  1. What I imagine going through the Dev's minds right now based on their posts the past ~2 weeks, "Wait there are a ton of complaints on just about every subforum about server and ability lag to the point where the game is unplayable? These threads totaling in the 100,000's of views and have a high number of replies? How can we fix this? I know, let's put another cartel pack on sale, that will make everyone happy!"
  2. I just had a weird experience. I was queueing as a dps on a lowbie for athiss and when I got in first thing the jugg tank does is go to where the lifts are and jumps all the way to the bottom and dies. He then insults the other dps saying that "it looks like he has a (explicit) on his head," while he was dead. He continued to talk in all caps the entire fp . He was also spouting profanity the entire time. At one point he needed on a willpower earring that dropped and when I asked why he said "it was for his (explicit)." Then he posted "2CHAINZ LOLOLOL." I think the tank and the healer were friends because when I tried to initiate a vote kick he started yelling at me for starting one on him and when I whispered the other dps he said that he had voted to kick him too. He also refused to pause between groups at all often pulling 3 groups at a time. Our dps were overgeared so it didn't matter too much as we only ended up dying once. That is until we hit the palace guardians where he would continually aggro 4 at a time. We wiped twice and at that point he started blaming the dps for not killing the guardians fast enough. By this point I made up my mind to leave the group and as I was leaving I vented at him a little bit and not so nicely asked why he was talking in caps the entire time. He responded it was because he didn't have a keyboard...
  3. Eric I want to thank you and your team for putting in the time to get the servers up and I know what happened isn't your fault. At the same time however I am wondering what if anything is being done to prevent this sort of thing from happening in the future. I'm not asking for specifics, I'm just asking if some preventative measures are being taken for some piece of mind so that next time when I set aside an evening for raiding I don't have to worry about the server being brought down and this same thing from happening again. Again thanks for your hard work last night.
  4. To be honest I could care less if I had "Revan's mask" or not. I just want a freaking mask that allows me to put my hood up over it. If anyone knows one that's available for a more reasonable price let me know.
  5. If you want to compensate me for the repair bills and time lost in and out of game, heck I'll sit there and wipe with you all day long. I want fps to go smoothly not only for in game reasons but often times I have real life things to do after them. If you tell me before the fp starts that you haven't ran it, wonderful. I'll explain it and I'll be more than willing to go through a few wipes. If you don't say anything however and we wipe a few times because of blown mechanics on your part I will vote kick you. Also with the guides that you find online, many don't discuss the story at all so no need to worry about spoilers there. Also you're talking about fun learning through trial and error. What's fun to you may not be fun to me and, if you are getting kicked, the rest of the group. I'm not saying go to a site and memorize every detail of a fp before you queue for it. All I'm saying is use common sense and take your group members in consideration. Think about the collective group before yourself.
  6. I blame the tank if its their fault, the dps if its theirs, and the healer if its theirs. If you aren't following the proper mechanics for a fight relative to your role then you are to blame. If the tank is constantly losing agro or breaking cc's, I'm not going to blame the healer. My guess is if your tank is constantly getting blamed then more than likely it is because your tank is constantly doing something wrong. You don't offer any examples so this is what I will assume.
  7. I'm sorry but now you are just flat out lying. If you cancelled your subscription you wouldn't be able to post on the forums. The game has been out for over a year now and we will have had a grand total of 4 weekends with double xp leading up to the expansion. There is nothing suggesting that this will turn into anything consistent. You also state that you don't care if we post in this thread yet after the second post in this thread you asked that no one other than a dev post here. You are now coming across as hypocritical. If this is really bothering you that much that you feel the need to come to the forums and lie/demand attention from devs then maybe you should take a break from the game.

