I know my APM is a little low, but I'll be working on my rotation by tinkering with it a little bit and looking at other parses.

  4. Hey folks! So, I had some questions concerning to have a more "optimized" look into the Sharpshooter Gunslinger. Before the questions, I'd like to post my stats and gear which is in the spoiler. I don't really have the means to put pictures, so I will give out percentages and specifics. Keep in mind that all of my gear is all optimized mods and enhancements with my 192 rating 6pc, the exception is a single optimized 186 initiative enhancement and all of my augments are Cunning (fully augmented). With this current set of gear, I parsed a 4.2 which I realized from reading other helpful threads that this is about the norm with a full set of optimized 192 gear. Personally, I feel like I should be doing a lot more damage than just 4.2. My rotation is basically the same as the Dulfy guide and have not really changed my rotation despite having sabotage charge being taken away. So, my questions are these. 1) Should I move some alacrity into this gear? If so, which piece should I move and or replace? I have some power/alacrity enhancements on hand. 2) I've heard that you can squeak by with around 99.8% accuracy and not have too much repercussions. Should I follow this method? 3) I've seen that there are some posts to where there are diminishing returns for stacking too much Cunning. If so, what should be the more optimal # and what should I stack more of out of the stats that I displayed? 4) Reading from a post earlier, I've read that slingers can benefit from using Aim Augments. While I know Aim does benefit Trooper and Smuggler classes, should I put some Aim into my gear in terms of augments or mods in general? 5) If there is anything that should be moved or replaced in general to help with future min-maxing, please make a suggestion! 6) Finally, any extra constructive criticism in terms of gear changing or rotation suggestions is more than welcome so I can make my slinger absolutley awesome! If there are any #'s for my stats that did not get displayed that should be displayed, please let me know and I'll immediately add it.
  5. Probably a stupid question. I've been told by others that crit is much more important than power. Though, from the parses being posted, that doesn't seem to be the case. My crit is 29.99% and my multiplier is just barely above 70%. Since blade storm autocrits, should I reduce my crit severely to build power? I was building power prior to 2.0, so I should have stuck with it
  6. Dude, I'm amazed that your DPS is that high. I will definitely bring this up when I talk to him again. Is this on average how well you do? And what was your gear that you were in?
  7. My guild leader has said in the past he would only allow sentinels but I have been able to get in for DPS recently due to gear. Though, whenever we talk about doing harder operations, he references himself and a few others who are geared for it, he doesn't mention me and I have to remind him of that constantly. Prior to 2.0, I raided so much with previous guilds that I had a full DPS and tank set full augmented and min-maxed. I will check with him again if he is serious about only allowing combat sentinels as melee DPS into harder operation runs. If he intends to do that, I'll make sure I get my point across that I can do just enough damage or slightly less than combat sentinels. Then, if he doesn't agree with me or still wont acknowledge my damage, I will find another guild that will better appreciate my DPS. Though, I really hope that doesn't happen since this guild is really friendly and I like them a lot. I also noticed that during an EV HM run on the infernal council, I was able to kill my enemy first before a sage DPS that was fully augmented in purples. I'm not sure on the sentinel though since I couldn't see him. Though, the sage needs to cast smaller abilities to get procs from them. Thanks for the comments! I will definitely download MOX and test it out the next time we raid!
  8. I know that vigilance guardians and their mirror have been greatly improved skill wise, I just wish we could do even more damage like combat sentinels and mirror. I am basically fully geared in black market and mostly min-maxed. My strength is 2896 w/o a stim. Bonus damage is around 715 if I remember correctly, and all my gear is augmented with blues, currently working on purples. My hilt is all I need left to get full black market/arkanian. Now since I got the 2piece sentinel bonus to increase master strike's damage, the damage ranges from around 7.7k-8.2k. When my power relics proc, the damage skyrockets! In essence, a guardian's master strike is a lot better than a sentinel because of the defense talent and the sentinel 2piece bonus. After all this, I feel like my guild leader, who I have known for a few years prior to joining his guild, will only allow combat sentinels to be the only melee DPS. I can see why he would chose sentinels because of inspiration which is a big factor in raiding. I can understand that completely. He just doesn't see how vigilance is a good spec in general. The only reason I have been able to raid so far I believe is due to me being fully geared while others are still getting stuff. I believe I will be neglected from raiding in the future. I'm also working on a gunslinger, but playing vigilance feels rewarding. I don't see any points I can give him to allow me to keep raiding on my guardian, and I don't think the "off-off tank" point could work because there are others who don't agree with that. We also have a combat sentinel who is basically just as geared as I am, but he has about 200 less strength than me, partly because of preserverance.

  10. Hello! I have been playing as a vigilance guardian since launch and I would like to put my two cents into this! First off, this guide is great on basically everything considering vigilance guardian PvE DPS for 2.0. When I hit 55 I would consider this build for myself or others willing to try it. http://pts.swtor-spy.com/skill-tree-calculator/guardian/225/ Now onto my speculations. With the changes to both the vindicator and weapon master set bonuses, would it be wise to use a 2pc vindicator and 2pc weapon master? The 2pc vindicator reduces the min range of saber throw from 10m-0m, and the 2pc weapon master gives a +8% damage to master strike. Now, since master strike is already getting a +10% damage from master focus in the defense tree, this would improve master strike's damage greatly since there is more opportunities to use master strike because of zen strike and also, shien form already increases all melee damage by +6%. So technically, master strike already has 6% damage increase, adding in master focus and the 2pc weapon master bonus that gives it another 18% damage increase, giving it a total of a +24% damage increase, which I think is awesome! Concerning the 4pc vindicator set bonus, which provides a +8% to blade storm, blade storm is classified as a force type attack, which is not affected by shien but rather with Shii Cho. Personally, I don't think it is wise to switch DPS stances for blade storm. You lose focus which is, of course, crucial in PvE ..... These 2 points lead me to my main question, as sort of stated in my first speculation. Should I do the 2pc vindicator and weapon master to help increase my damage of master strike, which has more base and increased damage and more potential usage due to zen strike than blade storm, since blade storm in general deals less damage, than master strike? Any thoughts would be appreciated!
  11. Concerning the new ability to make the social gear compatible to any class. A while back on a Nightmare Mode Karagga's Palace run, before it was able to be on the roll, I was given the super ultra rare Karagga's Hat. My main character is a Jedi Guardian. The hat is awesome don't get me wrong ! But I can't really use it to my fullest potential since it is designated as light armor and I use heavy armor. So, my question is, will we be able to make any piece of gear useable to the class, or, is it strictly just the social gear? Thanks!
