  1. Thank you for that info. Maybe they're rolling it out in drips and drabs, to see how it goes? Or they're starting with the newer companions? I hope. There is no way they can forget Quinn, look at this thread!😁 More evidence of BW making incredibly complex, multilayered characters by accident and not knowing what to do with them. 😞
  2. Hey all! So was scrolling another site and saw something about a "date night"??? Am unsuccessful finding info. Anyone know? Any ideas of what a date night for Quinn would entail? Hope you're all well!
  3. Yes, absolutely! He was stuck, knew there was no way out. That's why he programmed the droids so weakly (ok that might be the power creep, because I do recall having some issues doing it the first time a decade ago). There was no way out, and he was so used to failure being punished lethally*. IIRC didn't Baras save his life as well as his career, since insubordination was a serious offense? If that is so, he owed a life debt to Baras, though with Quinn he places honor and duty above his own life. All the many ways Baras has him bound up in his service. As for Quinn and LS choices, he does question some, but I don't seem him as DS. He's a gray aligned character in that he's not LS with its self-sacrifice and forgiveness, but he's not DS in the cruelty and meanness. He has his code, LS/DS isn't his concern, service is. In a D&D alignment chart, he's True Lawful, with Law being his society's concept of Law. *another note on lethal punishment for failure - Quinn himself threatens Jillins with this when we first meet Quinn. That is right up there on the "jaw-dropping introductions to characters" scale. Man, I really wish we knew what Jillins screwed up to get Quinn so riled! He was in Jillins' face, ready to lose his cool, threatening to shoot the poor guy.
  4. Quinn would definitely question, until Vette does something annoying to distract and not blow your cover. Pierce might straight up ask. Then if you reply "I have a red lightsaber", he'd be quieted. Broonmark probably wouldn't notice a thing.
  5. That is a nice look on Quinn! BW won't fix any of those bugs will they? 😢 They can't even fix new bugs. We won't mention the double Quinn deco bug, they can keep that one in. ☺️
  6. I don't think any of them have, from the vanilla set. Well, if you want to count Khem, but no clue on that one really. Not 100% sure though, since I mostly play female toons, and haven't even finished KOTFE on my Knight or Agent. Something big like opening them up would have been noted in fan spaces right? Didn't someone datamine romantic dialog Quinn had with a male Warrior from back in Beta, or was that only a rumor?
  7. Here's first pic of new Warrior first meeting Quinn. Of course silly Sith hamming it up while our favorite Captain is ignoring him. Say Cheese!
  8. I want a Vorantikus for Life Day Only vorantukuses will do Don't want a blaster or rinky Huttball toy I want Savanna Vorantikus to buy and then destroy! I want a Vorantikus for Life Day Don't think Daddy Marr would mind, do you? He won't have to use A Cartel coin or two Just buy it off the GTN that's the easiest thing to do I can see me now on Patch Day morning, Creeping down the stairs Oh what joy and what dismay when I open up to play And see a Vor-an-ti-kus ev'ry day I want a Vorantikus for Life Day Only Savannah Vorantikus, thank you No Malgus saber Or Bantha poodussess I only like Vorantikususes And BioWare loves Vorantikuseses too!!! (to the tune "I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas")
  9. Do it! 😁 I think tonight after work I'll get this going. I need to recreate my favorite abomination's cosplay toon (darn this game's lack of feathered pauldrons!), and now that lightning/healing and Quinn is an option all on 1 toon?!?! 🤩
  10. Well, time to roll a new Warrior? I haven't played in so long, that maybe it's time to make a lightning-slinging healer Warrior!
