  1. When you build and wield your first light saber as a Jedi Knight. It's been many years ago, now, but I still remember the chills.
  2. Casual founder with uninterrupted sub since 11/24/11 here. I've been ruining this game for a while.
  3. Perhaps something along the lines of Diplomat (Pub)/War Minister or Propagandist (Imp) - non-Force, medium armor, mixed melee-ranged combat using charged comms poles/electro-staves who functions primarily as a buffing specialist when in groups.
  4. This is a fun PVP tanking ability. Absolutely great for huttball. Not something you'll use in PVE.
  5. Tanks should not put out dps My tanks would be pretty boring just standing around shielding the heck out of themselves and tossing out a taunt or two. DPS is most of how you gain and keep aggro. Unless you're talking specifically about PvP, in which case the Skank Tank thing could be broken/fixed by not allowing people to queue as tanks in damage spec gear. As far as abilities go, I like the current number of abilities and variety between classes. If you don't want to use a lot of active abilities, go for sniper/gunslinger instead of mara/sent. In fact, I wouldn't mind more active or proc group buffing/support abilities on more classes. I've played WoW, and I find the 4-button rotations there are boring. My hands-down favorite class to play in any game, mechanics-wise, is the warden in LotRO. Only 3 main attacks and a proc (plus some ranged pulls), but you can build attack combos on a mix of stats depending on your role (crit, threat, and shield/heal for tanks, etc.)
  6. At this point in the game, I am able to participate in PvP and PvE groupfinder content on The Shadowlands with minimal difficulty. I own a medium-sized casual guild that's been around in different sizes and capacities since launch, and we've been slowly working on our guild stronghold and unlocking ship areas. I PUG fairly often. If my server gets forcibly merged into another at this time, destroying all of our collective guild-ship progress, I'm not going to be joining PvE or PvP queues. I'll more likely discuss a disbanding with the guild, dropping my sub, and finding something else to do. I may change my outlook on a server merge if I actually think my server needs it at some point in the future. But right now I'm against it. I'm not going to speak about other servers, because I haven't logged onto any of the others for over two years, so I'm not one to judge.
  7. They can take our (servers), but they'll never take our freedom! /bluefacepaint I'm one of many Founders still playing. My characters were originally on Shadow Hand. That server was merged into The Shadowlands, and I have been there for a few years. The first merge was no big deal. Now I have a casual medium-sized pub guild and an imp guild with several people who've been members and buddies for 2-3 years, and we've all worked hard to unlock a guild ship with limited play time, working toward floor unlocks, etc. I have an internet connection that does not allow me to participate in HM/ranked content, even on an East Coast server. If I get moved to a certain lag-heavy, bot-infested overpopulated West Coast server with no guild and no guild ship... Hello, Preferred status, if I even play at all. I love the story and many things about this game, but there are other things I can do with my free time.
  8. Can't wait to rearrange all my stored crafting mats. OCD heaven.
  9. If this hasn't been suggested already: Please add faction/event currencies and tokens (such as Gray Helix Components) to the Currency tab for easier tracking. It's a pain to go retrieve event currencies from storage just to see how much you have per event, and they collectively take up too much space to carry all the time. It would be nice to verify exactly what you have quickly and easily. Aside: thanks for adding Icetromper mounts!
  10. They should put a half-speed run buff on melee dps and reduce the range of ranged dps and dps force leaps in flashpoints. That would help a lot.
  11. I already have an unnecessary xp boost from my guild (didn't join it just for xp bonus), so I don't need double xp on top of that. I usually end up staying off of alts for double xp weekend and just sticking with 55s, which aren't affected.
  12. All I know is that the "tactical" zergfests are not particularly enjoyable to tank, especially with 1 tank and 3 dps who run thru nonstop and refuse to heal up between groups or hit the heal stations on the boss.
  13. Throwing a tantrum in /say or general over the issue isn't going to stop people from PVPing in the area, nor do you have any right to make them stop. Nor does the tantrum-thrower have any ability to make them stop, so it's just as inconsequential as people who brag about beating some other PVPer or group in general chat. Nobody really cares. Gen chat is about 98% of the time on any subject.
  14. Please convert one of the Agent/Smuggler tree options (probably Engineer?) to a true End-over-Cunning tank with pulls and mitigation and unique tanking mechanics. The items are in the game already.
  15. Tanking is my main chosen role when I group-play. I haven't queued for many ops or flashpoints, though, since the level cap was increased to 55. I take my time leveling because I enjoy questing. Grinding for gear beyond that (suiting up for SM flashpoints, initially) takes a long time because I'm not in a huge guild and have maybe 3-4 hours/day max to play and run dailies most days. The biggest reason my couple of lv 55 tanks aren't queuing is because tanks are expected to have expert knowledge of the mob and boss fights the first time and every time. This requires watching vids or reading walkthroughs and memorizing everything. This is the aspect of tanking PUGs I least enjoy, and frankly find difficult. I'd much rather learn to play the game by actually playing the game than by learning it all from Youtube. I respect that no one wants to wipe, but I can't just walk into endgame scenarios and nail every tanking/timing/puzzle/positioning mechanic the first time (and sometimes the second time!) without doing research. I had just gotten to a place where I felt confident running all of the previous high-tier fps and ops when all of the fps and ops in the groupfinder were replaced with new ones. Not ready to go through all of the trouble of pre-memorizing a whole new slew of boss fights for now, and I'm not willing to join a hardcore, regimented end-game guild with mandatory website check-ins, schedules around which you have to plan your life, etc. I tank on my schedule, not a guild's, not Bioware's or anyone else's. I bet I'm not the only one.
  16. /sign The stories are the real strength of this game, IMO, and the reason I'm still playing now.
  17. I know I liked SWTOR more as a sub-only game. Not saying that I haven't enjoyed some of the changes made since the change to F2P, but I could totally do without the Cartel Market and the nickel-and-diming approach to item access, even if that meant fewer new vanity items on a regular basis. Apparently, the majority of the MMO market does not see things that way. *shrug* The SW setting and quest-heavy theme drew me here, and I'm content for now. If I ever join another MMO, it will have at least a sub option, if not be sub-only. No interest at all in Final Fantasy, though.
  18. Until the internet is no longer anonymous The news lately would seem to indicate that the internet is, in fact, not so anonymous. BTW, you're screenname isn't fooling anyone. OT: It seems to me that bad, mean, rude, and sociopathic behavior is getting more prevalent everywhere, not just online. Just a non-scientific observation.
  19. If you like running dailies, run them. If you find personal satisfaction in chasing achievements, go for it. If not, run flashpoints, pvp, play the gtn, get datacrons, open up maps, collect cartel junk, or whatever it is you do actually enjoy doing.
  20. I like the fact that there is a non-Cartel option for unlocking Treek. Of course, the legacy requirement was no issue for me, since I've been at 50 for a while. Even if I hadn't already qualified, I would have just waited it out until I could buy Treek with in-game credits. The Cartel option is there for the impatient.
  21. Took me about 2 hours to get 20 data for the mountain tauntaun on a PvE server. Probably will be faster picking up data now that I have the nest locations memorized. It isn't my favorite quest, but I didn't mind it. No player-based interruptions (without PvP flag). I worked on Hoth achievements while waiting for the lure cd. Love the tauntaun.
