  1. some way to improve energy shield or at least have a way to reduce the cooldown by 2 seconds for every crit we eat. (max once per 6 secs or so). Well..the Problem with having a Pistol as pure cosmetic has been mentioned. I will confess that I´ve returned from along break but I still miss the feeling of someone saying: "Oh well...we need a PT because he brings THIS cool stuff to the table. I Don´t want the instakill button but some cool utility, maybe crowd control that make a difference. Some carbonite or oil slick gimmicks would help.

  3. Hello everybody, I just resubbed to see what happened and trying out my Scoundrel but I am really confused about the specs. As I see it all the PvP utility abilities get improved in the Dirty Fighting tree. Such as cooldown reductions und the kick etc. But the whole tree is build around steady DoT damage. Having the worst survivability of all melee classes in the game I don´t see how Scoundrel can be expected to stick and tick around and play PvE boss fight in PvP. And since the DEVs gave the scrapper targerts some more "face time" with "me" by removing the KO from SF I don´t think this makes sense. I don´t want to start a nerf whine here but I would like to understand the rational behind all this. Especially the trees: Scrapper = burst, medium CC, low survivability Dirty Fighting: DoTs, medium/low CC, low survivability I´m not counting the ability to run and hide more frequently as survivability (reduced CD on DA). Maybe someone could enlighten me.
  4. The trooper is a very medicore class. I mean that in a good way. He does not have the damage spikes other classes have but on the other hand he is not as vulnerable as them either. He can lay down a solid damage carpet (especially when he´s constantly holding up his DoTs). But if you think that Troopers are overpowered try going toe to toe with a sorcerer. We are also not able to nuke down a healer, even with the improved interupt in the tactics tree. I hope they will soon myke the lockout work for the school of spells rather than only that single spell you just interupted. The main reason why people think that Troopers are overpowered or better than average is that he is rather easy to play. The mechanics are selfexplanatory and more so than with other classes.
  5. I would very much like to see some kind of permanent decay to be introduced to make crafting worthwile. At the moment it is utterly useless to do anything but Biochem. The crafting system can and should not be exactly like SWG but there are many things that can be implemented. However..it is a lot of work and not going to be an issue anytime soon.

  8. MMOs are by their very nature work in progress. If you are so delusional to believe that it is possible to deliver a MMO bug free you are free to believe that but it doesn´t make it so. Everybody is paying for a work in progress and there is no violation of the terms of the contract. Maybe there should be an idiot clause somewhere stating that complaining like a little spoiled brat might get your account suspended. But then....BW needs the money. As long they ignore the brats, that´s fine by me. In the US one can sue McCrap simply for beeing an idiot and spilling hot coffee over himself. Because naturally I had never suspected that the beverage (namely coffee wich is made with boiled water, wich is very hot water) I was about to enjoy might be very hot. If people think that microwaves should have the information printed on it not to put your children in it if they are freezing cold you should do the world a favour and put yourself in the microwave instead of turning on the heater. One downtime per week is a MUST for every MMO. During the first three months I´m ok with two downtimes per week.
  9. you would destroy your chances to make any money on it if all the reusables were tradeable. One major point of the crew skills is that the goods are consumed and raiders need to keep on buying them. And even if they could be traded it would probably require biochem to use them. I´m still hopeing for decay to be introduced to the game so all items would decay (real decay) and people need to keep buying stuff from players.
  10. And in the end they all give in and all realize what a dumb idea it was to listen to these brats cos the game is going to be ruined. Well...that´s what happened with "the other" MMO.
  11. I think the idiotic misbelief that an MMO could ever be 100% done at launch kills common sense. Or maybe the death of common sense gave birth to the misbelief, I don´t know. Bioware had to set priorities and they did well. All the quests feel great. I am having a blast leveling my second class at the moment. Where the hell do you get the nerv to say that they haven´t enough content or whatever when in fact they have 10 times the content than other MMOs had in their beginning. Each friggin class has their own epic storyline. Other MMOs have one boring reading only can do or don´t quest line. Most of the time it´s not even a line but a dot. And people who "space" through all conversations, even when they first play them do not have the right to complain about a lack of content because you and your attitude create the lack of content for you. You remove all the great things about this game and call it lackluster. This is plain rediculous. Stop grinding the game, play it. Or if you don´t know how to play anymore because "the other MMO" reeducated gamers to grinding whining zombies, just leave and don´t try to spoil what is about to become one of the greatest games of all times.