  11. Holy uncalled for. Tart? Friend, that is just messed up. Way to disregard the female character's accomplishments while slurring the character that you have only a few minutes with. She was just as special and important and field capable as Pierce, and you're saying she should schtupp someone against her will just to make a man's life easier? And did you forget that big target they captured was also lost easily? The Bastion was just an ego stroke for Pierce, and had the Empire felt it really worth it, they would have done more to hold it. Quinn IS loyal to the EMPIRE, full stop. The Sith are repeatedly shown to muck up the entire Empire on whims, or because of a hurt feeling, bad hair day, or whatever excuse they give. And while field officers may be a dime a dozen, competent, intelligent, dedicated tacticians are not. Or if they are, they are airlocked by the short-sighted. Quinn has an example of that already - he got court-martialled and sidelined because of a short-sighted fool. And don't hide behind the "collection of pixels" argument when players take Quinn and his actions personally (edited for clarity). The freaking bloodlust players have held for YEARS shows that statement to be hogwash. But enough, here is some happy screenshots of Quinn. This one comes with a heartwarming story, from a past Rakghoul event. https://i.imgur.com/95nmnto.jpg
  12. I know this post is from is a few months ago, but there was also a recent thread about Quinn on SWTOR's subreddit. I sometimes think the most vocal people are the bloodthirsty ones; even if there are reasonable points made in favor of Quinn, they hardly get recognition. It might be a result of selective attention: I notice the negative ones more, since positive Quinn responses should be the default . It sort of gets discouraging. Pierce is reckless and disrespectful, and I couldn't agree more with you on what he wanted his former squadmate to do. It really was one of those moments where you think "this universe has female leadership all over the place, what the hell is he suggesting?!?!", right after wanting to shove him out an airlock for that comment. And to even suggest with my female Warrior standing right there, the absolute gall of that guy. The only saving grace for Pierce is the VA, because I got into Dragon Age and was wondering why some character sounded familiar. My next Warrior I role, for the expansion, may well
  13. Well, that explains so much. I've seen screenshots of those in-game mails, and they're downright cultish in language. That attitude, of "owning the devs" is bloody disgusting. What in the world is wrong with people who think that way? So small and insecure in life that they think of someone providing thousands of people as being their personal whipping slave? It's appalling.
  14. Sorry for sleep deprived question, but why? Why bother doing that to hide your totals? What purpose does that serve? Most guilds reward top 10 conquest earners. Why would someone purposely want to hide the amount they're doing and miss out on a few million credits, or a CM item? I agree with others, it's impossible to do 30 million conquest in a day - doing an EV farm might net you 1m per day per character, if you devote hours and a full op group to it (farming trash between 1st and 2nd boss gets about 25,000 per clear, IIRC). So 25,000 *15 minutes = 100,000 per hour per character. Amounts might be higher for other farms (DP or EC). It's not 30m per character. Again, I'm missing the why of hiding those amounts by quitting and rejoining. Also, the number 2 guild, they wouldn't happen to be the same one that sent an in-game mail telling members to report spam / squelch anyone criticizing their guild?
  15. Your guess is as good as mine. Patch seemed to download fine, and clicking "Play" closed the program. Repeatedly tried it. I did all of those recommended fixes, and nothing. I uninstalled the game and went to reinstall it. It's still installing. As soon as it said available to play, another crash to desktop (ie launcher switches to start the game, and the game closes). So am waiting until fully installed, which is taking forever since my computer is aged.
  16. You have taken a much more nuanced approach than a chunk of the players. Whenever someone responds to Quinn in the negative, it's usually "because he's a backstabber". Which is fine, that is justifiable on surface. But that's as far as it goes for thought. There is a surprising number of players who take it as Quinn betraying the player , in the bloodthirsty hatred for him. The dislike for him is visceral, and it spills out into play with others - things like people talking about doing things far more violent to him than "airlock". If you say you like Quinn, you are under bombardment from other players; about the only thing that draws similar response from other players is if you say you don't like Vette or Kira. (I tolerate Vette but can only take her in small doses, I don't like Kira, and don't see the big deal with either) Then there are the ones who call him cowardly, whiny, a rat, or use homophobic slurs. And it has been a common and tired practice of people to stop in here and thread-poop. Not to mention that they put in not just a kill option, but one of the most sadistic scenes in the game - making him beg for his life*. See how this can get tiring, and lead to "knee-jerk reactions"? One mild observation: it seems like the hatred is a very vocal minority compared to how it was. Most players seem to have a mildly favorable or ambivalent attitude, compared to how it was years ago. Nowadays, if/when you ask which companion is most hated, it's usually Skadge, Koth, then Kaliyo, followed by answers like Corso, Quinn, Jorgan, Theron (is anyone seeing a pattern here?) *watch a youtube of that scene on Iokath. Kudos to the VA for the excellent work. Watching that that made me very uncomfortable in how dehumanizing the scene was.
  17. Had no idea the Golden Fury was the GOAT. Since that seems to be all anyone asks for.
  18. Are people liars or not reading the conquest objectives? For doing ANY warzone on any character: 5k once per day per legacy For getting 8 medals in any match on any character: 2750 INFINITELY REPEATABLE Also, you get conquest for the missions for PvP - daily and weekly. EDIT: You also get the PvP reward per match - 2 Isotopes, adrenals, and a piece of gear or two. For hailing a cab: 5k once per day per legacy. For hailing another cab that day: ZERO Can it be any clearer? You get MORE conquest doing PvP than taking a taxi or selling trash.