  10. This area was supposed to be small group pvp (max group size of 4), when you have one guild that has around 20 people attacking only those who aren't in their guild how is this even remotely fun or fair. Why did they put a two week time limit on this event starting out? It's pretty obvious now that they had no idea how this would turn out and this was meant to be a test which has failed horribly. If people were playing the way it was intended (killing anyone outside the group) it would be a much more even playing field but it wouldn't be easy. Forming an unofficial op group though and attacking people and killing them just because of sheer numbers is just plain stupid. I would almost go so far as to call this exploiting the game to gain an unfair advantage that was not intended. If it was intended then they would have made the rule that your group can be as large as you want as long as its all your guild. There is also the other extreme where some guilds are policing the pvp area and if anyone attacks anyone else then the entire group of people in center (around 40) will attack you and label you as kill on sight. Both sides are wrong on so many levels but this is what it has turned into based on the current quest objectives. If they really wanted chaotic ffa like this seems like it was designed to be, just dump everyone into a big bowl and put a glowing orb out there, whoever holds the orb at the end of two minutes gets the point. (I don't think this is a good idea but this would probly have better results and be easier to complete than the guild ganking crap we have now which is sad.) I will admit with the current players it is hard to make open world pvp objectives without them being taken advantage of in some way. In this games short life we have seen objective trading, kill trading, guild ganking, and people who straight up refuse to pvp and become angry when other people do in a pvp zone because they want to just do the mission. Its just depressing how they talked about "exciting changes to the pvp zone in Illum" and then we get the same crap just in a different format. If I was a developer, before I made the quest objectives and areas I would put myself in the position of the player and think "ok now if I wanted to take advantage of this system, what would I do?" I feel like these are problems that should have been easily foreseeable, especially for experienced developers.

  12. I agree with you that they should keep the pvp quests but what you are describing was basically in place in early swtor. What it lead to was kill farming, two large groups forming up taking turns killing each other for valor/easy completion of a pvp mission based on kills which would grant comms. If your rewards were put in this would return. I'm not bashing your post at all as I agree that pvp quests are better than no pvp quests and they need to be improved. I'm just saying based on the past history what you suggest would not work.
  13. I recently returned to playing this game this past month however many of my old guildies have moved on to different games. I have characters on both sides on this server, 3 50s, with my main being a marrauder. I'm looking for a relaxed and casual guild that likes to have fun doing both pve and pvp. I would also prefer it to be large enough where finding a group for daily flashpoints wouldn't be a problem. As I took a couple months off I forgot dynamics of some of the fights but I am a fast learner. I am a college student right now so naturally that must come first so often times I don't know what my schedule will be for a day until the day before or even the day of. If you think I would be a good fit for your guild please respond to this and I will check it out later. Thanks and have a good day.

I'm sorry but this thread reminds me of one of the most epic posts I've read on this forum. Quote: Originally Posted by fungihoujo Fatman server presents, real pvpers of genius. 15. I hate to say it but there are always going to be people out there that blame other people whether it's their fault or not. I'm just questioning this thread now because it's turning into two sides just saying the same stuff in different ways with no ones views changing, just insults being thrown out. As far as in game all you can do is /ignore the people that you don't enjoy playing with, friend the ones you do and try to form groups with them and let the chips fall where they may and that goes for everyone that plays this game.
  16. If this is your attitude then that's fine, it's your subscription money. That being said if the other 3 subscribers decide to vote kick you because in their mind you are wasting their time/money you don't really have any ground to stand on. I sympathized with you in your original post but after this one it makes you really come across as whining about the pugs you are grouped with. You can't complain because they didn't cater to your needs. As many people have already said in the FPS majority rules and if you get vote kicked for something like not spacebarring you will just have to try to find a group that fits your play style and not come to the forums complaining because majority of people in your group wanted to play differently. Many here are just trying to offer suggestions so you don't get vote kicked as much but it appears as that was never the purpose of your thread. The purpose of this thread seems to be to simply complain because people aren't playing the way you want them to in FPS.
  17. I would never see myself as "dark side" but if there was an issue the jedi didn't agree with I would go my own way much like revan and malak did in the mandalorian wars. I would pursue power to do what I believe is right but what I believe is right and what the jedi believe is right would be two different things so I guess at that point I would be viewed as on the "dark side."
  18. This made me laugh, sounds like everything that could happen did and I don't blame you for needing a drink. I'm not a girl but if I was I definitely wouldn't tell anyone about it in game especially a pug group, too many crazies out there. You're best off finding a guild that has some other girls in it so that the guys know how to talk to a girl without creepin on them.
  19. So i just recently resubbed and once again I am having a lot of fun playing my marrauder. I used to play a lot of pvp and I still plan to but I also want to get more into pve. Based on this I have some questions that would be great to get some answers to. 1. Pvp gearing: What should my stats look like? Should I start using pve gear once my expertise hits a certain point? Should I rip the armorings off the vindicator set for the set bonus like I was doing before? Is there any other mods/enhancements that I should plan on using to replace the default ones in the elite war hero gear? I used to run in carnage for the amazing burst and the bonus it gives to predation to help the team be mobile, is this still viable in pvp or are there better specs? 2. Pve gearing: Much of the same here, do I use the default armoring/mod/enhancement combo in my gear or do I swap in anything else? When do I switch from focusing on strength to focusing on power? Are the pvp relics BiS for pve also or should my matrix cube take one slot? What spec should I be running in?
