  1. I would love a game with a crafting and resource management system like SWG had. Complex and varied. 2 different crafters making the same item, would not get the same results. Even if you used the experimentation and different results of that experimenting. Your whole game could be just crafting, if that is what you wanted....or not at all if you didn't want to...but you would still rely on the crafters for your doc buffs, armour, weapons, houses, furniture. SWG was still the closest thing to a perfect MMO I've ever played.....well, until CU and NGE dumbed it down too much for the whining kids. There are those on here, who have never even played it, and still claim to hate it...but that is the "I want everything now and I should not have to put any effort in to get it" brigade of kids....likely the same ones that complain about SWTOR being too much of a grind.
  2. Glad idiots like you will not be joining me in GW2....enjoy you F2P, and then once EA has milked every penny they can from that, your P2W.
  3. I am. Subs run out tonight...good ridance. ...of course you can have my stuff
  4. Of course there was. There were 3 missions that were opened 1 at a time. The 3 and 6 month subbers time expired on the 17, which meant if they wanted to complete the whole thing, they would need to resub. Cynical, and undoubtedly vehemently denied by EA and fanboys alike, but most likely the reason. EA is all about the $$$.
  5. I meant you are the target audience. The type of player Ea want to hold onto when they go F2P. Never question anything, don't care about anything...just happy to be spoon fed crap, and willing to pay for the priviledge. If you think F2P actually means free, that just cements that you are the deluded customer EA are hoping to fleece every penny they can from.
  6. Of course it will happen. When EA finish squeezing every penny out of F2P as they can, they will start offering the best armour, weapons, buffs as a pay option. Anyone who thinks differently is deluding themselves, and likely the fanboys who will still be here in 5 days time. Next set of server merges...in 2-3 months time I reckon. All server population will take a huge hit this weekend. Again, the fanboys will try to put a positive spin on it saying all sorts, like they'll be back, or good riddance, but we'll see eh?
  7. My Assassin is also 16k+ bolstered. If you are maxed out for your level...at any level, you will bolster up to about that. That is why when you level, and you do not swap any gear, you will have less HP than before, because your gear is bolstered up one less level.
  8. Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see which game is more successful as F2P then won't we?
  9. It is not BW. They are just puppets of EA. Ea do not care about anything but $$$$. Personally, I will never buy anything with an EA badge on it again.
  10. It will be great when clueless wonders like this realise just how F2P will ruin SWTOR. This is EA...even before SWTOR was released, everyone was concerned that EA would only care about how much $$ they could rake in. Anyone who thinks F2P is not just a stepping stone to P2W, then they are even more delusional than the fanboys trying to put a positive spin on F2P. GW2 was designed as a F2P model. SWTOR was not. Personally, money is not a concern for me, I just want a decent game, that work when I want it to, and not random unscheduled mainenance to fix minor bugs at Yank-convenient times. Judging by ArenaNet's past track record, excellent reliability and customer communication can be expected. Can EA claim any of that? F2P (and subsequently P2W) is just a mechanism for EA to squeeze as much money out of the few fanboys left playing before they give up all together. Someone actually tried saying SWTOR will be supported for at least another decade. If it is still around this time next year...I'll eat my hat (but you'll have to come to GW2 to let me know because my subs (and ability to post on these forums) ends 24th Aug) There is a very good reason EA was voted absolute worst company this year and why it get scathing parodies in programs like South Park (crack baby basketball). EA take over excellent companies (BW) gut them, suck all the life and profit out of them, then throw them on the scrapheap (Westwood Studios). Good luck to the fanboys, for the few months of gameplay you have left.
  11. Whatever numbers are "declared official" you can probably half that to get a true reflection. Rushing out the report before the 6-month subers run out, so they can be included in the results. And of course every trial account will be a +1 for the numbers. EA will pad the results any way they can to make it look as good as possible. Anything more than 400-500k is a blatant lie. I'm just wondering if EA are ballsy enough to try and pull off the lie they still have over 1 mill.
  12. I will...as will 3/4 of the disgruntles player base currently getting ripped on in this game. Enjoy your next round of server merges (or more likely this time you will have to pay) and enjoy F2P by Christmas. All the fanboys are pinning their hopes on GW2 failing...at the very, very worse it will be as bad as SWTOR...which is almost impossible, and at the end of the day, GW2 has no monthly subs, so less room for players to complain if servers go down (which they do not need to for a patch or fix). Hopefully the steep purchase price will be enough to keep the fanboy kids out of GW2 and in this pile of junk.
  13. Is anyone actually dying in a never ending loop? No. If you read the patch notes, you would see there was absolutely no reason to take the servers down today. Everyone gets it that there has to be maintenance. And I really am glad all you fanboys are really happy about all this maintenance because they are fixing things. However, the second maintenance is always to fix things they have broken in the "scheduled" maintenance on Tuesdays. And for the guys that say read a book, see the family,...get a life...why aren't you doing those things instead of trolling on here? SWTOR dies on 25 Aug. Again the fanboys will put some spin on it. But between GW2 and Panda-land. SWTOR does not have a hope in hell of surviving. EA are idiots when it comes to MMOs. They have no idea how to treat their customers, even their favoured Yank ones. Zero customer support, zero communication to your PAYING customer base, complete ineptitude with programming and application of fixes, coupled with 2 major MMO releases.....SWTOR will be F2P by Christmas. ....let's see how the fanboys enjoy that.
