  1. As of logging on today after patch, I have cast bars that appear for a split second, then disappear. I also have abilities not showing on cooldown when they are. Every time I port in somewhere via teleport item or from speeder, I am stuck and unable to move in any direction (Though my character will Flinstone in place) until I jump. There is also extreme pop-in of player characters/NPCs with massive slowdown as they pop in. The game shows 34-57 ms latency all throughout this. I have not had this problem since I came back a month or so ago. It showed up today. Settings have not changed since flawless performance yesterday. If anyone knows a work around that doesn't involve throwing my PC in the trash (i7 10800, RTX 3060, 32 gigs RAM, 1 TB SSD), I'd be happy to try it out. Edited to add since I can't find a delete button Game "fixed" itself after I completely exited game, then turned computer off and on again. Tried and tested secret IT trick works!!!!
  2. how about double xp for all until the issue is fixed, eh?
  3. Allow people to download the launcher and then choose between streaming and a normal, functioning client. That would save some people from having to install 30 gigs worth of data (only to lose it due to a patch while data reorganizes for 13 days), thereby forcing us to download again, close launcher, then "fix" your launcher setup files. I stupidly assumed the launcher crap was corrected over the last 5 years. Silly me. BitRaider strikes again. I am sure someone in the community can create the edited text files and such that developers could then just insert into the launcher if some help was needed. A simple drop box would suffice. ST for "Use at your own risk but you get to play on starting planets while the game continues downloading for another 9 hours" and FL for "Functioning game that patches properly but you'll have to do something else for an entire day". I also suggest you sticky the fix in EVERY forum section plus put a link to the fix on the swtor homepage.
  4. I did a quest last night on my Sorcerer where I utilized rocket launchers to blast ships out of the sky. Why must I be limited to a useless lightsaber when I can use heavy weapons? I DEMAND BioWare to unlock AC restrictions on weaponry and allow my Sorc to use Commando heavy weapons IMMEDIATELY. If I don't get this now, I will post an "I quit" rant on the forums, NOT give away my stuff, and just be back in three months hoping nobody remembers who I am. So THERE!!!!
  5. I thought they were pretty stupid, until I noticed how many fricking free Cartel Coins I got due to already unlocked achievements. I think I got almost 800 CCs just by alting around to my various characters after this silly patch/xpac business began.
  6. Make characters with only gathering skills Sell mats Have a few hundred thousand credits by level 20 with a decent time farming instead of leveling OR have around a million credits at 30 if you play your cards right.
  7. It's an easy way to score free loot, get help (before they hear ya over Vent), have stuff bought for you, etc.. People can try and break gamer stereotypes but, c'mon... the sheer amount of basement dwelling trolls in MMOs is staggering and they can all be taken advantage of with ease.
  8. You people are so wrong. World of Boredcraft was the first MMO ever created. In fact, Blizzard created the Ford Model-T as well as the sledge-o-matic.
  9. Wait until Belsavis Dailies and use her exclusively for those. You'll get OODLES of affection out of her as long as you make the correct choices. Other than that, don't waste the metric crap ton of gifts it takes to max her out.
  10. Melee DPS: Ashara Ranged DPS: Vette Melee Tank: Lord Scourge Ranged Tank: Blizz Healer: Mako
  11. Hate: Patches that are 90+% Cartel junk and 10% or less actual content/fixes. Want: Shared, maximum 6 tab, Legacy Vault that can be used freely amongst a player's legacy... and that includes automatic resource pulling for crafting!!!!
  12. SoE games are the only MMOs I have played that allowed outright class changing. SWG pre-CU you could just rebuild skill boxes through easy, afk grinding. NGE you could pay credits and just change your class so you could FotM in PvP, since that's all the game offered for the first few years of that build. EQII allowed a "faction" change so you could play your mirror class that could be different enough as to be considered an entire different animal. Since this game fits into the "World of Boredcraft" style of MMOs, it would be as if you changed from a Warrior to a Paladin, so you could be FotM off and on for the last few years in PvE AND PvP. If they allow AC changes, it will be through the Cartel Market to soak up a lot more money when they could actually be working on something worthwhile.... not that much content is being added beyond Cartel Market swag :S
  13. This is a new and exciting thread. People have yet to suggest an insertion of SWG into TOR. I am glad to see someone is using some forethought and will be spear-heading the discussion to end all discussions by wanting to change an optional rail shooter into an optional space simulator. It makes more sense to ramble on aimlessly through space, following a constantly changing way point until you stumble upon your objective than it does to actually start your mission at your objective, blow stuff up, then leave. SWG is dead. It was dead in Alpha and was in Beta stage for the first six years of it's life. It had a declining player base BEFORE CU/NGE and anyone who misses it that much can play The Sims for all their decorating needs.
  14. The least they could do is paint your house, wash your car, mow your grass, or do your homework for you. I mean, I've been in since launch and I think I should at LEAST get a title... something along the lines of, "King of Australia". I like the sound of that. With all the hours I have spent playing this game from my mother's basement, filling my face full of hot pockets, mt dew, and funyums, you'd think EA/BW could give me SOMETHING to show how special I am that I started playing a video game before other people. The nerve of this company not handing out things to make me feel special. I should sue!!!
