  1. I just downloaded the app, and it wants a serial number. Little problem though, I don't have one. I cannot seem to get anywhere in the app, and there does not appear to be anything on the forums that addresses this. Suggestions?
  2. Exactly my point. Now, I will admit that I just noticed they are trying to put it through on a card that expires this month but was deactivated (or should have been) last month. I have since updated the card information with a new one, but the fact that it went through at all is very interesting. I think I need to go speak with my bank about this. Also, regardless of that, last month before the soon to expire card was canceled, I still had a six day gap between charge and CC delivery for subscription. If memory serves though, that was when F2P went live, so there is no real correlation there to what is happening this month. Nor do I feel that it is a valid reason for the delay.
  3. To be clear: this is *NOT* a request for a Mod to send this up to the CS bots. I already spoke to them. This is more me complaining and possibly alerting others, in case they did not notice. So, my billing cycle has me charged on the 15th. Last month (November) I received my Stipend on the 21st. Yesterday, my billing cycle came up again, I paid my $14.99 and apparently I get to wait up to six days again to receive my stipend. Last month I honestly did not notice the delay as my college was not on break, I had classes and homework. I was happy to even log on for an hour or two once every three days. I just cannot fathom the reason for there to be such a long delay. Maybe a day, that I could get, if everyone was submitting payment that day and there was a lot of payments going through above the normal of people purchasing CC. I might be able to work with that. But six days? I do not go to the supermarket, pay for a can of soda and come back in almost a week to pick it up. Cartel Coins are not something on back order. They are not a physical object that needs to be mailed to me. Why is there such a delay in me getting what I paid for?
  4. I have to say that as an Imperial player who lucked out on having a Pub character, I think it is utter sh*te that I actually need that character just to get HK-51. I understand you want people to play (and pay) for longer, but doing this kind of thing is more than a little shady. Keep it up to lose more subscribers, as this merely serves to further alienate people, regardless of focus on PvP or PvE. Many Imperial players take great pride in playing Imperials with no want, interest or care to play on the Republic at all.
  5. That kind of thing would be cool, but after watching the video about some of the FTP changes, I suddenly have serious doubts about any of these kinds of things ever getting implemented.
  6. If memory serves, Darth Maul was the basis for the Sith Assassin AC, but in my opinion, they boned that one horribly. Darth Maul was a master of Juyo, a form that focuses on the use of the saber and generally eschews the use of abilities such as Force Lightening. Through out all of episode 1 Darth Maul uses it only once. While it was red, it was somewhat half hearted, as he preferred the visceral nature of melee combat over using the Force as his sole means of attack. Mixed in with his use of the Juyo form and the use of his Saberstaff he used Teras Kasi attacks as well (the main martial art form of the Star Wars universe). The reliance upon the Force that Assassins use (and the silly saber charges rather than forms) is a major break away from the basis for the class. I have played a Sin up to 50, been a Darkness and Deception Assassin both for end game, PvP and leveling. Now, personally, I have always felt that the Marauder should have gotten the Saberstaff while the Assassin should have used a pair of standard Lightsabers. This would have been more fitting as the Darth Maul stylings would have been better adhered to due to the Marauder being more physically oriented, and the Assassin would be more like the Ninja aspect that they are meant to have. Could I provide a basis of established lore arch-type character for a dual wielding, lightening/force using sneaky guy? Nope, I could not. Generally though, I would also like more availability for weapons choices in classes. It would entice me to roll a Marauder to use a Saberstaff, reroll my Assassin for dual wielding (I have deleted both of those characters) and get me into a Powertech Bounty Hunter with a rifle, and a Mercenary Bounty Hunter with an Assault Cannon. Many of those changes, while likely technically difficult, would not be insurmountable as all of the usable visuals and what not are already there. The stats themselves are equivalent, for the most part. A Juggernaut with two Sabers is equal to a Juggernaut with a Focus (obviously this would be only used by DPS Juggs due to not being able to use a Shield while dual wielding), or a Commando with his AC against a Mercenary with his two pistols.
  7. Not all of the forms have been created yet. Vapaad is created by Master Mace Windu, and since we are a few years before him, we cannot have that form. Personally, I would like to have some of the lesser known forms put in, as well as fixing some of the current ones so that they fall in line with the lore behind them. Take Shien form, for example. This is a reverse grip form wherein the adherent essentially punches foreword and then hooks the attack from the wrist at the last moment in order to create a slashing effect. Yet, how do we wield the saber while using Shien in the game? Normal grip, blade up. I would really like for the different forms using differing animations rather than merely being a buff with no other visual effect than when you turn it on. While I would like some kind of lightening visual other than the legacy one that my Juggernaut has (hell, up it on Taunt, as I tank I wind up using it often enough in the WZs). On the other hand, I would gladly pass on a class lightening ability in favor of having forms that show distinct differences. This is, of course, merely my opinion.
