  1. So you enjoy behaving like a douchebag in a game because you are frustrated that you live in your mom's basement/are still a virgin/get given swirlies at school? Sounds about right.
  2. And while you're at it bioware, make it so if your character dies, he/she is gone forever and you have to level up again. Your choices are supposed to matter!!!! How can I enjoy this game if people can have some flexibility with their characters without rerolling? Everyone knows the longer and grindier it is to do something you want to do in a game, the more entertaining and fun it is. In fact, make it so your character can't respec AT ALL, EVER! That way you will have to be SUPER CAREFUL when you pick your talents, and the choices will be really MEANINGFUL. That's what this game is about right? Meaningful choices? If you make a mistake, just REROLL! Flexibility and accesibility in a game is SO 1990's! Get with the times bio, people want a game where they have to do the same thing over and over and over again to play the way they want to.
  3. I think the problem with huttball (from an imperial point of view) is that it is 9 out of every 10 games (at least on my server). It's not that bad, but it gets old. On an unrelated note, queue up Republic! We promise we won't hurt you!
  4. Times change people, you don't lose all your gear when you die anymore, you don't lose XP when you die, you don't have to grind mobs to level up, and you shouldn't have to level another character just to get access to another skill tree. The MMO genre continues to evolves, and people expect entertainment from a game, not a huge time sink grinding. Just cause your granddaddy didn't have no dual spec back in the day, is not a reason why we shouldn't expect it now. The only reason not to have it in would be if BW wanted to create a time sink, which I don't think they want to do, because doing content they have already done bores the crap out of people.
  5. But sitting around fleet spamming lfg/lfm will give you so much quality time to enjoy the magnificent community that has been created by not having a lfd tool. Apparently. I think a lot of people are against this idea simply because it was used in WoW, and WoW's pug community was much like a horde of screaming monkeys flinging poo at you. The thing is, it was like that before the lfd was implemented.. Just put lfd in already
  6. I know exactly where you're coming from. I started keeping track of wins/losses a couple nights ago for all the republic vs empire battles, empire are ahead 11-2. It could be the time of day I'm playing, but the republic just seems largely composed of noobs that pick the closest enemy, and beeline for him like rambo, regardless of whether he is a tank, has heals, is kiting them etc. Objectives? Forget about it.
  7. You heard him guys. You can't just come onto a forum and state your opinion. This a place for the OP ONLY to broadcast his thoughts and feelings.
  8. Energy and Kinetic damage are both decreased the same amount by your armor. Mouse over the armor rating in your character sheet.
  9. This just doesn't make any sense. You are still going to be playing with the same number of people... dual spec isn't going to allow someone to do the job of two people. I cannot see a single coherent argument against dual speccing.
  10. Pretty sure this is a troll thread. If you think that a player with a full talent tree vs one with only a couple of points in it is a fair fight, then you are living in dreamland. More likely you are enjoying actually being able to beat people for once and don't want brackets introduced so you will be on (relatively) even footing again.
  11. Why exactly do you not want addons available? If you don't like them, don't use them.
  12. Lot of people here seem to think that damage meters take perfectly normal people and turn them into slavering, profanity screaming animals. Personally, I pugged hundreds of 5 man dungeons in WoW, and I don't think I ever saw anyone get kicked for doing low damage. Not once. Raiding is a different story. When you have to work together with 9/24 other people to achieve your goal, you need to pull your weight. Otherwise you are wasting their time, and yours. And yet still it was very rare to see someone kicked from a raid due to their dps. The fact is, d-bags are going to be d-bags, whether they have a damage meter to quote or not.
  13. ITT: lots of sorcerors that can smell the nerf bat coming. I played one during beta and it was ridiculous, just an incredible amount of utility and burst damage that requires no setup. Pop bubble, get a couple of casts off, enemy dead, sprint away. If any melee get on you, use your aoe knockback, then blow them away before they can get back into melee range. If you cant quite manage it in time, cc them, run/sprint to max range and try again. If you are saying they are balanced right now you are most likely playing one.
  14. The only arguments you hear against dps meters are long rants by people butthurt because they got kicked from a group once or twice, and nebulous claims that they 'cause elitism'. Many people seem to have decided that the dps meters were the sole cause of every doosh they wound up in a pug with in WoW. I hate to break it to you, but some people are just tossers. If you think that not having a dps meter in tor is going to prevent people acting like tossers, you are deluding yourself. A dps meter is a tool. Like most tools it can be used helpfully, or misused.
  15. I gotta agree that the bolster system is not doing it for me. At the moment it has the worst of both worlds, there is no joy or point to getting your character the best gear, when everyone has the same stats, but the battles are still grossly one sided when you have high level players with full talent trees and all their abilities, fighting low level players. Listen to your players BW and put level brackets in, and throw bolster in the bin where it belongs.
  16. Sorry, but just because you are gullible enough to pay $100 for a chunk of metal and some in game vanity items, doesn't mean you are entitled to something with actual intrinsic value. Good day.
