  1. Curious to see what people say, after playing the game and being thoroughly disappointed, I would much rather have had a KOTOR 3, I dont think SWTOR even comes close to being as good as KOTOR, but what do y'all think?
  2. Im amazed at how incredibly ignorant you are, You completely ignored half of my post and instead focus on attacking the fact that I played WoW before, but lets awnser your question, You assume that I dont like MMOs, you are wrong, and you are also wrong to Generalise the MMO genre, If anything it is people like you who are the "WoW bandwagoneers" your so used to that style of game that you assume that thats all there is for the MMO genre, so you seem to think that the fact that SWTOR is basically the same as WoW is ok? you are completely wrong This game could have been so much better, its people like you who are dragging the MMO industry backwards because you make companies think that when they make these games they have to be carbon copies of the previous ones otherwise people will not like it, they have to stick to the same rules otherwise they might make the accident of creating new barriers for the MMO genre, and of course according to you this is completely wrong. In future read my post and adress the issues in it, rather than attacking the fact that I used to play WoW, and you might have half a decent argument. If you think the purpose of an MMORPG is to be basically the same as the one before it then I truly feel sorry for you.
  3. Well first of all I had an issue with a security question I never set that prevented me from playing during my early access, I could not contact anyone because the lines were constantly full, they should have been prepared for this, second I have had an issue with my account that means instead of the digital deluxe that I have payed for I have a standard edition, After contacting bioware for about 2 weeks I gave up, I also had another issue with my account about the product code that forced me to contact someone I know at bioware to get fixed But those arnet my main gripes, although their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced for a game, my main issues are about the game itself, which I listed in the thread Thank you for being polite though, godspeed!
  4. Your right about the GW2, I think it will destroy P2P systems, why bother paying for an MMO like SWTOR or WoW per month when something like GW2 is free and will probably end up being 10x better than those games
  5. I am, Guild wars 2 looks amazing, but thats the problem I have, there shouldn't be a traditional MMO, there shouldnt be a standard base that it the same for every game, Each MMO should be something new and different and unique, not just a carbon copy of another game with new or changed elements thrown in
  6. Hey all, first of all I felt the need to write this post because I have been waiting for this game since it was announced in 2008, its hard to believe its been such a long time since I first heard the news, I was hoping for a new style of MMO that would change the genre and re kindle my hopes that the MMO can still deliver a new experience throughout, and that game developers are willing to try new things to make their MMO stand out amongst the crowd. I dont intend this to be a QQ thread or anything like that, I simply want to state why this game does not live up to my expectations and I understand that many of you will feel differently, Here are my Reasons why I am dissapointed with SWTOR. First of all lets look at the four pillars, the things that Bioware set out to revolutionise with this game in the MMO world, they are **progression, exploration, combat, and story** Lets start with progression, progression is how your character changes and develops from the moment you start to the moment you hit maximum level, Progression is all about how your character develops and how they change over time, So lets look at progression in SWTOR, There is nearly nothing new about how your character progresses in this game that has not been done before in one MMO or another, but this isnt my complaint, my complaint is that even though it has done before, it would be ok if it was improved upon, it hasnt been. Progression is bog standard MMO stuff, you get new abilities and gear as you level up, new talents ect, the only real new style of progression is your story progression, but story is another pillar entirely so its arguable if it can count or not, I do like the way your character progresses through their story but because this is shared with another pillar I dont really count it, so there is nearly nothing new here Next up is exploration, exploration is all about wanting to explore the world and getting rewards for doing so, lets have a look at why we should explore. Datacrons are scattered across the world as well as rare monsters to kill and certian objects, but apart from that there is pretty much no reason to go off the beaten path and explore, and because of this In my mind they have not innovated in exploration at all, if anything I feel put off exploring because I know my time would be better spend just questing, and while exploring I will find nothing nearly 90% of the time, and finding datacrons is as easy as typing it into google, and why would I spend hours searching when I can find what I want instantly? Combat, this is without a doubt my BIGGEST gripe about the pillars, there is absolutely nothing out of the ordinary for combat, it pretty much follows World of Warcrafts style down to the letter, and World of Warcraft does a better job of it, combat in SWTOR is clunky, many abilities have delays from you pushing the button and them firing, it doesnt feel immersive or fun after the first 100 mobs you kill, combat is rediculously tedious and has nothing new whatsoever in the foruma to make it different, Bioware failed on this pillar spectacularly. The last pillar is story, and this is the big one. Bioware games are all about story, its what this MMO was meant to innovate in, but does it? I think it does, but only to a degree, the class stories have ups and downs, the upsides are the epic moments that happen every so often that make you feel fantastic, the downside is the boring grindfest it takes to reach these moments, my other concern with story is that also it can feel extremely grindy, and more like it was convinient to do things because it was an MMO, e.g you do the same thing in chapter one on 3 seperate planets, rather than you have a proper reason to go there that is advancing your character, and grips you to the story. Swtor class stories are good, but lets face it, they are not that good. Compared to mass effect and Dragon age stories they cant even come close to comparing, but for an MMO the story is incredible, I think they could have done a better job on the stories but for an MMO they are deffinetely good, revolutionary though? Probably not, just because it has voice acting doesnt make it a good story. So thats it, to summarise the main reason I am dissapointed in SWTOR is that its too normal, and in all honesty too much like WoW, now I compare SWTOR to WoW because lets face it, most of us came here from WoW looking for something new and exciting, and I have to admit, SWTOR is 95% WoW, 5% new stuff. Bioware have played it safe and stuck to what works, which is a bad thing, this game had potential for so much more, But in the end of the day, I cannot see this MMO advancing very far or making itself a name, The STAR WARS universe does not work with a World of Warcraft style game, it feels static and like the world isnt alive. Im not even going to go into how bad the customer support or anything else is, but these are my feelings, I write these in the hope the one day MMO developers will not be afraid to try something new, to do their own thing, rather than mooch of the style of a 7 year old game that most of us came here to avoid, but I cant see it being thrown in my face again Sorry for the text wall, I will not be renewing my subscription
  7. is this the case for everyone? I only ask because on the server status it shows them all as being up?
  8. Just a quick question, does SWTOR support 7.1 surround sound? if so how do I enable it? cheers!
  9. Hey guys, I made a video called Revans song, if you are a fun of revan I would highly reccomend checking it out! Merry christmas!
  10. Does anyone know if it has been implimented yet? if so, what level you need to be to use it and how much it costs? thanks!
  11. Im playing an imperial agent, and I know that Kalyo or whatever her name is is a romanceable companion, but is there another female companion that i can romance? or is it just one of each gender?
