  1. old issue, and they are still sweeping it under the rug more stellar examples of "working as intended" and "customer service"
  2. nope. this conceptual DvL token would just add +8 immediately usable character slots. eg: existing characters/character slots + token = x/x 36/40 + token = 36/48 100/100 + token = 100/108 136/100 + token = 136/144 Restriction: One time use per account/server combination (so you could use 1 token on each server if that was your desire) Point being that any such event or system that requires you to delete characters to participate (esp with a game that is this far along and has been merged so many times) just to satisfy some arbitrary 5 year old number that no longer has any current relevant value, and runs contrary to the spirit of the event, would just be poor planning and management. note: The fact that they still have not properly accounted for all paid server character slots unlocks post merge(s) is just plain laziness on their parts. OK, and? Try quoting the whole line so it keeps its context, namely "make Pioneer's unlockable in collections". I know how it was released, I was there. I used to still have the t-shirt for it too, but the ewoks cut it up to make covid masks. I also know that the change to give it an actual armoring was long requested and much loved once it happened. So, again, making this set be in collections so I could pull out say 5 more, tweak them to my desired insert /amp levels, we'd be as comparable to where were used to be at with minimal fuss. It would also remove any reason to contact CS when you loose a piece - just grab another copy from collections and be on your merry.
  3. Player TLDR: if you do not like the idea of a DvL revival - ok, your opinion. You don't have to participate in it either. Dev TLDR: Don't frell it up like you did the last one Though, tbph, I'm not holding my breath for another DvL, let alone any accommodations for... well, anything.
  4. Even for those nowhere near the 100 character server limit, asking people to spend money to get CC's to get 8 more server character slots, in this economy, that would just be rude. Step one would be to have a special DvL 8-pack of server character slots that was limited to one per account, same cost (600 CC's) as the normal one, and had the ability to add the slots in addition to whatever the excess that account may already be in for active characters on that server.
  5. to avoid the same SNAFUBAR they created last time, this is exactly what they would have to do.
  6. There is indeed a lot about discord to not be liking, even before you get to its security issues. Fake messages on Discord are not new, and still very easy to do example: BioChris on Theory Crafting Discord - real vs edited As for Devs on Discord: So long as they stay random PrivateCitizen#9999, ok, fine. But any /all "official" identification /recognition on privately controlled server(s) should be a no-go unless it is some sort of public event, period. They want "official" status on discord, have an official BW SWTOR discord that is open for all to join, and controlled by BW, not a private non-employee individual. Anything else just maintains the perception that they are discussing business (game) decisions with non-employees and are being biased against their own "official" platforms for proper communication, which iirc is a violation of company rules (as they like to make noises at enforcing here, but only when it suits them) But, if they like and want to keep the perceptions that they are biased, petty, and hypocritical, then they'll just keep on as they are...

  8. fixt missing the original devs that were transparent in their actions (or at least the intentions), and had no issues communicating the games mechanics in clear and concise terms instead of 'hiding behind the curtain' (RIP 2012 Community Q&A blogs) The sad truth is that 'crafting' in this game has been the baby left on the door step that no one wants to take responsibility for since the CM took over things that were once the sole providence of crafters, and every subsequent release has just end up worse off than it was before. Then you add in the forum-troll politico wars of CQ, and its just a sad state of being where their heads turn with the hot winds of whoever can squawk the loudest on where to aim their nukes next. With the time they put into 6.2.1 shinyitis emote issues alone, they could have instead been working on things that actually impacted game play (or *gasp*, even crafting).. but, you know, Space Barbie has to be able to /spit, and... Reasons™.
  9. If the comps are in the same influence bracket, then they are listed a-z in the crew skill window and the crating drop down list.
  10. this is a double edged scenario, and one that I have no intention of endorsing. Regardless of how much things may be improved, the experience of their recent antics of changes and updates is they would find some way to mess it up that only makes sense to them and leave us much worse off. it works, better than it did, so leave it be.
  11. we had this type of setup originally (research ftw) (2012) [Guide] Companion Crew Skill Bonuses -- Picking the Best Crew Skills for your Class it sucked. what we have now is immeasurably better
  12. tell the friend to email support@swtor.com (from the email they use for SWTOR) and be patient, it may take a few days to hear back from them this way only other option is to call them during business hours https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/star-wars/star-wars-the-old-republic/swtor-support/
  13. It is not the schematic quantity counting that is in question They were (intentionally?) unclear that this would not just affect the schematic quantity (such as with med-packs, adrenals, etc), but also the crit quantity delivered as well, which is another step backwards to old CQ mechanics with regards to crafting. Even if this sideswipe was an unintended consequence, it is still what was delivered with 6.2.1, and is just another example of an overly harsh knee-jerk response to something that could and should have been handled with less of a negative impact on the masses.