  8. **Translated from the original Rylothin** **Text begins** Mothers' blessings be upon you. I am the one named Sinya'Una, a Twi'Lek of the planet of originating the beings called Twi'Lek. It is with honor and humility that I make the announcement to needing assistance as well as to bringing in all of those removed from the Planet Ryloth. Clan Alesshi is working towards the noble goal of emancipating all enslaved Twi'Leks as well as recovering all relics stolen from the home world. To the end of this, we wish to raise awareness of the plight of our people, wishing for all Twi'Leks that are free to join us. Your political leanings mean nothing to us as we are neutral, much as the home world is. While we will attempt, when possible to secure the emancipation of our comrades through peaceful means and legitimate channels, what must be done must be done. While we are Twi'Lek focused, this in no way means that we will exclude any that wish to prove themselves as Kocceille Twi’lek. We are also not adverse to performing favors for others should the same be extended back. **Message Ends** ((OOC stuff: RP Medium guild, with server encompassing events. After I get the guild formed [hopefully of people that want to be there, not just warm bodies... unless I get desperate] I will begin planning the first event, and laying out some details for it. Contact Sinya'Una in game if you want to talk, find out more, or just poke at me with a stick.))
  9. A few years back, when I still played WoW I was talking with a friend of mine about PvP and the way that the PvP gear gap between someone that just made it to level cap and is jumping into PvP vs someone that has been in the top tier of PvP gear is enough to essentially lock someone out of PvP. A comment that he made about a way to even the odds struck a cord with me, and I have liked it ever since. The suggestion was simple: When a match starts, everyone has their gear removed and locked, temporarily. Within the starter area of the PvP zone there is a box for the different armor types. You click on the box and it gives you spec based gear options (to include weapons, off hands and everything else so that you have no empty slots). You equip whatever suit of gear you took out of the box, and then fight wearing that. When the PvP round has ended, be it victory or defeat for your side, you are then sent back as per usual and your original gear is then unlocked and automatically re-equipped for you. This style removes any perceived/actual gear differences, making it purely a test of skill. Those lacking in skill have no one to blame but themselves, though like many Americans they will likely find someone else to blame regardless.

Unfixed. With the movement towards content being pushed every six WEEKS as they want to do, and are attempting to adhere to, it remains at six weeks. I see many hardcore PvPers complaining about a lack of content and requesting more, so for it to align with the content push Bioware is shooting for, it would have to be on the six week timeline rather than a monthly time line. In regards to PvP Content: How many different warzone types are there, really? CTF? Got one. Point capture, got two. Assault/defend got one. I would like to see an all out grudge match of just side A vs side B. No points to capture, no flags to carry just a knock down, drag out slaughter fest. Do we have that in planetary PvP? Yes and no. Yes in that you can get your guild, a group of people or whatever to just go onto a contested (neutral) planet and pick off whomever is there. Do you get any reward other than potentially being a greifer? Not really. This style of combat has been done before in other games, the most notable being (more or less) Alterac Valley. Now, sure, there was side stuff you could do in there as well, killing the general, releasing the elementals, upgrading the NPC combatants and all of that, and while those can add an interesting flavor, I would like a straight up fight. Ten minutes of slaughter, choke points and general mayhem. Now, I will admit that I am not the most well versed in regards to all of the different map types you can have for PvP, but I have noticed that you have only so much diversity in regards to over arching objectives on a map. Once you have each of them covered, everything else is just fluff. In my opinion, fighting on Alderaan or in the Huttball arena are completely immaterial. Have the same fight with a different back drop is not the same as having an entirely new warzone to me. Adding in a couple of different fiddley bits does not create a new experience to me either. If the next warzone is Huttball with turrets, it is still huttball. When you release a new set of armor for PvPers, that is not new content in my opinion, that is the furtherance of what I feel is a broken system due to PvP stats that increase the difficulty of someone new into PvP at end game becoming something other than frustrated. That last comment can easily lead into another conversation, so I will attempt not to go there. Now, I understand that some of you will read this and weigh my points and arguments with consideration. A fair number will read them, but be unwilling to allow how they feel to be swayed. A vocal minority will quote my text and make pithy comments, or mock me. Such actions do not further the debate/conversation happening here. While I cannot stop you from performing these last two actions, I do ask that if you intend to perform at least the last one, if not the last two, then please put some kind of warning at the heading of your post so that those of us that wish to have an actual debate can skip past your post since you have little to nothing to add to the conversation. That being said, allow the trolling to begin.

