  1. Just came back to the game after quitting about three months after release. After reading about all of the classes for the last few days, I've decided that Shieldtech seems to be what I'm going to end up playing as. I do have a few questions for in regards to how they're currently performing in game. How are they doing when soloing around the world with a companion? Is it better to use a healer or a DPS companion? How is shieldtech doing right now in PVP? Are they a suitable tank for most PVE encounters? Or are they lacking in certain areas? Thank you for any help you can provide
  2. It feels like there's been more communication in this thread today than there has been in the last two weeks. Can we expect a level of communication like this going forward, or will it be reverting back to the level of communication we usually have seen where it's limited to mostly server outages? Is there a community representative independent of the PVP or PVE representative who's goal is to explain the reasoning behind class changes, or is that mostly going to remain limited to developer posts after class changes have already been pushed to live servers? And, lastly, I know it's a long shot - But can you give us an idea on when Bioware feels summer begins and ends?
  3. I remember someone stating that they were looking for a new lead community rep - Was that debunked?
  4. I'd actually really appreciate that.
  5. I want this game to do well. When my server started decline, my friends and I moved to a new server. How that server seems to be in decline. Things are stagnating. I know, server transfers are coming - But we've been hearing that for months now. Early summer is the best estimate we're getting. At best, that puts them three weeks out being that summer begins in late June. Updates aren't coming out as fast as we were told they would be - 1.3 was supposed to take less time than 1.1 -> 1.2 since it wasn't a content patch. It's looking like it will take just as long, if not longer. ( http://www.swtor.com/patchnotes - Note the times between 1.1 -> 1.2, and 1.2 -> "early summer" ) Eight to ten weeks for 1.2 from 1.1, and we're on week 7 of 1.2 without 1.3 even being on the PTR. To top that off, EA informs us that SWTOR isn't in there top five games in terms of priority. Then the layoffs, one of those people being laid off being the community manager. Keep in mind that communication has been one of the many complaints people have made, along with QA (Which a large chunk of was also let go). These were layoffs, not firings, as far as I can tell. Couple all of that with the Fatman GM incident.. I don't know if it's Bioware, if it's EA, or if there's internal things going on or what. All of it just has me extremely worried about the future of the game. I feel that whenever we do hear something about the future of the game, it's on "the wall of crazy," or it'll be here "soon" which always seems to be the time line month after month.

    Ravage

I don't have much of a problem with ravage. It doesn't hit nearly as hard as people here are claiming it does, either. As a sith assassin, I can't remember the last time I was hit with a full duration of it as well in a one vs one situation. I'm not saying combat should be balanced for 1v1, just saying I have a lot of outs for it. A majority of it's damage is loaded onto the last tick as well, giving you two seconds to find a way out. Vanish. Stun x2 Force speed out of range. AoE knock back.
  7. Nope, all of your defenses still work while channeling.
  8. Actually, you sort of do. If your goal of this post is to inform, then you should post your evidence. I'm not saying I don't believe you, I'm actually neutral.
  9. My friends and I (those that are still playing) rerolled about two months or so ago on a higher pop server rather than wait for server transfers. I'm glad we decided to do that before making alts on our old server. Our old server isn't even as bad as some of you are saying yours are. I feel honestly bad for those with several characters on low pop servers. I hope you guys get consolidated soon.
  10. Two transfer are coming: Free transfers only to targeted realms from specific realms Paid transfers from any realm to any realm
  11. It's something that he's been saying since before 1.2 came out.
  12. I should have posted this as well - Deafening defense is IMO the stronger of the two defensive talents.
  13. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#101rrhdzzZfMrorhdz.1 There's my build, minus two points because I'm unsure where to spend them. The last two points can be used for Sonic Barrier - ~700 absorb after a force scream. Deafening Defense - 4% less damage taken, 15% less damage taken when using Enraged Defense Ravager - +8% damage to ravage, -3 seconds on the cool down.
  14. Thank you for those. Does anyone have anything from in game today?
  15. Can someone link a screenshot with the higher resolution character textures for those stuck at work?
  16. I was playing on the sith side with some friends, but they've all decided to reroll as republic. I was wondering if there are any "sith style" robes equip-able by Jedi Knights? I want to lean away from brown robes if possible.
  17. You can still use all of those abilities as a Vengeance specced juggernaut, though. There doesn't seem to be a reason in PVP to be immortal.
  18. I apologize if you feel I'm getting snippy. I felt bolding that statement was a necessity, as it's been stated several times by myself and others yet it's frequently ignored. I do take a bit of offense when people assume incorrectly that I do not understand the function of Guard in PVP when that isn't what I'm questioning. I also apologize as well if my thread title and original post were misleading. You're correct, I was trying to understand why one would benefit from going down the Immortal tree over any other DPS spec as a Juggernaut. After making the original post, I did some research and found that the Vengeance tree does more damage and takes less damage than the immortal tree in PVP while losing none of the tanking abilities (Taunt, Guard). Edit: And, as you can see, people still aren't reading the original post.
  19. Please, explain why. Vengeance gains more endurance, 4% flat damage mitigating, 20% mitigation after a force charge or intercept. These benefits far outshine anything the Immortal tree gets in regards to PVP (40% reduction on a 3 minute cool down, 5 seconds longer on endure pain, 6-12% defense chance, +4% shield chance, small bubble after force scream). (Also, please read the sticky at the top of this forum to see how tanking stats work in pvp if you haven't already, shield chance and defense are ignored by a lot of abilities.) Furthermore, you can still use guard as a DPS specced juggernaut. There isn't anything preventing you from doing it. Again, I think myself and several others have posted about this. There is nothing preventing a DPS specced juggernaut from using guard or taunts.
  20. And the almost the same amount of time to kill two people, and not true mitigation by the meaning of the word I know. Like I said, we can disagree on the word, but as long as you know the context in how I'm using it we're good. The functionality of guard isn't what I was originally questioning in this thread. I was questioning why you should go tank if you want to protect against damage in warzones? You can still use guard as a DPS as a Juggernaut. In fact, it seems Vengeance is better suited for absorbing damage than Immortal.