  12. leveling is way too fast. People complaining about it beeing too slow are indeed not playing the game...they are grinding it. Suggestion...go to work and grind there...a game needs to be played.
  13. I have the same problem. Can´t see any holograms anymore. Not on my ships holocom or the ones I encounter in missions. That´s the one thing that really bgs me at the moment.
  14. Just go...Don´t come here for attention....just bloody go already. I bet you are the first in line with a torch screaming bloody murder when you encounter a bug but on the other hand you complain about downtimes. You are one of the guys who tells his mechanic to change his tires and oil while you are driving your car.
  15. The kids do not know what that is but I totally like all the city planets. And I like all the other planets even Balmorra. There is a great diversity in Planets and I can´t wait for Naboo and other planets. If people don´t like the planet desogn because it interferes with their grinding to max level asap or their grinding I just say this: "tough! It´s a game stop working it and start playing it!"
  16. I like it a lot. Polishing is done. The game is in a state where I have no game breaking issues on my medicore PC. Keep up the good work BW! Already payed 4 months up front. This is neither sarcastic or cynical. I just like this damn game.
  17. Just this ^^^ This is a game not a grinding machine. The space stations add flair and if you can´t see it...your loss. Why has everything always bend to an effective grinding game. Sooner or later people will complain about loot and epics not walking directly into their inventories. If BW answeres this grinders petition then please only as optional change. Let people chose if they want to enjoy the game or run past it.
  18. when I started out with my Sentinel I wanted to throw him in a corner and be done with it. It was very difficult for me to beat same level strong mobs + 1 weak and elite mobs were a no go without all cooldowns and a decend med pack. But I stuck with it cos I was simply facinated by the dual lightsaber combat. And as I progressed and stoped caring about "how do other classes steamroll their targets" I was able to learn how the sentinel worked. I realized that I was trying to apply either WoW class thinking or Trooper (my other class I play) to the Sentinel. And naturally I hit a wall with this approach. Yes, the Sentinel has double the skills to be used in fights than a Trooper. But it´s nowhere near impossible to handle them. And I am starting to appreciate the diversity a lot now. I also think that another important factor why the Sentinel feels underpowered in general is that we get our healing companion relatively late. When I was running with my Trooper + healing companion I had no downtime whatsoever and cut through mobs without any problems. I´m not an elitist at all but my bottomline is the same: Learn to play the Sentinel like a Sentinel and do not try to apply other classes principles and playstyles to the Sentinel and complain that they don´t work. I´m nowhere close to these weird numbers people are posting here. I personally have seen only very few Sentinels going past 250k. But then I´m not too often in warzones these days. Yes you are a melee class and you cannot stand in the second row and keep dealing 75% of your max damage as my Vanguard can. And therefore you will get hammered more often. But that cannot be solved by changing the class mechanics.
  19. Have to agree. You have done a lot when you mitigate our inital timed burst: TD + Railshot. After that we are dependant on the procs in melee range 10m/4m. I usually deal 250k+ damage in WZs and I think that I´m playing my PT Pyro very good. But there have been quite some Sages/Sorcs wo were able to outheal my damage and putting some DoTs on me here and there. So I can´t heal myself and the result is obvious. Nonetheless BHs can decide to put a lot of pressure on you in melee when they decide they are going to overheat on purpose and pop vent. But that well dries out pretty quickly. I also think that people like to take the "oh shock" situations they experience against a certain class and generalize. I had a few situations were I was able to spamm railshot almost nonstop...6 in a row...4 crits. ofcourse the target is mush after that. But that is the absolut exeption. I also have situation were I think they disabled the railshot reset proc entirely....going two minutes with 2 blows but it happens. Most of the time I´m inbetween. But one thing that is most important: keep calm and study. Most people don´t.