  20. I don't think its your fault if you don't know which enemies to skip, if you lose the tank and don't know how the group skipped a particular area however it is your responsibility to ask. If the group gets offended or yells at you then they are jerks and it isn't your fault. If you try to guess your way and don't ask and pull a bunch of mobs to the group then it is your fault. Not saying you didn't ask, just saying how I would interpret these situations. The reason why they told you not to run toward them is maybe they weren't in combat so they thought if you just died they wouldn't and they would save a repair bill. I could understand this argument if this was the case. If it was the case where it was just a few mobs that you can't take on your own but the group could (2 silvers and 1-2 golds or something similar) then I believe the group should have helped you out. Accidental pulls happen, at some point or another everyone will mess up, if someone pulls an easy group I might sigh and laugh, give them a hard time about it jokingly, and then move on. As long as you didn't go out of your way to aggro them its not a big deal. As far as the convos it is what it is. Common courtesy right now is skip the convos by spacebaring since most people have seen them many times already. You can always ask if its ok if you watch the cut scenes before and if the group says its ok then you're good. Otherwise I'm sorry but its the old saying "time is money" and by watching the cutscenes you are wasting everyone elses time. At this point if you want to watch the cutscenes it is up to you to do it in story mode or look them up on youtube. If I am in a hardmode and one person is watching cutscenes I might say something like "spacebar please" or "skip the cutscenes please." If they immediately jumped to "SPACEBAR! HIT THE F****** SPACEBAR!" then they are simply jerks. When I started doing flashpoints I had never done before I would start by looking up videos and the boss mechanics online so I had a general idea. Then when I got into the flashpoint right away I would say "I've never done this one before, please give me a heads up on any tricks." I'm not trying to be rude in anyway, I'm just stating what I believe to be politeness and common courtesy in flashpoints.
  21. Alright I see what you're saying and I think that could work after the exact numbers had been figured out, unfortunately unless bioware decides they want warzones to be fair and not about giving people better gear for time spent in pvp discussing the options won't really do anything.
  22. what would have been epic is if you got a killing blow off of it too
  23. Removing or reducing the expertise won't solve the problem, it'll just make people who pve and get the black hole/campaign gear dominant in pvp. The only way I can see is to have set values for stats based on class and when you enter a warzone. These would be the stats that everyone for that class has.
  24. I did word my first post poorly and this may be a more accurate count of "true stuns." This also doesn't include roots though which as long as you stay outside of melee range is essentially the same thing as a stun to a sent/marr as they have few abilities that can hit a ranged target. When a root is on us we cannot use our leap to get close to anyone and the root has no relationship to our resolve. Most classes have a root as well, this means there could potentially be a stun/root put on a marrauder which would incapacitate them for quite a bit of time which means they would need to pop their defensive skills just to be able to survive and hit back.
  25. ill just list the imp classes since all pubs are mirrors and have similar abilities, I'm also not going to list any leaps/pulls/knockbacks/steaths/slows/roots of any kind that classes have on top of these. powertech: carbonize-instant cast, electro dart-instant cast mercenary: electro dart-instant cast, concussion missle-2 sec cast and damage ends it prematurely, operative: flash bang-instant cast and damage ends it prematurely, debilitate- instant cast, sleep dart-instant cast and damage ends it prematurely Sniper:flash bang-instant cast and damage ends it prematurely, debilitate- instant cast Marrauder:intimidating roar-instant cast and damage ends it prematurely, force choke-channeled ability Juggernaut:intimidating roar-instant cast and damage ends it prematurely, force choke-channeled ability Assassin:electrocute-instant cast, whirlwind-2 sec cast (can be specced to instant) and damage ends it prematurely, spike-instant cast and requires stealth (can be specced to not require stealth), mind trap-instant cast and damage ends it prematurely, needs to be used from stealth on a target that isn't in combat Sorcererelectrocute-instant cast, whirlwind-2 sec cast (can be specced to instant) and damage ends it prematurely If I got any of these wrong feel free to post them edited correctly. According to this I see all classes have two stuns, a few having as many as 3 or 4, majority of them being instant cast. Like I said, this also doesn't include any other leaps/pulls/knockbacks/steaths/slows/roots a class may have.