  19. We lost each other because we don't see eye to eye on this. You have your opinion, and good on you for expressing it and defending it when you have people opposing you. You're fixated on the selling trash or giving a companion a gift. That is 5k per day per legacy. In other words, you do it once on one toon and are locked out of any further reward for 24 hours. It's the same as the Daily PvP - 5k for doing one match. HOWEVER, You're not locked out of GSF or WZ rewards if you choose to do more than 1, AND you get a reward per match. You do a WZ on this toon, you get reward; do it on an alt, get reward. It's just your chosen flavor of drudgery. And your complaint about 1 lost match being worth less than selling trash is ridiculous and flat wrong. Do most PvPers only do 1 match a day? Do they only do 1 match a day across their legacy? The reward for PvP or GSF is lower because you can do it many many times. Same for FP/Op reward, with the bonus of getting conquest points while in the FP. There is diversity that you don't see. As you said, you were basically forced into doing a little PvP, a little PvE, a little GSF, a little grinding on mobs endlessly. That is also unfair - why should someone be forced into playing things they don't excel at or enjoy, just to earn a reward? They should be rewarded for doing what they enjoy, not dragging down your PvP team because they don't have a clue about Huttball and feel uncomfortable being in that arena. It's also not fair to the PvPers to have to carry the deadweight player being forced into it and sucking so bad that the team loses. The person just selling trash or placing 5 decos may not care about anything else in the game, especially any MMO aspects. And while I may balk at such, that serves their purpose. It is a biscuit for their tastes, not mine. Those same people may balk at the person running 20-30 WZ a day. This opened up an area for people to play the way they want and still get nice things like a crate of armor, or stronghold resource decorations, or SRMs. If that's too easy, then so be it. Let people enjoy their easy instant win buttons and get on with their life. They aren't hurting you or me. I may disagree with some of it, but if it helps others who are not me, then good. Let them enjoy their game the way they like.
  20. The same guilds doing that are also the ones who have the #1 spots on lock for months at a time. This is nothing new. The only difference is small guilds now have a chance at Large yield. Will they crack top 10? No, because you can't compete against a guild with hundreds of players. Let them enjoy their high numbers, they'll get the same rewards as the rest of us.
  21. That player with 30-45 minutes has no time for a full op outside TC/Queen. It takes that long sometimes to just get a group if you're pugging. With smaller/medium guilds, even getting a guild run organized takes that long. If you're lucky, and get into a ready-made group for EV, you can clear it...barely - and that's with skipping trash and no wipes. Also, 30-45 is enough for a few Hammer Station runs, or a few warzones. Not enough to hit your conquest goal. That's the reason those other objectives are there - to help along. So for that player with less than an hour, your options before were Spammer Station, a WZ, or before the nerf KP farm to hit your conquest. Or go back to the previous Rampage objective of killing 300 mobs on a planet. Or other I-WIN brain numbing repetitive grinding. Content with other people is NOT faster for some players. And right now, players have ramped up the toxicity. You want more group content? Fix the community, and some players will go back to that. And for those who don't desire to play with others, let them get their conquest. For me personally, as someone who does quite a lot of group content and pugs a lot, I like these additions. I like seeing a new guidie, who doesn't even have a Legacy name yet, hitting conquest goals on their level 25 toon. I like seeing the level 48 hit goal on their toon because they are doing content they want, and not spamming Hammer Station. I like the small guild I'm in being halfway to goal, just by us playing normally. I like my 2 medium guilds either over goal, or coming close, because people are playing and not worrying about putting off story or alts because they have to work on conquest - and I love how the guild leader is considering moving us up to Large yield because of this change, and that we'll probably hit it too! If you've ever had to get 500,000 Conquest in 1 day (split between 2-3 guildies determined to reach the goal), you'd maybe appreciate these changes too.
  22. Except the selling trash conquest or taking a flightpath conquest objective is daily, whereas GSF and WZ are infinitely repeatable. You can spend all day spamming WZs and reach your goal faster than someone supplementing their goal by sending companion to sell trash. In the time it takes you to do 2 matches, you've already met or exceeded that one daily objective. And again, do one hour's worth of WZ, and you've likely hit your goal. And as others have said, so what if it's straightforward? I play several toons and am in 3 medium or small guilds. I don't have the desire to have to constantly run content, and get burned out making sure the guilds hit their weekly goals. If this expedites it, and if it helps lower level toons contribute meaningfully and receive rewards also, then all the better. There are issues with conquest, no doubt. But this isn't as catastrophic as you deem it.
  23. You could ask your guildies to donate money and decos. You're building a community, and having them invest in the process is one way.
  24. Welcome welcome!!! Quinn is one of the most interesting characters in the game. And psh, the haters can take a walk. They're jealous they don't have an army of fans like Quinn does.
