Well, maybe the title is exaggerating a little. I do have other issues with the game, but for the moment, I'd like to set those aside and talk about color crystals. My big question: WHY ARE COLOR CRYSTALS ALIGNMENT BOUND!?!? I could almost understand a faction bound color crystal system. This would fit the lore (Sith craft their own crystals, so they're mostly red, Jedi find them in nature, so color variance is more common, etc) but it would still have problems. The problems have to do with blasters. Blasters in both the films and KotOR seem to largely be red-beam colored. The problem is, it's impossible for a lightsided character to have a red-beamed blaster. Similarly, we all remember that in the films, the bad guys had green lasers, which we can duplicate here. I could understand certain particularly good crystals being alignment bound, but for every random crystal that isn't yellow? I really wish that color crystals didn't have alignment-limitations except in very particular circumstances (special crystals, etc). That way, we actually conform with the lore in a way that makes sense (several canon lightside Jedi had red lightsabers, Lobacca and Leia for instance). It also gives players more flexibility in customizing one of the most iconic pieces of the IP. I know it won't happen right away, but at some point in the future, I'd really like to have color crystals be just that, color. Something to customize your character and set him apart a bit, not something to indicate your alignment.
