me - they know this. It's no secret It's just a totally legal (though maybe immoral) method to keep people's attention to one particular detail that may not exactly be true for everyone... just as bad as lawyers.