  15. I'd trade it all for companion weapons behaving Companions having matching armor again The ability to inspect others without seeing my nameplate and armor would be handy, too. Companions jumping off ledges while I wait for an elevator would be keen.
  16. EA executives need X-mas, too. Bonuses don't come cheap, ya know!
  17. The Life Day crap is for all the people who want holiday garbage. Congratulations. The minority who care about walking carpets and their version of "Away in a Manger" can have the items. The rest of us don't have to be plagued by entire planets decked out or wookiees all over the place wanting us to bless their babies. Either buy the 39.99 allotment of Cartel Coins of the Star Wars Holiday Special in a bargain bin for .99. You can enjoy Life Day in one of those two ways. "AHMAHGERD!!!! DEY AR TAKIN DA LIFE DAY OUT OURV CHRI'MAS!!!!!!"
  18. Adding a "Last Logged In" on the Guild social UI would be kind of handy for cleaning up rosters. Just stick in another column and show how many hours/days/months it has been since a player has logged in. That, or give guild leaders and option to Auto Clean. They could set how long (30,60,90+ days) until someone is just booted out.
  19. Addons are a cheap way for developers to get features into a game that should have been included in the game's development. Also, you start with the addons (and, to a somewhat lesser extent, macros), you force developers to balance content based on the information addons can glean from the game's coding. They either help further trivialize content OR make content necessitate the use of addons, which many do not wish to use. Instead of designing encounters with cast, visual, verbal, or broadcasted cues, the encounters now demand an addon. Instead of an intuitive way to change the UI, players must now have an addon. Instead of actually learning a rotation, players get it displayed and just have to follow directions. Seriously? I thought gamers moved beyond the need to have their hands held. The content in SWTOR is, for the most part, trivial enough. Why make it even easier by having one button healing, mouse over actions, boss encounters where the game does all but move your character for you? DPS parses are already in game. If you're Operation group is stuck, you can see who isn't cutting the mustard. The only thing missing would be a threat meter that is found in a lot of MMOs I have played... though most were vague at best. ...... and you know when you pull threat when you get hit.
  20. Necro.. and a bad one at that. Somebody played way too many SoE games. This combines SWG and EQII at it's worst. At least EQII took longer than a few hours to change faction. The faction balancing issues would be horrendous, not to mention the sheer COST of this. It would be cheaper for them to insert branching story lines for 50+ class content dependent on DS/LS, then grant a title and some spiffy moddable armor that was "unique" to the title type. Also, 1 million credits is something any level 50 can make in less than a week. The unguilded restriction is asinine as well... MMO!!!
  21. A proliferation of addons cause developers to balance content around the use of addons. Just to take World of Boredcraft as an example: Deadly Boss Mods (To tell you when something is about to happen, who has what debuff, what you have to do, etc) Heal Bot (Used to dictate who needs healing/cleansing and to make it a single button/mouse over mouth breather concept to heal). Omen (Shows who is generating how much threat on which target. I believe most MMOs that use a Trinity should have this feature built in) . Recount (DPS meter to show how much damage/heals per second individuals generate. Very useful to determine who you should kick out of your group/guild and also to help performance during progression runs to better focus target dropping). Bartender (Customize your UI... SWTOR actually has this in spades now) There was also a popular one for changing around your Raid UI (which SWTOR does a decent job of doing now). Forgot what it was called. My favorite was EpicMusicPlayer. In game UI to control the music on your computer. Regardless, except for UI enhancements and a threat meter (which really isn't needed with current content), I don't see a reason for any addons in SWTOR. Most abilities by mobs are sufficiently telegraphed in game either through cast, warning, or sound cues. Addons, at least the types available in WoW, would force developers to make even more difficult content balanced around addons and those who would not wish to use them are considered "handicapped"... even if they have already beaten the content and actually proven themselves more "skilled". In combat macro use for abilities were useful in WoW in so far as that players could chain abilities to cheat GCDs while oversimplifying ability rotations to the point that EVERY class became LOLEZmode... until they stopped the mass ability chaining... years after release :S. While they can't do much to stop massive mapping and third party macro use via an expensive gaming keyboard/mouse combo, the introduction of in game macros to make the game even easier/less tedious is the last thing developers need at this point.
  22. It would also be helpful if spam reporting auto ignored the spammer.

  24. On Jedi Covenant, the only "begging" I have seen is from returning players, and they have been very polite about it and have even admitted their impatience with questing and the like. They want to buy something that may have not been available when they previously played (like some Cartel items) or have even said they were just lazy atm. I gave one 150k credits. 3 days later she sent me 300k credits in the mail with a note of thanks. In the year I have played, and the (not ashamed to admit) more than 90 hours played since f2p has launched (I can play at work), I have yet to encounter anywhere NEAR as many "beggars" as what existed in WoW, EQII, and pre-CU SWG. As far as my personal observation goes, the only thing f2p has increased are the amount of questions about game play in general chat.... ESPECIALLY on Dromund Kaas and Coruscant.
