  1. Actually I disagree. It's a credit sink, and its designed so people aren't sitting on billions of credits like that other Star Wars MMO. I know I had at least three characters with max creds in that game. A game with almost no credit sinks. It's expensive so that it hurts. Making you have to work, and choose carefully the modifications you make. Similarly to the escalating costs of respecing your character. This keeps the 99 percent of the population below 10 million credits with the majority being around a million or two. It makes you think twice about frivolous swaps, and because the credit in turn has value, people can't get away with selling something rare for 500 million credits. There was an item in that other MMO, an extremely rare drop, and I bought one for each of my characters, at several hundred million per. Quests in that game gave 10k just like they do here. However people were living on mountains of cash. I think I saw an uber rare lightsaber crystal called a Sunriders Destiny go for 800 million once. IDK, I get that the prices suck, but there is a reason...and frankly the alternative would be much harder on your check book than the current one.
  2. In order to physically put boots on the group on Quesh you must be level 33. I know this because I unlocked all of my class buffs and had to wait to get onto quesh to finish chapter 2. There is an NPC right there on the space station that gives the antidote.
  3. It's early morning and I can't sleep, so I suppose I can offer a reply. I guess I am one of those people about whom you are complaining. I tend to ignore almost everyone in the game (minus select guild mates) and although I see 90 percent of every word written in guild chat, I only reply to the stuff I feel warrants my time. I play on a PVP server which is not RP. I can offer a few reasons: 1. I am annoyed by the younger population of this game very easily. Everything from text speak, to "the sky is falling" game predictions just flip a switch in my brain to not register having read stuff like that. "I read on Reddit....derp de derp, and trolls" just get ignored so fast in my mind I really could care less what is being said. 2. Beyond the immature players, many personalities annoy me based on principle. Although I find myself currently in a guild with very elite players, just a few weeks ago I was the guild leader of a guild I ran since Launch. Some people are just so annoying with their know it all attitudes (telling me how to play my class, when they don't play it), or more recently, people who have not bothered to learn to enunciate their words. That gets under my skin so fast, and its a real shame when people who really know what they are talking about have no idea how to communicate. 3. When in vent/TS/mumble when certain people log into the voice server I immediately drop to another channel with a password on it. I try not to make a big deal of it, and I am sure people must think I have migranes 365 days a year, but I don't want to just chat about whatever comes to mind. 4. This final reason, is far more frequent in this game. But it really upsets me when people don't do the research themselves. Yes, I will answer a brief question about a class that I know, but I am not going to give a dissertation about Juggernaut, and I am certainly not going to type it out. I learned by researching, others can do the same. The single biggest way to get on my subconscious ignore list is to question what I say. I do not have time to argue with a level 17 Juggernaut about talent point selection. If you are 50, and running the same stuff that I am, and in similar high end gear, I will theory craft with you at some point, but I really cannot even begin to express how infuriating it is when people critique my spec or my gear. "OMG u waste two points in Improved Force Scream?" I assure you, I do not have the time, nor the desire, nor do I care about your spec, so why do you care about mine? People annoy me, I have never hidden this fact. It is on me to remove myself from situation that annoy me. So you will rarely find me in places like that do. I don't really talk in pug groups. I certainly don't talk in pug raids. And chatty people in a voice server just get muted. None of what I said was meant to be offense, though I am sure some will find it as such. There are just personalities in this world that I cannot stand.
  4. 1. How do you think your Juggernaut spec is perceived by other classes? Since 1.3 and the threat increase, there is more respect for the Juggernaut in the tanking role. I still have trouble with some Campaign geared DPS classes. The only Juggernauts in PVE are generally tank spec'd because the DPS spec's are not viable for the enrage timers of current Hard/Nightmare Mode content. 2. How do you perceive your own spec? I really want to DPS in this class, it seems like it "should" be really powerful. Even in the best gear, the DPS of Juggernaut is at least 20 percent below what other classes can do. I would really like to see this changed.
  5. I made almost 20 million in three days when 1.3 hit selling the Augment Slots by doing this very thing. I call it the Wal-Mart Economic Plan. Say the Augmentors were going for 150k each. I would offer 14, for 1,500,000 which significantly reduces the price per unit. Trick was, you had to buy all 14. I list individual items on the GTN to sell them quickly. It's cheaper to put the item up for the shortest auction length, so I make sure they sell by cutting the price. 20 years ago every retailer complained that Wal Mart was selling things too quickly. Why pay 20 bucks for a basketball at sports store when you can get it at wal mart for 12. Personally I don't really care if it kills the value. And I really don't care if I am taking money from someone by doing it. That's economics. I generally only 1 or 2 items on the GTN in a given category, so I rarely get burned.
  6. A typical example of the uninformed community crying over anything it can. You weren't forced to move, though you imply that you were. You also imply the queue times are exponentially greater than the 20 minutes they are. The term you are looking for is "gas-lighting." Mountains out of molehills applies too. Taking a point, adding one part fiction, two parts fantasy, and two parts paranoia leads to the state you currently think you are in. For the rest of us, the servers are alive, and the minimal server queue, is a small price to pay for the state of the game currently.
  7. A well articulated post. I am in a similar boat with my names, naming many from the world of Harry Potter. Everyone has their own reasons for their names, and I chose Potter. I ended up getting lucky, I only lost one name, the traditional spelling of Narcissa, which I worked around with an ALT 141 for the i. This actually worked out to my advantage as that one character is also the guild leader, so the funky character has cut down on my whispers by about 80 percent. The people I do want whispering me have learned how to type my name or have added me to their friends list. I got lucky though. I happened to be online when my server got the word on the transfer. We were the first server on a list of 6 being sent to one server and that destination server did not have any transfers to it at that point. When I got onto the new server, there were 51 people on fleet. Two hours later, 300, and by the end of the day 700. I just don't feel like there is any way around this system without being unfair to the community as a whole. Yes, people who did plenty of extra work to ensure they aquired their names at launch get hosed, and thats a shame. However, I feel that establishing some sort of seniority or accomplishment based system to give a priority to players is twice as unfair. It's just a real shame for people who lost their names. I do feel for you guys. Hopefully, the new state of the game will overrule your displeasure from losing your names and you will continue to play. Good Luck.
  8. See above, the bank restoration is happening at a brisk pace but I'm sure it will take eons.
  9. My guild transferred to Pot5 last Thursday. I was one of the first over, and my origin server was the first given a chance to move. The second my feet landed on Pot5 I put in a ticket. Sunday, I CSR contacted me in game. He/she gave me 600k to start a guild bank, and then unlocked all of my tabs. Just like the FAQ said they would.
  10. Ever since moving from Davik's Estate to Pot5 my guild and I are getting bugs in the guild frame window. Players are showing their name, Combat Levl 0, with no basic or advanced class. I formed the guild with 3 other friends from the origin server (as I had no guildies on) who promptly left. I added other guild mates, and although their text was correct, mine was not. I passed the lead to another, dropped guild and was reinvted back. This corrected the problem yesterday. I logged in this morning, and other guild memebers are reporting the same bug. Screen shot below. Thanks! http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/ww30/dmkorty/narbug.png
  11. Yes, they released a list at 3 CDT which concluded today.
  12. So you're asking what is the plan for people who refuse BioWare's solution to the population issue? Basically, you want to know what BioWare is going to do for the people who bucked the system and stayed? God, I hope they do NOTHING.
  13. Either way, your name is gone, the sooner you accept that you lost your name because you chose to transfer, the easier it will be for you to deal with.
  14. Use ALT Characters like : ì ô Stuff like that.