  14. These replies are exactly why I did not want this in General Discussion.). While it might not matter to you, does not mean these points are irrelevant. They matter to me. And since I pay the same for my subs (unless you are a Yank in which case I pay more (for an inferior service as EU) my opinion and questions are just as important and relevant as anything you care about. Everytime they take the game servers down, they tell you to check the forums for details, but you cannot because they also take the forums down.
  15. I see this has been moved....how is this not a customer service issue? I fail to see why this was moved to General Discussion. I asked a question to Customer Service and was hopeful for a reply. Instead, my thread gets moved to somewhere BW hopes it will get lost in the sea of QQ threads. Guess my censorship comments were spot on. You hide from the difficult questions....I'm just surprised you did not delete the thread or lock it and point it towards another topic that has zero to do with the original question.
  16. I was wondering why you take the forums down at the same time as the game servers on maintenance day? It can only be in an attempt to censor your player base to stop them complaining about the servers being down. There have been a couple (literally a couple) of times when the forums stayed up while the servers were down…so before all the fanboi police leap on trying to defend you saying the servers are linked and so when one goes down, so does the other, this is clearly not the case. Even if it was the case, how amateurish would that be to have one server (or set of servers) controlling both? How could you even begin to think that would be a sensible idea? I know EA’s theory is to stick their fingers in their ears and go “la-la-la, I can’t hear you” when it comes to complaints, but how is a game to improve if you censor (lock or delete) threads that criticise or complain about aspects of the game? If you are going to insist on the constant censorship of your player base, can you at least stop insulting us by removing the part of the in-game server message that starts (sometimes) 15 minutes before a shutdown, informing everyone the servers are being shut down, and to check the forums for details…as this is clearly impossible when they are down as well and just adds to how amateurish you look as a company.
  17. Anyone who played a hunter in WoW, should be an expert at this. As a PT, most on my abilities are instant....I use this all the time....works great kiting a boss in Ops as well. Backpedalling is bad m'kay?
  18. That is the worst thing...it is not. Every time BW "fix" something, they break 2 other things. When was the last time we only had 1 maintenance day in a week. 2 days is becoming the norm....some recent weeks has been 3 days. I'm all for "improving game experience", and accept that (if) today's maintenance was to fix the loader, it is warranted....however, there have been rediculous unscheduled maintenance to fix such game breaking bugs such as the incorrect version number displaying (I did not even know it was displayed anywhere!) To me it just seems BW are inept at patching, most of the unscheduled maintenance days are certainly not for game breaking bug....and even then, almost 100% of unscheduled maintenance is to fix something that was broken by the last patch. Couple that with the annoying fact they take the forums down every patch as well, just to stop the QQ...and you have a game that cencors you, and just generally does a poor job. (and to the fanbois out there...there have been occasions (twice I think) where the forums have stayed up during maintenance, so do not try and make crap excuses for BW about forum and game servers being linked)
  19. I always thought it was 3:1 normal to rated (30 normal coms buys 10 rated) and 1:1 rated to normal (10 rated comms buys 10 normal)?
  20. The Taugrim guide is pretty good, and has been updated for 1.3 (removed Iron Fist spec as a viable ST PvP spec). Torhead skills calculator is borked atm, links do not display correctly...so try finding the same spec on dbhater. Pyro PT is excellent for burst dmg (it is the one everyone cries about), but regardless of what others might say it is a bit glass cannon. You will kill a lot, but also be killed just as much. You will get focussed hard in Wz....so expect to respawn a lot. If you go Pyro, get the Eliminator 4-set bonus for the railshot bonus.
  21. Funny...I would say exactly the same for Imps on Nightmate Lands. I mark up healers...and they just get ignored. I even tell them in ops chat that healers are marked and to focus them...but still they insist on trying to just pound on a DPS with a healer free casting behind him. I always thought is was Imps that were just useless, the Rebs always seem much more organised.
  22. Is there no end to these kid's "I can't be arsed to put in any effort, give me everything free" attitude? Why shouldn't people who are willing to put in more effort, get more rewards? There is nothing but your bone-idiol laziness stopping you levelling toons just to chapter 2 for the extra buffs. What next? Going to cry about augments? Because you are too lazy to level a prof to make creds to affort to put augment slots on your gear? Boohoo...why should I actually have to do something to get something...I want it free...and right now! SWTOR could be sponsored by Tomy anyway...basically a "My First MMO" with how easy it is, and you whining kids come on here and cry about having to put any effort in to achieve something? People put in a lot of effort to get the best stuff....there should be a difference between them and the lazy gits walking around in greens and blues. Stop trying to dumb this game down even more than it already is. SWTOR is likely to go Free-to-Play end of Aug anyway...then you can just buy anything you want for real money. Perhaps then you will be happy (or not because it is unfair to you that people with jobs can afford the best gear)