While I do PvP, and sometimes I even PvE (outside of leveling) I cannot say that I think that PvP players should be getting something every single patch. What would there be to get? A new War Zone every six weeks? New armor/weapons/frilly bits? What about those of us that are not hard core PvPers? What of those of us that have other things to do through out the day? I go to college, I spend about three hours in classes (with an hour or so in between each) along with an hour or three (sometimes more) on homework. When I get home there are dishes to be done, laundry once a week, as well as spending time with my Wife. Some days I just do not feel like playing Tor, other days I just do not have time, or if I do play Tor I do not want to sink my hours into just PvPing. If you want a game that is oriented to PvP so that PvPers get more content than PvE players (who make up a larger percentage of the population) then perhaps you should look into a different game. Expecting PvP to get the same amount of attention, consistently, as PvE in a game that focuses more on PvE is more than a little silly. The spoiler area contains a divergence from the original topic, feel free to ignore. In the end, PvP players should expect and accept a slower pace when you are playing a PvE oriented MMO.

    Getting flagged

So, two days in a row now, I am on Illum doing my dailies, no big deal yeah? I am not on a PvP server of any kind, and I do not habitually run around while flagged either. I notice a Pub player standing there and watching me for a few minutes. Next I know, I am flagged and getting the **** beaten out of me. I do as I can to flee because somehow the Pub player flagged me, and I have no idea how. I can only assume that my AE abilities (since I am a tank I use them even against a single mob) are causing me to get flagged involuntarily. So here are my questions: 1) Is that what is happening? Perhaps one of you have experience with this kind of thing. 2) If I am correct in my assumption about how I am getting flagged, why is Bioware not doing something about it? I did not want to PvP with that player I just wanted to get my dailies done. So maybe the next time that happens I should just report the player for griefing. Call me a carebear or whatever else you like. When I want to PvP I go to Warzones. I do not wear PvP armor because I am not a hard core PvPer. I am, on the other hand, more than a little tired of this kind of thing happening while I am trying to do my three friggin hours worth of dailies to get my credits, tokens and what have you. That brings up another point, could we perhaps make the dailies a little closer together? Perhaps just the turn in points? I am more than a little tired of wasting three hours a day just to knock out my dailies. It is absurd.
  13. We have a show/hide helm option, can we also have a show/hide cape option? As a player that primarily plays Melee classes, I find it more than a little ridiculous that a number of the late level armors from Flashpoints and what not all have a cape. Capes are nice for a dress uniform, they are great if you do not have to mix it up with someone face to face, but generally speaking, if I am about to wade into the midst of my enemies the last thing I want is a long flowing cape that just screams "grab me!" as I charge in. I understand that there are no actual abilities for the grabbing of a cape in game, but that is all I can think about as I flail about wildly with my lightsabers or vibroswords.
  14. So I was just thinking about it, and one thing I miss from the KotOR games is the swoop races. So I got to thinking about how to implement them in Tor. 1) Rank 1/2/3 speeder levels allows access to Swoop upgrades therefore incentivizing the purchase of higher levels of speeder riding. Because honestly, the cost to tack on another 10% and a further 10% is very high with little to no difference aside from switching from a hovering Segway to a funky canoe. 2) Speeder upgrades made by Cybertechs. This further boosts the in game market economy and acts much like ship upgrades. 3) Separate que from Warzones. Swoop races can be done PvE OR PvP adding another layer to the minigame to further distinguish it from the space combat missions. 4) PvP Swoop Races are still about time, but being able to nudge/bump someone into a mine/wall to affect their time would be friggin awesome. This always takes away from complaints of "X class is OP, so nerf them because I cannot own up to my inability to play my class well so it must be someone else's fault that I keep dieing in PvP!" But I digress. The different strata of races are purely dependent upon your riding. Rank 0 is 10-24. Rank 1-3 is consistent with your riding level. In this way the items purchased have no minimum level other than being able to purchase the speeder pilot level needed. Anyways, just a thought. The code itself could be lifted almost straight from either of the KOTOR games, played with a bit to allow the PvP aspect of it, and gone over from there. Random courses, differing planets and all that. Hell, why not guild custom courses for "unsanctioned" matches?
