  1. I'm in the same boat after returning from a year away from the game. I played briefly during my last return, picked up a few levels and quit again unfortunately. This new expansion has me super hyped for the future of the game though and I felt that warranted getting back in to it. I should still have a 53 Sentinel, but I don't know the best spec anymore.
  2. Good morning! After giving FFXIV a good shot and not enjoying the end game, I've decided to sever ties from Eorzea and focus my attention on a different MMO. I played SWTOR through beta and launch with a CE purchased and registered. I sincerely enjoyed my time with SWTOR and have a Jedi Sentinel at 52 (50 up until the first expansion), and I had a good group of friends who played. The constant bugs and broken issues with the end game turned us off however. I've continued to be a subscriber through the transition to F2P and honestly I thought the game was going to go by the wayside. I believe I was thoroughly wrong though, as I've seen consistent updates for the game and two expansions now. I'm happy to see that BioWare and EA have continued to support SWTOR through the departures of BioWare leaders and the F2P transition. At this point I'm thinking about coming back full time. I played the first expansion briefly to level 52 but I was still invested in other MMO's and didn't dedicate myself fully. I'm ready to give SWTOR another chance to win me over full time. I do have a few questions though that I would appreciate any feedback on: 1) I still have a preference towards the Republic. Is there a server that skewers towards them? I don't remember what server I am on, possibly Bastion? 2) How are Jedi Sentinel's currently doing? If things aren't going well would it be worth the time to build a DPS Trooper? Have their been any hints towards possible new classes? 3) How was the last mini-expansion? Is it seeing a healthy amount of play? 4) June appears to be the month for the next major update to the game, however I see another patch with a new quest line and what looks to be new flashpoints coming soon. Any thoughts on those? Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated from the community. Thank you!
  3. Thank you very much for your reply! Watchman was the previous spec that I used so I will definately look in to combat. Is there a website that has a steady stream of updates to fill a new or returning player on the best spec, build, rotations, etc.? I'd like to get down on some research if possible. It sounds like the expansion is worth playing through and this next patch will release some flashpoints which was always a favorite part of the game for me. I'll have to do some re-exploring of my professions to see if what I have is outdated and in need of a change or if I should just expand on what I have. I know gear crafting for Jedi Sentinel's was one of my professions. Anything else I should know other than the new questions I just asked?
  4. Good evening! After taking an extended break pre-expansion, I'm thinking about jumping back in with my Jedi Sentinel. I have certainly invested in to the game, purchasing the Collector's Edition before launch, leveling up to 50, and playing through a bit of the end-game content before being discouraged by the various bugs that seem to have plagued the game. By the second or third raid (don't remember which one), I made the decision to put SWTOR on the back burner but still support it with a subscription. Since that time SWTOR has gone F2P as well as introduced the Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion. I purchased the expansion in the hopes that I would think about getting back in to the game, and I'm definately getting the itch to. Having retired at level 50 with decent gear at that time, is it too late for me to get back in and be worth anything? Is the new expansion worth it for the story? How are the last few in-game events (which I've unfortunately missed) and the ones coming up? The game certainly seems to be recieving a steadier amount of updates since the shuffling of execs and the transition to F2P. Are Jedi Sentinel's still worthy or are they currently gimped? Any recommendations on a spec for those with Sentinels? I'm sure the abilities and trees have been changed / modified since I retired. Any opinions and advice would be appreciated!
  5. Good evening! After taking a few months off and seeing the upcoming content, my interest in SWTOR has been renewed and I've decided to resub! I started out with the beta for the game and played for roughly 5-6 months with my Jedi Sentinel. With various bugs and what I felt to be a lack of direction from the handlers of the game, I decided to retire myself. However, with new people at the helm, 1.7 now out and an upcoming expansion bringing new story content to the game, I've decided to come back. I'm looking for a weekend raiding guild for either 8 or 16 man Operations, plus the usual daily activity of dailies, PvP, etc. I'm honestly open and willing to go whatever direction the guild is. My previous SWTOR raiding experience is 8 man Eternity Vault and Karagga's Palace. Unfortunately I have not attempted the last two Operations to come out. I still have the Lost Island quest that I'm trying to finish up, although sitting in the LFG tool seems to take an eternity. I live in CST so preferably something that starts anywhere from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. until whenever. Please respond on this message and I'm looking forward to be added to your team!
  6. Getting updates to the CE store is going to happen about as fast as the dance studio that was promised in WoW. In essence, it's not going to happen. Everything that you currently see on the CE store will be left as is. I wouldn't expect any additions at this point.
  7. I've got a couple thousand Cartel Coins waiting for me when I log in. I plan on buying a few upgrades to my ship as well as some emote items. I'm always in to those!
  8. Even with a subscription there are thousands of people flooding the servers to download the game and / or the patch. Please be patient.
  9. A Group Finder Tool was introduced a few months back that seemed to work quite well. I know there are some restrictions on use for F2P players, with Subs being able to use it at will. Content wise a new raid and warzone were introduced, not sure on any new flashpoints. I just resubbed yesterday after leaving at the beginning of Patch 1.3 so I've still got a lot to learn as well.