  20. what are those two gap closers you are talking about? Everybody has grappel, that´s one. I know of Jet Charge wich is a tanking tree ability. If he has that he doesn´t deal any significant damage. The big crits come from railshots (only dangerous if improved by deep pyro) and thermal detonator (deep pyro). DoTs come from Pyrotech. It seems as if you are putting all "fearful" PT abilities in one gib pot, mix em around and assign them to all PTs. I am pretty sure that a Jet Charge Hybrid build can be outhealed by a Sage/Sorc. Deep Pyro Spec can also be dealt with be keeping a cool head. If you are in a 1vs1 situation just DoT the PT up and focus on healing yourself and keeping the shield up. If the PT does not overheat you will be most likely be able to handle it. If he goes for full burn you will have to use all your CDs wisely.
  21. I find it interresting that poeple cry for BH nerfs and not BH/Trooper nerf. And further more I find it interesting that they are not anymore specific say: Merc/PT or Vaguard/Commando. I don´t think that any of the BH or Trooper classes needs a nerf at this point. Especially Arsenal Mercs / Gunnery Trooper can be dealt with by interupting their abilities. 1. stun that every class has 2. ranged or melee interupt with 4 secs lockdown 3. knockbacks of any kind that interupt casting channeling. There are tools but people seem to be reluctant to use them. But I have to admit that I (as a Powertech) have not found a way to deal with Sorcs/Sages efficiently yet. Only thing that needs a nerf are ops/scoundrel. But hopefully they woun´t overreact on that one.
  22. The Merc doesn´t have any real hard hitters that would make him stand out. Unload only gets some decent buffs from arsenal. Pyro has a naked unload wich is rather meager. Only upside is the railshot reset. Also unload gets eaily pushed back to the point that it deal almost no damage. Same goes for power shot. It deals decent damage but again...it doesn´t stand out. The whole Pyro tree is constructed around the DoTs, Thermal Detonator and all and foremost the Railshot. And the abilities that are supposed to reset our railshot are suicide. Also Powershot itself is a joke compared to flame burst. I repeat myslef over and over again. Why do I not like power shot? (talking about untalented) a) damage is not that great, it´s purpose is to reset the railshot b) cast time that can be pushed back into oblivion c) and rediculously high heat cost 30% chance to reset on a 25 heat cast time ability is plain bollox. It´s unpractical. A sollution would be to let pyrotyech talents reduce missle blast heat generation to 16 and give it 30% chance to reset railshot. It doesn´t have as much damage as flame burst but that is very well warranted due to the fact that it is a ranged instant ability.
  23. WoW! (and I don´t mean the game) This didn´t take long until this completely rediculous conclusion is drawn. It´s not working...so it´s supposed to be that way. If that were the case the question why this specific class has such great problems in this department and why it wasn not labeled PvP cripple from the beginning. Would´ve spared many people a lot of time and grief if they had known. So if your conclusion is correct. And it is working as intended the ultimate consequence will be that there will be no Mercs around in the long run. Cos the Powertech can just DPS as well plus everythingelse the merc lacks. So if I have the choice between: a) Merc - bad PvP utility and huge lack of damage in PvP while under pressure. - great PvE DPS - great healer (if you are into that) b) Powertech - great PvP utility and loads more damage in PvP even while beeing on the move/pressure - great PvE DPS - great tank. tough choice.
  24. I might add a Pyrotech specific problem: The main mechanics regarding railshot reset: the Merc has 30% chance on power shot, the PT 30% on flame burst. Power Shot: - 1,5sec cast time - 25 heat - easy to push back Flame Burst: - instant cast - 16 heat Why do I not want to use Power Shot in PvP? 1. I have to stand still 2. It can be pushed back a lot 3. It has very high heat costs compared to only 30% reset chance
  25. Electro Dart? Both have em. Talented Rocket punch only for Arsenal and I think we are done calling arsenal a PvP spec. I´m not sure if both have concussive missile. My PT isn´t high enough. Unload snare ---> same as for talented rocket punch. If the Merc and the PT get their tricks out of their boxed...in the end the PT wins...by a mile. and once closed in...spamming flame burst will keep you snared as well...100% chance proc.