  14. Others are already making very valid points, so I'll just focus on one specific point here: Where there complaints about the quantity? If so I must have missed them, and so has every one I have talked to today about this post. The quantity was never the issue. The complaints are primarily about the now lack of ability to cap a toon just from crafting or harvesting. Multiple toons for us alt-a-holics, many who once idled in the game doing these things in-between other tasks through out our day(s). For a select few, it was quite a bit deeper: "With the removal of crafting and harvesting for CQP, there is literally no way to cap toon(s) without hopping on that tiresome hamster wheel of confrontation and combat". And yes, the troll-hounds baying over it was already anticipated, but it is an entirely valid view and comment that I though worth sharing. We who have put much time and many resources to get where we respectively are, excel at what we enjoy, to have it be worthwhile, and to be able to contribute to CQ in the process. With 6.2.1, you killed us. Not nerfed, killed. Which is precisely where daily diminishing (per character) CQ returns would have been a preferable anti-whatever mechanism vs the nuke you just dropped on us. Think of covid as an ongoing Hiroshima, and 6.2.1 as Nagasaki. It was just as much overkill then as this is now. Its to the point that many crafters are so disillusioned with CQ from this update they no longer even bother paying attention to CQ, and that combined with the still existing covid restrictions in many areas, you just caused many to have some level of depression by taking away that which they both loved to do and were able to feel a sense of accomplishment and contribution while doing it. And this is no analogy either, just a sad reality of the covid times in this digital world. You doubt it? You have the records to show who was active in crafting, and whose demographics have nose dived off a sheer cliff in the short time since 6.2.1 went live. Try emailing or calling some of those players and ask them yourselves... why? As of 6.2.1, I have three reasons left to still be here, and only one of them of them has any basis in the game itself. Given the right viable option(s), the two could be filled elsewhere with much less nonsense or drama, and then the third could go pound sand.
  15. Saw this today on imp side. Moved Guild Ship to Dantooine monday in preparation for the pirate event, had orbital support enabled, yet went back this morning on my first toon post reset and no buff, yet the ship said it was enabled. Moved the ship, got the notice that OS was removed from Dantooine. Moved it back, re-enabled it, and it worked fine for the time being. Yet later in the day the buff was gone again on another toon, and had guildies online to confirm what I was seeing. GM moved the ship again, saw the alert, etc etc. Pub side was fine though with never an issue.
  16. I think the last few weeks of forum threads and game updates speak to that well enough all on their own.
  17. 99% of the CM is nothing but shinyitis for those that like to play space barbie a/o space barbie dream house, and just a non-functional $$ sink for them to churn. Sadly, the bulk of that $$ sink goes as bonuses and dividends rather than back into (this games) development.
  18. the modern day equivalent is called "union busting", and the method is much the same. find a weak point of the onion, chip at it until that layer is gone, give it a little time, them rinse and repeat. each layer removed makes the group that much smaller and weaker, until you literally have nothing worthwhile left and you can just bury it without any concern to the now minimal consequences.
  19. If you subbed via the swtor site, and used a CC or paypal:
  20. Most notable for myself were the Garrison system in WoW: WoD (bound returns per character) and the settlement system in FO4 (SP sandbox, tons of community mod options). For SWTOR's possible version, I'd envisioned a legacy system that was stronghold based to keep honors 'even' and 'fair' while still being alt-a-holic friendly, but that would not preclude a per character setup either (probably with diminished returns vs the legacy option). But between then and now, the options for per character SH's was removed, so would have to be a legacy setup to function without reverting the removals. Could also have been a good way to implement a roll-over legacy level system with some decently new legacy perks (think minor perks akin to what guilds have now). I know there are a few others that have similar features, but I'll let others with more direct and involved experience with them speak to their p/cons.
  21. Other games have taken this route, most quite successfully - about an even split being bound vs un-bound resources attained from such things. We were hoping for such features when they started piling on the comps via Allaince Alerts, but if they have not done it by now... Reasons™
  22. This is what happens when they refuse to do an actual auction system that has bidding with no buyout - which should have been their first option to start putting the brakes on this run-away economy, but, yeah, no. Reasons™
  23. read the op, then re-read what you posted - hint: its still happening daily, regardless of the reason(s) even if it was due to unclaimed rewards, might one think they are unclaimed for a reason? Bottom line: forcing it to pop open every damned day does not make it any more appealing, just more annoying. Go force your garbage on someone that actually wants it. Since there is no legacy to block that mails that crap to me, I'd tick an option to have them all go to a random guildie if I could...
  24. This question was asked by the players and clarified by the devs when it was first introduced. The original design and intent was that the 15% went to the players, not as a guild exclusive bonus. Much like the long broken mount protection that they also decided to 'announce' as removed because they broke it and could not be bothered to fix it for Reasons™ that only make sense to them - so this news /announcement is just another "working as intended" (also because they can't be bothered to fix it)
  25. unless they SNAFU'd somewhen along the way (which, historically, is more probable than not), there has never been any point allotment that went to the guild but skipped the player. all guild CQ points are/were based on character numbers. the inaccuracy is due to Reasons™ they they refuse to acknowledge or resolve, but if you change zones it will update the guild numbers. It may take a couple transitions to trigger (again, Reasons™), but it will eventually. When in doubt, go by that characters (L) Log\Conquest tab > progress bar.