  10. Good evening, I see that SWTOR is once again generating excitement with the F2P option going live today. After moving away from the game at Patch 1.3, I've decided to resub to check out the new features, Cartel stuff, maybe even HK-51! Either way I'm interested in giving TOR another shot. I felt like this was a great game with a ton of potential left on the table. With that being said, I have a 50 Sentinel that I'm needing some build advice on. Before I left Watchmen seemed to be the preferred PvE dps spec. Is this still the same, or has Focus and Combat been buffed to compete? Any advice on the best builds or even build websites I could check out would be great. Thank you!
  11. Having missed quite a bit of time since Patch 1.3 and now resubbing in to check out the updates, is Watchmen still the preferred spec for PvE?
  12. Hello everyone, After taking a month off from the game to get some Diablo 3 time in, I've transferred my Jedi Sentinel to a new destination server and I want to get active in PvE content again. I've been playing Watchmen spec since release and went down that tree again when 1.2 hit, however over the last couple of days I feel like the dps numbers are not where they used to be. It could be the way I have talents set up in the tree, but before I went on hiatus I was hearing that Combat was putting out solid numbers. I've searched a little bit online but haven't really found a good website for top builds. Can anyone direct me somewhere that is consistently updated with the latest builds?? I feel like I can get more out of what I have equipped. Thank you!
  13. Maybe not save the entire game, but from a community standpoint I think it would do quite a bit. At least liven things up.
  14. Obviously the big topic of discussion right now is the EA Conference Call and the eye opening numbers for TOR. It's something that many of us suspected but didn't know the extent. I'm convinced that TOR can still rebound out, even with all of the negativity, and the best way to make an immediate impact is to do something that many people will see as the death wish but in this case it's really not. Server mergers must happen as soon as possible. As I type this now I'm flying to Belsavis to get my daily grind going, and I've got a whopping 4 Republic players to chat with. That's less than the 10 players on the Republic Fleet chatting about how TOR is dying. There are MANY servers like this with extremely low Republic populations and even though Empire numbers are stronger at 150 - 200 on the Empire Fleet during peak hours, I still wouldn't consider that a smashing success. I think as a community we need to get over the stigma of mergers being the end all of an MMO and look at it from a glass half full perspective. TOR desperately needs it. I know that BioWare reads the forums consistently and is surely reading the various comments on the board today. The players (including myself) are asking for help. Please help us.
  15. The title of the patch was announced today by EA, but BioWare knows more of what will specifically be in the patch. With that being said, let's hope the patch drops late this month or June. We need it!!
  16. That's standard EA model. Their bread and butter is the year over year titles that show little innovation yet deliver the bulk of their sales. In some ways Activision is the same with Call of Duty. EA has consistently shown their lack of overall support for MMO's and did take a chance with TOR. In their minds, it's not over 6 million subs so it's a big failure. With the Star Wars backing, they wanted big numbers. They didn't get it.
  17. If I had to list them in order of my personal issues, it would go as follows: 1) Server Population - Many servers in TOR are dead, in particular on the Republic side. Even as I play right now, there are only 10 Republic players on the Fleet. What am I supposed to do with that?? No one is even talking about forming a pug to try out the new flashpoint or warzone. General chat is currently filled with "our server is dead, TOR is losing subs" etc. Not a good sign. 2) Bugs Since Launch - While I'm sure some of these bugs existed during beta, it's very frusturating to see the same bugs each week on fights like Soa or trying to get to the +10 datacron on the Republic Fleet. Even running around doing daily quests, I run in to bugs. I don't think there has been one time that I have logged in for an extensive play period since launch where I haven't run in to a handful of bugs or glitches. It's annoying, frusturating, and I'm still waiting for BioWare to do something about it. 3) Heavy Empire Imbalance - Too many Empire players, not enough Republic players. Not anyone's fault really, but it still hampers the game. 1.2 hasn't really done much to help the issue as BioWare claimed it would. I could probably think of a few more, but these are the top three on my list. As far as end-game content I'm not really disappointed in the substance, but it's still lacking in many areas. Honestly I'm afraid that BioWare really didn't have a plan for the current state of the game. Many people, including myself, were in the state of mind that TOR would be blowing the doors off in overall satisfaction, subscription numbers, and future content. Instead BioWare is in a state of flux, realing from the loss in subscriptions, the apparant loss of support from EA, a frusturated player base that still remains, etc. Not a good sign.
  18. I agree with this server as well. I have the same issues and complaints with the Black Vulkars server. Republic population is basically non-existent. Even as I play now there are only 10 Republic players on the Fleet. That's seriously depressing.
  19. In a normal end game MMO setting, your either looking at a gear grind or money grind. Either way, it's a grind. I haven't seen an MMO come across with end game that breaks that tradition. That being said, it's certainly very expensive to be competitive. Speeder training + speeder + purchasing the rest of your abilities that you passed + weekly repair bills + Legacy purchases = consistently broke.
  20. I understand completely how you feel. I'm on the Black Vulkars server and we average roughly 25 Republic players on the fleet during peak hours. I'll go to Corelia to do the new dailies and see 3-4 other people. Pugs of any kind are rarely setup. Empire numbers are much stronger at 150+ during peak hours on the Fleet. Still, our server is mostly dead.
  21. SimCity a higher priority?? Casuals have unsubscribed?? EA certainly isn't feeling confident in TOR anymore, that's for sure.
